Voice AI deployment differs from standard software because it can't predict all the ways users will speak. Systems need a training phase where they gradually handle real orders to catch edge cases lab testing misses, especially for applications like food ordering.

Any operator that's interested in deploying voice AI needs to understand that this type of technology is not like deploying a SaaS piece of software where you simply install it and it begins doing exactly what you want it to do. It's just not possible to understand in advance all of the edge cases and all of the weird ways in which people order food without some type of training. So reputable providers of voice AI software will insist on having like a listening period or some type of a training period and sort of ramping up the speed at which orders are taken in order to account for those edge cases. Because otherwise, even if you're in lab and you've got staff that are, you know, training in lab, and even if you've got a bunch of outside, you know, people that are testing the system, you're still just not gonna be able to catch all those edge cases.
