Welcome to the making of a DM. What do you do when you get punched in the face with reality? Oh, this is a life show. I'm going to give quick life updates. More importantly, what's happening in October? The show is going to be powerful. Please listen all the way to the end, and more importantly, enjoy the show. So with that said, Let's get started.
I'm Mark Evans Deal. I'm Mark Evans Deal. I'm here to help and teach him what I know and how I did it to discover freedom. There ain't no question Mark Evans when he step in the doubt. He's closing deals. Time to tell him what the DM stand for. I'm a deal maker, a deal maker. But I'm not just a deal maker. I'm a dream maker.
Hey there, it's your boy, Mark Evans, DM. Welcome to another Making of the DM podcast show.
That's right.
You are the dealmaker and dreammaker of your life. What a last couple of weeks. First of all, I want to say thank you guys so much for being here. We're grinding, hustling. We're already out of August. As I'm shooting this, it's September 1st. We have so much on the plate. As I'm sure you do as well. Today, I wanted to take a quick couple minutes with you. This may be about a 30-minute show, but I just want to share a lot of what's going on over here in the DM world. I was sitting here smoking a cigar at the office. I've been here literally since 5:30 this morning, working on a bunch of different projects. Actually got a nice workout in, and I just kind of got stuck into some actions and stuff like that. Other activities, I guess I should say. But guys, keep sharing the show. Keep reposting it and tagging me. It means so much to me. I don't think you guys really realize. You know, we all have craziness going on, and it's funny to me that people can't take simple actions like replying to a show, like letting me know, hey, good show, or hey, this is what's going on. I read and receive and comment on every single one of those. Me personally, not AI, not an assistant, no one, me. So if you're ever trying to figure out how to start building relationship capital with anybody, well, maybe you should start communicating with them and all that. It's pretty simple on the grand scheme of things. But I want to share some real life stuff with you guys and good, the bad, the ugly. I have a lot of things going on just like you, and for some reason, We live in a world of social media where everyone sees the highlights, the clips, the cool stuff, the cool cars, the yachts, the flights, the trips, and all that stuff, which is fine. And it's inspiring. Like if you have a good lens and you have like understand what's going on in real life, you would understand these are just moments in time. But to make all that stuff happen, the crap that we have to deal with is real. Unfortunately, today at 7 a.m., I got a horrible text. One of my best friends, his mother's about to pass away. Actually, probably by the time you listen to the show, she'll probably be gone. I'm not sharing that to make you sad or anything like that, but I think about this young 70s. I think about the I'm 48, 22, 24 year, 22 to 24, 25 years from now. What's my departure look like if I go that young? Heavens forbid, right? Did I accomplish everything I set out? Am I, you know, am I laying on my deathbed of regret of what I wish I could have done, not with what I did? Am I— what am I laying there thinking about? Who, more importantly, who's in that room with me? And as I text my good buddy, I was like, dude, the truth is, at the end of the day, It sucks when anybody departs this world, but at the end of the day, it's an amazing gift to be able to sit there and tell them how much they mean to you. This is one of the best gifts I've ever been given to me for my grandfather and my grandmother, almost my sister, as well as my mother. You know, we all have these things happening in life, and as we get older, it's going to happen more often. I know we're grinding out, we talk about business and deal-making and dream-making and all this stuff. And that's going to happen. And because that's who we are. But at the end of the day, it's how do you deal and navigate through these moments? 2 weeks ago, another one of my best friends, his pops, his father passed away. And again, he was able to get there for the last 12 hours of his life and be able to tell him how much he means to him. So if you ever have that gift, of being able to sit down beside someone and just really lay it all on the table, shut the door, you and them, and just share. I did this with my grandmother when I was younger. I got to spend time with her. It was so hard to do. I actually had to record a video. This is a— not a video, but on a tape deck. And I just held her hand and we cried and we just listened together. But that's real life stuff. I even get emotional thinking about it because It's the— we all end up that way. We all end up dead. And I'm always amazed at people that are afraid to go out there and do stuff big, to look stupid. Who cares? No one cares except you. Not— I'm not saying be reckless, but go out there and live big. Do big things. Live hard. Like, do life. Like, live it. Be present. Take risk. Educated risk and live. But so we got that going on. I just got back last night. I was in the Hamptons for a long weekend. Not for me, not for hanging out on the beach or anything like that. But my son was in a cool thing called the Founders Group, where 100+ kids came into a room and they were guided from 10 AM to 9 PM. Literally the first day on Saturday. And then on Sunday from 10 AM till 5 PM. And they literally came in with no ideas. They sit down, they navigated ideas, built out websites with AI, created a product. More importantly, what most people don't do, they actually started selling it. Over 80% of the kids, and these are from kids from 10 years old to 16 years old, generated revenue within those 18 hours. To me, that's pretty impressive. They're not afraid to fail. They're not afraid to look stupid. They're not afraid of rejection. They're simply executing and doing what most people should be doing every single day. Doing the work, asking for the sale, making the product better daily, every single day. I have multiple businesses I'm involved in. Our telehealth company, we have massive growth issues. You know, things are working in some spots and some aren't working in other spots, and we're just pushing hard and we're guiding and we're We're prodding and we're doing all these things. At the same time, while that's all going on, I got a call from someone in my family. One of my uncles is not doing well, right? He had a couple— he had a cancer, he got rid of that, now he has another cancer. And unfortunately, he's out of— they can't do any more chemo, they can't cut him open because if they do, the doctor straight up said, you will die on the table. Well, I guess one of his dreams was go to the Cincinnati Reds game. So instead of Thinking about it, planning about it, calling him, trying to set it up and all that. I talked to his brother and my dad, which my dad is his brother, one of them. And I said, "Hey, I'm taking us all." This is like six days later. I went and got us awesome seats, hotels, everything for twelve of us to go and spend an amazing day together. All day, right? All day to you know with my son, my dad. My uncles, their sons, every— all the guys, and to hang out with my uncle. This could be the last game he ever goes to. It's that serious. And I'm not trying to be Debbie Downers. I'm just saying we have great stuff going and we have crappy stuff going. That's called life. We all are doing that. The question is, what happens when it happens to you and how do you deal with it? More importantly, how long do you stay stuck in the problem? Lots of you are great at talking about the problem, but most of you are not good at solving the problem. What's the solution? Well, I can't solve him not dying, but I can solve making his dream come true in a nanosecond. I literally went online, contacted the main guy at the Reds, contacted someone at the Reds, got tickets and got a hotel. I mean, this is simple stuff. For $5,000, $7,000, $10,000, you can turn situation into an opportunity to spend time. Now, my dad, his brothers get to spend time with his other brother that's sick, or me and the boys get— all of us get together. So, you have that power. We all do. But it's like, oh, poor me. I'll do it next month. It's never the right time. I'm crazy busy, crazy busy, just like you are. But the thing is, is time is not our friend in those moments. Some people kick the can down the road. I always think about this. Do I kick the can down the road for a month, 2 months, 3 months? Maybe, maybe he's around. I hope he is. But what if he's not? How would I feel with myself if I didn't take the action I know I could take to give him a dream that he's wanted to do? And I didn't do it because I'm too busy. Time waits for no one. No one. It might be my end of the day today. Who knows? But this is going on in the telehealth business. We're growing by leaps and bounds. We have lots of, lots of challenges. You know, you're dealing with a lot of doctors, you're dealing with lawyers, you're dealing with patients, you're dealing with staff. There's a lot of moving parts. Marketing, tech. I mean, it's endless. There is something powerful about simple business models. By the way, telehealth is not simple, but I have other businesses that are way more simpler than telehealth. The outcome will be drastically different, I believe, right? Easy doesn't necessarily make as much, but it's easy and it makes good money. And I've had good exits on those and, you know, some, some great cash flow. And the other one might just be a cash suck for a year, 2, 3 years, but at the end of 3 years, oh my goodness. It's massive exit, massive money. I'm talking like life-changing money, tens of millions, if not hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars in exit value, enterprise value, if you will. So, you got to figure out like, what does your day look like, right? Like my day kind of derailed a little bit today. I have lots of meetings, right? And here at 5:30, got the workout in, got a terrible text at 7:00, team's here, you know, I have team meetings at 8:00. You know, calls, this going on, lots and lots of going on. But I just want to share with you what happens in those moments. Do you shut down? I'm— I feel very blessed. I feel very excited that I can actually help bring people's dreams come true in seconds. Seconds. You can too. I heard the problem. I solved the problem. I don't hear the problem, create another problem, create another problem. And before you know it, it's too late. Too many people are not executing and solving. They execute, hit the wall. Excuse me. Hit the wall and then retract. Guys, You have to keep your feet moving at all times. It's mandatory. You must keep your feet moving at all times. No one at all wants you to stop. I know you want to, but I can tell you this: my habits, my daily habits, i.e., waking up early for me, is what pushes me through the storms much easier. They still suck. They're still not easy, but it's my habits. It's my rhythm. I wake up, I change, and I go work out. That's a habit. It's— I've been doing this for many, many, many, many, many, many years, right? I gotta move. I can't sit around. I don't get on the computer. I don't drink coffee. I get up and go straight. I got my clothes already laid out, and I just hit it. Right? It's allowed me to go forward when I don't want to even move. It's a secret that I have. It's my secret weapon. Habits.
Boom.
Just get up and go. And I don't care where I'm at, anywhere in the world, any place. Maybe I'm not hitting the weights, but maybe I'm walking, you know, hitting the 3 miles every day. No matter where you're at. That's what you got to do. And if you follow me on social media, you see all the time my quick talks from the walk. That's my 3-mile walk that I'm doing daily. So it's very important that you have good, strong, moving daily habits that allow you to get out of the suck quicker. I also want to share with you guys something very cool that we're working on. There's 2 things. One, I have a DealMaker, DealMaker Alliance event going on in October. At my farm in Geneva, Ohio. And if this is something that ever interests you, get over to dealmakeralliance.com, fill out an application, and Sonia will contact you. It's a great way to meet a lot of cool people. There'll be— we're going to have a great party afterward. I mean, it's, it's an absolutely amazing 2-day event. I only do 2 of these a year. It's a fulfillment event for everyone participating in the DealMaker family and DealMaker Alliance. And we bring in some amazing human beings, which we do have some amazing ones coming to this. But it gets better. I'm sitting here thinking, I've mentored lots of people, young, old, middle-aged, everything in between. And as I get older, I always, I always think of the people that inspire me, that are always moving forward, are always growing. It's the older man that's like literally just loves young, young technology, young ideas, fresh faces, fresh ideas, all this fun stuff.
Yeah.
So, for the last five years, I've kind of talked about it with my team about in Florida and Ohio, both places where I live. Florida is my home base, but where I live, I want to always give back to the community. I'm an entrepreneur. The best way I can give back is to give insights, guidance, capital, and all these things. Like I you know I love capitalism. I love entrepreneurship. I live, eat, and sleep it. It's I just enjoy it. It's, it's, it's sport to me. It's fun. Like, I genuinely love it. And I love helping people of all levels to go see the bigger picture, more importantly, to see them actually execute against it. And as I'm talking to you, today's September 1st, like I said, and we just launched where I'll be giving $30,000 to 3 people and they must be in Ohio for their ventures. And I'm looking for the next-gen dealmakers, right? Actually, the website is called nextgendealmaker.com. nextgendealmaker.com. And what we'll be doing is we're going to be running applications. If you're 18 to 26 years old, you must have a business already with at least one client. I want to have you pitch us. There will be a board. We got 5 people on the board that will be reviewing all these. We have a lot of colleges, a lot of schools. We have MJ that's actually going out and going to all these locations and talking to people and getting them excited. We'll have hundreds of applications, and out of those hundreds of applications, we're going to pick about 6 people to come out to the event in Geneva and pitch all of us. There'll be 100+ people in that audience of all high-level business owners of all levels of all over the country. And they're going to be able to pitch for 3 minutes. And out of those 6 people, we're going to pick 3 winners. The top winner gets $20,000, the cash prize. The second winner gets $7,500, and the third winner gets $2,500. And again, they must be in Ohio, 18 to 26 years old, not an idea, but an actual business in motion with at least one customer. And they got to— I'm looking for people that want to grow, more importantly, that are growing, and I could help them. More importantly, the board can help them. More importantly, everyone in that room could help them. Think about it like Shark Tank a little bit, where they're pitching, but it's not just, you know, 4 or 5 people watching, it's hundreds of people watching. We will be doing this virtual as well. We're gonna have live video cameras and all that set up for that, so stay tuned. But if you or anybody you know in Ohio For this particular one is 18 to 26 and looking to get some capital to help grow their business, maybe hire someone, maybe do some marketing, maybe to build some tech, use it in their AI or whatever they're doing to be able to get up on stage and do what they need to do. It's going to be scary for them. It's going to be exciting for them. More importantly, we're going to meet some amazing human beings. The reason I've been wanting to do this for so long, I've never wanted to be 50, 60, 70, 80 years old, acting like I know everything, acting like you can't teach a dog old new tricks, and all this other rigmarole that people tell themselves. I'm excited for fresh ideas. I'm excited for that young buck, that young individual kid. And I don't care, all walks of life are welcome to this, by the way. But I want someone that has it, someone that's working on the ideas. You know, for the last 4 years, maybe they're sitting in high school or college, and they're tooling on this idea, and everyone around them telling you can't do that, you can't You can't do that. That's dumb. No one ever will do that. No one has like, whatever they say. And then they get into an environment like the nextgendealmaker.com. They get in that environment, they submit their application, and then they get picked. I couldn't even imagine this existing when I was a child, 18 to 26, or a kid or fresh, new, young in business. If this existed, I don't even know where I'd be today because I would go hard. This is something that will literally give someone a hand up. By the way, even if you don't win, you will win because you got around 100+ entrepreneurs that actually love helping people. See, at every one of my events, I do something. It's called the giving muscle. If you've listened to my show, you've heard about this many, many times, but it's the giving, giving back, going raising money, helping your community, helping your, you know, helping, helping, helping. It's very important at all levels. Especially as you keep growing, right? Because it's easy to get lost on why you're building all this and doing all this stuff. But it fills my soul giving back to people. And it's not just money, but insights, connections, opportunities. More importantly, just instilling my 30-plus years of knowledge in someone that's excited, more importantly, takes it and runs with it. That to me is what the game of life is all about. Going out and making money, giving it back, helping people, getting around others, doing more. We all can do more together. As you may or may not know, my ultimate goal is to give back at least $1 billion before I die. And it's not just my money, but through everyone that's involved. In this particular case here in Ohio, it is my money. And I'm bringing in some buddies. I got my lawyer buddies going to donate a lot of great law advice. Tens of thousands of dollars in real life value and et cetera. Like, you got to be present to see this. It's absolutely going to change a lot of people's lives. Now, it's not just the people on the stage that are pitching that will change our lives. See, I've done the house giveaways to homeless veterans. I've done the art, you know, help, help the, uh, the children and all these different things. We've raised millions of dollars, millions of dollars in an hour, a couple hours. It's pretty spectacular to say the least, but this is different. I'm thinking, how can we instill and help the young up-and-coming entrepreneurs that are going places? They just need a hand up, not a handout. They step up, they get uncomfortable, they share their ideas, and they pitch, and we guide them. Those 6 individuals that are on that stage on October 6th, that's going to change their life. Even if they win or not. Why? Because now 100+ people in the audience, not counting the thousands that would be watching virtually, will hear them and see them and what they're up to. It just takes one person, one person to change their trajectory. One, not 100, not 2, but one. Just takes to grab hold of the idea, grab hold of the individual and say, I like what you got going on. I'm in. Let's go bigger. Let's do this. Meet this person. Meet that person. Like one connection from changing your life, one relationship. And then my ultimate goal is to shine the light on the DM community to let them know you have power, you have insights. We don't have to go give millions of dollars. Start off small. Find one local entrepreneur to support. Give them tools, tricks, strategies, ideas, connections to help them. Mentor someone. Make this game more than just about you. Make it about everybody, the right ones. And I want them to get— grab hold of this and put this in their community to give back. Some will go do it bigger than me, I hope. But I can tell you this, this is something that I will do Until I die. Twice a year, once in Ohio, once in Florida, I'll be doing these kind of competitions, these, these giving pieces where we bring a lot of people together. We have people pitch, we have young ideas pitched, we learn about new things, we meet new people, we connect with great human beings. And as I was on the call today with that team, as we're talking about the launch of it, Here's what gets me the most excited. Today we meet someone, they're 22, they have the business going, they have 3 clients, they need help. We help them. Where are they at when they're 32, 42 years old and beyond? Who are they? Who are they impacting? How are we helping them instill what we instilled to them? I truly believe we're going to meet some of the most amazing human beings that will be 10, 100 times bigger than I am at 48 years old. I'm in this game forever. So I'm looking at it in a very long lens. And I would love for nothing more than you to be there. If this is something that you're in business, you're crushing it. And/or you need help, guidance, and you're not sure of the next move, the DealMaker Alliance is where you need to be. It's $1,000 a month. dealmakeralliance.com. In October, in Ohio here, you're going to see all this happen right before your eyes. This is not just BS talk, some guy you're listening to on whatever version you're listening to me on, if it's YouTube, iTunes, or whatever. This is real life. Real life impact. You'll see it happen real time. You'll get to connect with them as at the party we do on the 6th. We have a huge party, a lot of cool stuff. I can't share all that, but like a lot of neat things are going to be happening during that party. You'll meet people, you're mingling, smoking a cigar, making s'mores with your kids, whatever it is. Like it truly is a community like you've never seen before. It's not what can I get out of you? It's what can I give to you? Who can I? Who do I know that can help you? Where are you at? Where do you want to go? Let's build together. Let's grow this community together. Too many of you are out here being bamboozled by AI. Over 50% of the BS you see online, it's fake, regurgitated, and AI. It's not even real. You're arguing with people that are not even real. You know that, right? The majority of stuff online is not even real. It's AI bots. It's only going to get worse. Get in communities that are growing, that are changing people's lives, not just making more money. Yes, that's cool. And that's what we're all going to do no matter what. But truly, okay, cool. We're making money. Be a great family person. Be a great giver. Let's go bigger together. Get around the community that— I don't care if it's the DM community or not. Find a community That you can roll with and grow with, share with, dream with. Like share your biggest, wildest dreams with them, and they're not going to call you stupid. They're not going to say it's dumb. They're going to be inspired. They might even help you accomplish it way quicker. But you, yes, you have to show up. You have to get out of your own way. You have to realize that there's so much more to this game, and if $1,000 a month is stopping you, That's the problem. It's $1,000 a month. You're saying, I want to be a millionaire, multimillionaire, $100 million, blah, blah, but we're tripping over $1,000 to invest in you. Think about how absurd that is.
It's insane.
You're worth way more than $1,000 and beyond, but yet we get so emotionally attached to money and the money controls us.
Why?
How is $1,000 controlling people? I get it. Sometimes times are hard, but for the majority of you listening to my voice, $1,000 a month, the only thing it could do is change your life in a big way. It's harder to make the decision that actually than to show up. Once you make the decision. That's the biggest shift because now you've realized you have value. You're valuable. Get in the game. Find a community. Find a tribe. Grow with them. Evolve with them. The DealMaker Alliance is like nothing you've ever seen before. I promise you. We have about 130 members in there and we have DealMaker Family as well. That's the $50K a year group. These are all guys doing many millions of dollars a year. We're all together in this room in October, and you will see magic happen. Businesses are scaling. People are growing physically. People are looking better mentally. People are growing financially. They're growing out like big, big time. Multiple collaborations are happening. Whatever you're dealing with could be solved inside of the right community very quickly. However, many people just love to suffer. They love to suffer in silence. They love to suffer in pain. Like just poor me, poor me, poor me. The pity party effect, right? The problem with the pity party is no one shows up with gifts. No one. If anything, you tell the wrong person, they're like, yeah, man, I hear you. Sorry to hear. As opposed to like, snap out of it. Here's the solve. Go do it. If you're around the right people, you're so close to a whole nother world. Get in the game, stay in the game, build, build. You are capable of so much more. And unfortunately, with one of my best friend's dad's passing a couple weeks ago, my buddy's mother about to— one of my best friend's mother's about to pass here in the next 24 hours, I'm guessing. That's going to be us one day. Are you going to be laying on your deathbed saying, man, I wish I shoulda, coulda? Or, dude, I laid it all on the table. I gave it my all. I showed up even when I was scared. I, I zigged, I zagged, I won, I grew. I got knocked down, but I got back up and I kept going. Not just for you, but for your family, your friends. Your kids are watching you every day. My son just turned 11. My daughter's 7 and a half. They're watching me. How does Dad act, react, show up? Does he not show up? Is he present? Is he not present? Is— what, like, what are we talking about at the dinner table every day? See, the truth is I'm not like most people, meaning I don't go out and hang out with buddies. I don't go out drinking. I don't go out doing all these things. I, my season of life is family, business, growth. I'd much rather hang out with my wife and kids than to go hang out at a bar and talk about nothing. I'd rather hang out with my wife and kids or my parents instead of going to a bar and watch sports that I don't care about. Because they don't care about me. Why do I care about them? Listen, I'm not here to judge the things, but what I am here to say is time is limited. Treat it accordingly. Know what season you're in. Get around the right people. Build what you're capable of, not what you're doing, not what you're— you think you're cool with. Build wherever you're at. I know you could go many, many, many folds over. Above and beyond. You're capable of so much more. You know it. I know it. Every day we got to be pushing the limits. Give, grow, and build. You know how to do it. Oftentimes, if you don't, get around people that are doing it, match against them, and now you see how to do it. There's no secrets here. The secret is showing up and executing. Many people are very busy, but they're very busy on the wrong things. Get busy on the right things. Streamline, focus. Get over there to dealmakeralliance.com right now. Fill out the form. Talk to Sonia. See if it's a fit or not a fit. Worst case scenario, you talked to an amazing human being. Sonia, very, very smart, has crazy amounts of experience in business, and she'll give you some insights anyways. We want to build with great people. And if you're a great person looking to do great things, I want to be around you. I don't know who you are listening to me right now, but I kind of do, meaning you're still listening. Deep down inside, you know you're capable of more. What's stopping you? Is it money, connections, ideas? Like, what is it? Because whatever it is inside that community, DealMaker Alliance, it can be solved. But you must step up and show up. I can't do it for you. No one's coming to save you. You have to do it. Get uncomfortable to get very comfortable financially in the future. So as all this stuff's going on, we still got to run a business, run multiple businesses. We still got to hire. We still got to fire. We still got to run ads. We still got to send emails. We still got to do calls. We still got to talk to lawyers. We still got to do all this stuff. And yet some people still talk about the problems. We all have them. What you do about them is what's super important. I want nothing but the best for you. If you win big, that doesn't take away from me. It actually inspires me and encourages me. We all can win bigger together. Get in the right room with the right people. Get over to dealmakeralliance.com. And I just wanted to share a quick update of where I'm at in my life. Mark came in 3rd place at the event, which is really cool. It's kind of a— actually, the 1st place person, his mom and dad donated money. So that kind of doesn't really count, but they counted it. I'm not mad. That's what happened. Um, but the kid sold. I think Mark sold 11 or 12 units at his number. It's just great to see people stepping in the right room, getting around the right people, and watching pure execution come to fruition. If an 11-year-old kid can do it, you definitely can do it. I promise. Stop overthinking it. Stop getting emotional with it. Get rational. Start building and build this thing to the level you never even thought was possible. Borrow my belief. Borrow other people's belief in that room. dealmakeralliance.com. It's the place if you want to transform. It's where it's going to go down. And I'm excited for you to be there to see what partakes with these young 18 to 26-year-olds. If you know anybody in the Ohio area, please share the link nextgend dealmaker.com. And let's see who we can touch. It's gonna be amazing. It's gonna be a very powerful event, very big life-changing experience for these individuals. And I'm excited to share it with you. So I just want to give you a quick update of what's going on over here. At the end of the day, I would say this: keep your feet moving. When you get stuck, keep your feet moving. When you get mad, keep your feet moving. When you get excited, keep your feet moving. Do not become complacent. Do not do the poor me stuff. Get in the game, stay in the game, and keep those feet moving. So with that said, make today count.
