Short spoken excerpt from Mark Hamilton (YouTube) arguing that jealousy in men is an evolved trait: men who stayed to raise offspring were favored by natural selection, and mother nature instilled jealousy to ensure paternity certainty and protect offspring of 'superior' men. The speaker links love with evolutionary advancement and frames paternal care as a marker of superiority.
Nature hardwired.
Jealousy into man. And the reason, of course, for that is the superior man for natural selection was the man who would stay and raise his children. Not all men and primitive man.
Were like that.
And many men would just.
Move on and move on and move on. But there were the exceptional men who would stay and raise his children. You know, in the insights.
I talk about love.
And love is a reflection to increased evolution. And the more evolved any animal is, from the insect to the dog to the human being.
The greater the love is.
So the man, the father who would stay and had a certain sense of duty and love, was the superior man. And Mother Nature did not want man raising the offspring of an inferior man. So the way Mother Nature dealt with that was to instill jealousy in man, to be more suspicious, more jealous, to have a more watchful eye on his female, on his spouse. So that's not my identification. That's the scientific that I had read before in my extensive reading.
