LinkedIn's algorithm now suppresses posts with external links, news content, and graphics. One creator saw engagement drop by a third after getting Top Voice status. Creators are moving links to comments to game the system.
I'm gonna go put this podcast up on LinkedIn in a short-form video, and LinkedIn does not like it, even if it is business-related content that's really good.
Yeah, I have some opinions on this subject. So about 2 weeks ago, I suddenly had a premium account, which I didn't pay for, and I also suddenly was a top voice. What's it feel like to be a top voice? Well, yeah, I was like, that's cool. About that same time was when everything changed on the algorithm. Suddenly, like, I was getting maybe a third the amount of engagement. I can't seem to post graphics. I can't post a lot of links to stories. So that's why you see a lot of people now and they have like, they post a photo and they say read more in the comments.
Yeah.
Basically they want to house their creators within their space to not send you elsewhere and then to promote less news sharing and what's happening and more of like thoughts and leadership. And they're just penalizing you for anything that's current.
