Wayfair, every style, every home. Hi everyone, thank you so much for joining me once again on another episode of Canny Crystals, the podcast. My name is Mart, and I'm your host with the most sore throat I have ever known to man. If you listened to last week's episode, you'll have heard all about me Christmas COVID, and just when I thought that was over, I now have somehow contracted a chest infection as well. So massive apologies in advance if I sound a lot croakier and breathier than usual. I'm like, oh yeah, I'd get a job as a sex line worker, no problem at all, with this husky voice. But yeah, I apologize. Live with it, I have to. So yeah, how are you all? What have you been up to? Are we all still sticking to our New Year's resolutions? Have we already fell off the bandwagon? At the time of recording this episode, I've just completed day 10 of my 75-day challenge. Woo! Day 10. So it was the 75-day challenge that I was talking about last week, by the way. I'm actually so surprised at myself. I haven't had any sugar cravings, I've not fancied a takeaway or anything, which if you know me is so unlike me. I've usually got a cake or crisps in me hands and, I dunno, a baguette in the other. I'm forever a fatty. I had a bit of a brainwave earlier this week about it all though. I was sat there thinking about all the money that I usually waste on takeaways, 'cause I do, and all the food that usually ends up in the bin because of that, like the food from me fridge. And when I added these two figures together of how much I spend on me food shopping and how much I actually spend on takeaways, I was spending roughly £100 a week on food. So when you think about, like, ways to stick to your diet and things, I was just having a little brainwave and it suddenly dawned on us. I would stick to my diet if I had nice food to eat in the fridge. Fucking obviously, as if that's a revelation in itself. But I mean, nice food in my fridge to eat would mean that I would stick to my diet. So this week I've stuck to my diet for 1 week without any cheat meals. I've been working out twice a day. I've been drinking me 4 litres of water. And I've been reading me 10+ pages of self-development every day. I weighed meself and I've lost 3.2 pounds. Woo! I've nearly finished the book I choose to read. Um, my skin looks a lot clearer, and I kind of just feel so much better about my mental well-being. So to treat myself and buy myself some nice food, I decided to level up this week. I took myself off to the Metro Centre and I went and did my weekly food shop— drum roll please— in M&S. Succulent M&S, like Marks Spencer's for those of you that don't know that aren't in the UK. Um, I could get a job as an M&S voiceover person, couldn't I, for the advert with this voice? Anyway, um, but for those of you not in the UK, M&S is an overpriced shop that sells absolutely fucking amazing food, but it's where like little old-age pensioners with attitudes go to spend their husband's pension money. Anyway, there I was swanning around M&S doing my weekly food shop, and I got so many nice things. If you've ever had food from M&S before, you'll know that they could literally sell you a tub of dog shit with some edible gold leaf on it, and it would taste like the best thing that you've ever put in your gob. So when I got to the till anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my full week's shop, including all my meat, all my veggies, my healthy snacks, my drinks, it all came to just £55. That might sound like a lot to some of you, as I understand £55 is a lot, However, when I'm buying like fresh meat and fresh food and fresh produce and stuff like that, because I'm trying to be healthy, a healthier food shop usually is a bit more expensive anyway. So not only have I leveled up now from my usual weekly Tesco shop plus my takeaways, I'm now putting myself in a position where the likelihood of me getting a takeaway was very, very slim because my fridge was now filled with like sexy, amazing tasting food. I was so happy with this little win, I just had to share it with you all anyway. But I'm saving myself £45 a week, which when you look at it is like £200 a month, just by treating myself to nicer food. That alone blew my mind. It just suddenly inspired me. I'm lonely and none of my friends care about anything like this, so that's why I'm telling you lot. It's my little story for this week anyway. I don't have to ramble on, do I? Anyway, let's get on with this week's episode. So, where were we? Last week I spoke about New Year's resolutions and to follow up on this, I wanted to kind of do an episode all about vision boards. I've had a few messages this week asking how I keep on track with my New Year's resolutions, how I set goals for the next 2 years, the next 5 years, how I envision where I want to be in the future and it just kind of made me think, okay, let's do this episode about vision boards. Then I can pinpoint people this way, if that makes sense. So I think it's probably best to divide this up into 3 sections. So I'll talk about what a vision board is, how they work, and then I'll talk about my experience of them, things I've manifested in my life because of them. And then lastly, I'll talk about how to make them. So hopefully this is going to be really, really fun and possibly inspiring for you all, and you'll get to work on yours as soon as you finish listening to this episode. So let's dive right in. What is a vision board? So for me, a vision board is basically either a physical or a digital board, because you can have both, where you would put all of your life's goals, your desires, your aspirations on this kind of mood board by way of pictures or quotes, that sort of thing. If you're like me and you have a— and you're a very visual person, this will work amazingly for you. So basically the idea is that by having this, you'll be looking at it every single day and all of those goals and desires will manifest into your life and they will start to come true. Now if you're not familiar with the Law of Attraction, I mean, you bloody should be, you're on episode 15, episode 16 I think it is. If you're not familiar with the Law of Attraction and manifestation, Stop listening to the podcast now. But yeah, this concept can seem very, very strange when you first start. However, there's so much scientific evidence behind making vision boards and how it supports the law of attraction and manifestation. So if you're not convinced, go and have a look at it yourself. I guarantee you will be amazed by some of the results that you do in your own research. So I first came across the idea of vision boards when I read The Secret, the book that I owe all of this to. And if you still haven't read it, I've been banging on about it since episode 1. Go and buy it, it's £7 or £8 off Amazon. I definitely recommend it because it has honestly changed my life. I reread this book all the time, The Secret, and just because it's like such a great book on gratitude, really explains what the law of attraction is and how to use it, that kind of thing. So in The Secret, it gives examples of people who have made these vision boards and then just forgotten about them. But then years later they'll go and find them and they'll realize that everything on their vision board has manifested into something real. And I'm not just making this up, this has actually happened to myself as well, which I'll talk about in a bit. So we all know by now that the Law of Attraction is a lot about your subconscious mind, and you've just got to imagine it's a bit like an iceberg. So your conscious mind is the tip of the iceberg that's hanging out of the water. But your subconscious is the rest of that iceberg under the water. So it's just so important to remember the huge chunk of your brain that you aren't consciously using on a day-to-day basis, but it's still taking everything in. So by having this vision board and constantly looking at these images, the symbols, the words, whatever it is that you stick on yours, it's really engraining that message in your subconscious to the point that every single day without realizing it, you will be doing things to get closer to your goals. So to make my vision boards, I tend to use the Instagram Layout app. If you haven't downloaded it, it's, it's literally just like a collage app by Instagram, but it's free. It's easy to use. And yeah, you just choose whatever photos you want to put onto your board, you upload them into this app, and then you can just move them around, resize them, swap them out for other ones, do whatever you want with them basically. If you prefer to, you could always get yourself a nice corkboard, like in the '90s, and get yourself some photos printed. You could pin each one to it. You could just stick photos and pictures on your fridge if you really wanted to, just so you've got something physical. But I'm living in the 21st century and I like everything digital. So I made myself a collage And once I'm kind of done, I'll put this vision board image on my phone wallpaper. I'll put it on my desktop screen, just anywhere that I'm going to see it daily and just somewhere where I'll notice it consciously or subconsciously, it's there, okay? So a few years ago, I made myself one and on it, I got some images off Google and off Pinterest. There's some lovely images on Pinterest, better than the ones off Google. Just of a few different things. So for example, I put a picture of a little Jack Russell on there because at the time I didn't have a doggy companion in my life and I was kind of desperate just to have one, just to have a dog in general really. I'm an only child, I have no brothers or sisters, so I just wanted like a little bit of companionship more than anything. I also had some symbolic pictures on there, like things like cash um, things like two champagne glasses clinking. There was a nice beach bit on there symbolizing a lovely holiday, and I then put on like a picture of the interior of a nice new car, as well as many pictures of how I'd envisioned the interior of my dream home. I even put a bank screenshot on there, like of my bank statement, but instead of like just putting me normal bank statement on there, I used the magic of Instagram. I put it as if I was gonna upload it to my story and I penciled white over the top of my actual balance and then I typed out the balance that I wanted to see in me bank instead and then saved that image. So it's like Photoshopping your bank statement basically. It's probably illegal, so don't use it for mortgage or anything like that. But I found quotes on Google such as affirmations that supported and encapsulated all of my kind of goals, and I put that in the center of my vision board to use this as my mantra for what I wanted to manifest. So I put all of these photos on me vision board, and I think the biggest thing for me with a vision board is that you might not necessarily know how you're going to do it and bring these individual things into your life, but you just have to know that you want it, and then things just sort of fall into place. Just give it love every day. Like I always say, forget the how, let the universe sort that out. You wouldn't necessarily order from Amazon or eBay or, I don't know, like your food shopping or whatever, and then wonder how your item is going to get to you and spend all your time worrying about how it's going to actually arrive. You'll place your order and you know that it will arrive, okay? So that's exactly what you have to do here. You place your order by sticking all your pictures on your vision board you do not worry about the how it's going to be delivered to you. Anyway, there's this app called FreePrints where you can select photos from your phone and have them developed to and delivered to your house. So like as an actual photo, for something like, it's like a quid, a pound. So I got me vision board delivered in photo form years ago, and I had a copy of this photo, of this like collage, next to my bed, a copy of it on my phone, it It was on my desk at work. I put a copy in my car. One was in my wallet. And as the years passed by, I just kind of forgot about it and started using other routes for manifesting what I wanted in life. I remember about a year ago, I came across one of these printouts in my drawers as I was cleaning out my desk at work to start working from home. And when I looked at my vision board on this little photograph, I was actually quite shocked So the car interior was the car that I now drove. There was me looking for a newer car all along, and I hadn't even realized that my dream car from years ago was now mine because I'd kinda just been too wrapped up in wanting the next best thing, if that makes sense. The bank balance on my board was now my annual salary, having moved jobs a couple of times since I'd made it. I'd been on the holiday of a lifetime for 3 weeks a few years ago, traveling around Thailand. Which was where the photo was taken on the beach on my vision board. And the photos of the interior of my home on my board were eerily similar to the decor of the house that I was now living in. It was so weird, but all these changes happened so gradually that I didn't even realize that I was living my dream and living my goddamn best life. And I've just kind of, like I say, been wanting the next best thing and chasing the next best best thing all the time. So like, you've heard us say like, I want a Range Rover now, but 8 years ago when I made this, I wanted a Merc and I wanted nothing more than a Merc. And now I drive a Merc, I want something else, which has made me really like ponder and think about a few things in life. So anyway, how do you make your own vision board? So I'd say that the best way to start for you is by writing down all of your goals for a set amount of time. So for example, roughly the next 2 years or 5 years, just so you can have this huge brainstorm in which you can list all of your goals. So this could be your career, your money, your health goals, your material goals, even relationship goals, literally anything that you want in your life that you see yourself in the next 2 years or 5 years or 10 years You want to get your backyard summer ready, but you don't want to break the bank?

Wayfair, every style, every home. However long you want to do this vision board for, just put it on there, okay? It's your goals, it's what you want to manifest, anything that you want in your life. So to do this, I find it best to— you don't have to do this, by the way, but I find it best to meditate, to explore your future, just to look at your values and your lifelong commitments. So this is something that you can either do now or you can fast forward this bit. You can save this and come back to it later. But I'm going to ask some thought-provoking questions to you, and all I ask is that you answer them silently to yourself in your head. But then what I also want you to do is just for now, grab yourself a piece of paper and place it in front of you with a pen, but don't write on it until I tell you to. Okay, so I'm going to ask you some questions, answer them silently, and at the end I'm going to ask you to write down on your paper. So answer these questions in your head. What kind of person do you want to be? What values do you want your life to affirm? When you look back at the end of your life, Who do you want to have been? Now, I'm not talking about your career or what you're going to do with your life. I'm talking about your character. When you look back on the other side of your life, what do you want to see? What is most important to you in your life? What kind of person are you becoming? Now, if it's safe for you to do so, this is the part where I would probably ask you to gently close your eyes, just clear all thoughts from your head, and imagine yourself. Okay, so you're going to meditate and visualize here. Imagine yourself traveling forward in time until you arrive at exactly 1 year from today. What do you see around you? Where are you? What can you hear? What can you feel? Who are you? What would you say to your future self? Where are you in terms of your dreams, your connection to your hopes and prayers? And where are you with your physical health, with your body, and how you feel about it? How is your relationship with your family? What is your relationship with your friends like? What new people are in your life now that just a year ago you dreamed of having in your life? Where are you with your belief in your own worth and your power? How courageous are you? What are you committed to? How big do you smile? Do you feel lighter or heavier, both mentally and physically? Are you more alive or are you less alive? Now imagine if all this was true. Imagine if everything that you just answered in your head and you felt were guaranteed to come true. How would you be sitting right now? Where would your shoulders be? What kind of a facial expression would you have? How would you be breathing? Now gently open your eyes and take a look at that blank sheet of paper in front of you. Make a list of how you are living in a year's time. Keep in mind that you can write this all down in linear form if you want to. You can write it in bullet points. You can do a mind map. You could do poetry if that's what inspires you. You could do a brainstorm. It's whatever works for you. This is your exercise. But that tends to be what I do. And like I say, you can come back to that little exercise later if you don't want to do it right now. But once I'd done all of this and I got my pictures together symbolizing what it was that I wanted. So if I brainstormed and I I could see myself living a more wealthy lifestyle, I might put a picture of some cash on or a picture of my bank statement, like I say. So once I got all my pictures together symbolising everything that I wanted, I would look at these images and it would make me feel super inspired. And obviously it always makes you want to work so much harder to achieve your goals if you can see what can be achieved when you put your mind to it. So like I said, you might want to put somewhere that you're going to see it every single day, just so that you can print it out, you can put it on the back of your door, you can make it your laptop screensaver, you can put it on your phone screensaver, on your lock screen, anywhere you please. That's whatever, like, whatever floats your boat basically. It's all down to you. I actually even created a private Instagram account um, over which I would use purely for posting photos. And I followed accounts on there that I didn't on my normal Instagram account. So I followed a lot of like inspirational goals accounts, you know, ones that like come up with all the quotes. Vex King is a really good one. I think he's @vexking, V-E-X King, and he posts a lot of inspirational quotes, that kind of thing. So it's kind of like my own little private space to have all of these ideas and thoughts and I would post pictures of the images that I use on my board as well. And I would just post these to my private grid. And that's just another way really of looking through your collection of goals in visual form and a different style of vision board. But ultimately it is still a vision board and my newsfeed was kind of inspirational quotes. So that might be something that you might wanna look into. It's free to do obviously as well 'cause you just sign up with a new email address. If there's a specific goal that I want to hit, however, I sometimes even make just a specific vision board for maybe the month or so ahead. So instead of looking at it in 2 years' time or looking at it in 5 years' time, for example, in January, seeing all of my goals visually for this month, like I can see it actually in front of me, it gives me something that I can work towards. So this month I've made myself a vision board and I've put a photo on from 4 years ago. I got absolutely ripped in the gym for when I was basically going to Ibiza for my 30th birthday. And I was hitting the gym like 6 times a week. My diet was on point. I'd never been more comfortable with my body. I had abs. Do you know what I mean? And I've put a photo of that on my vision board for January because that's what I want to achieve this month. I want to get back to a healthier way of living. I want to cut these takeaways out of my life. I want to get stronger. I want to get fitter, just generally better in my own health and feel better about my health. And that's basically what I'm kind of manifesting at the minute, my goals around health. So if I had a specific long-term goal, I could do a vision based around that goal itself. Like, for example, wanting to buy a nice house in the next few years. I could have one board entirely dedicated to that. And that way I'd just put more images of me dream home, me furniture, the decor, the garden space, you know, a lot more specific and in alignment with the thing that I'm wanting to achieve. Once I'd got my vision boards though, although I put them on my wallpaper in places that I kind of see them all the time, I wouldn't just assume that that would be enough. So when I come to meditate or do any kind of visualization— visualization? Visualization or Law of Attraction style manifesting, I'll kind of look at my vision board that I've created, and if I've put a vision of a car on there, I'll imagine myself inside that car. I'll imagine myself driving around. I'll be imagining the smells of that new car smell, you know, like the air freshener and things like that. What it sounds like to drive. What it feels like to drive, what the steering wheel feels like, who I've got in the car, who I'm talking to in the car, where am I driving to, what can I hear, that kind of thing. That picture of the beach symbolising the holiday that I had on my vision board, I'll be visualising and imagine how that sun feels on my skin, what noises I can hear, whether or not I can hear the ocean or the sea, what it feels like to be carefree and on holiday. You've got to bring that vision board to life. Don't just stick it there. Use your senses to help you do this. Give it some real emotion and real feeling. That way you give your love to it. And you know by now, whatever you give love to, whatever is on your vision board, that's what will come to fruition. It's actually really, really fun. I always love doing it. But yeah, there are a lot of different ways that you can do them. And I guess it all just depends on your personal preference in which you choose to do so. Then what I do is I'll save each one into a folder on my phone. I've got a folder in my photo albums just called Vision Boards. And every time I'm kind of lacking motivation, or maybe I just feel like I need some clarity, I'll go into that folder and I'll have a look through my boards and I just feel inspired to get on with my day. It really does put a smile on your face. So give that a try, let me know how you get on. And the last thing that I wanted to just mention today is I've had a massive restock on my website, cannycrystals.co.uk. You know by now, I mean, it's the name of this bloody podcast, isn't it? Canny Crystals Podcast. Um, but yeah, I've restocked on over 200 items and I've added 47 new items, I think it was. I've spent an absolute bomb. Please go and check it out, I really would appreciate it. I've put a couple of videos of the new stock on TikTok and Instagram as well, and I'm now also selling tektites. I know a few people have asked for tektites, uh, basically if you don't know, a tektite is like earth material that's basically been melted by meteorite impact and it's been smashed up into the atmosphere and then fallen to earth again because of gravity., and they often acquire like aerodynamic shapes when they partially melt on their return journey to Earth, so they're kind of like teardrop shape, and basically their benefits are that they can like free you from emotional attachment to material belongings, they'll release a fear of the future, they promote a feeling of freedom, and they also help you to reach a higher consciousness and raise endogenous healing powers basically. But yeah, like I say, I've restocked the entire website. Go and check it out, cannycrystals.co.uk. There's something for everyone, and there's lots more jewelry and stuff put on now as well. So yeah, crystals start from just £1. You really can't be robbed, can you? Um, yeah, basically that's it for this week. Thank you so, so much for listening, as per usual. To get in touch, you can follow me on TikTok or Instagram. My handle is @cannycrystals. Or my personal if you just want to see stories of how I'm struggling with my diet. Yeah, you can follow me @marttweedy on Instagram. I'm also on TikTok as well, but it's a bit boring. You don't really want to go on my personal TikTok. But yeah, I'll see you all next week. If you do have any messages, feel free to DM me. Let me know what you want to hear from this podcast. I'm always open to new ideas. And yeah, I'll see you all next week. Thanks for listening. And don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe. Thanks, guys. Bye.
