Food is personal in a way software isn't. When you cook or run a restaurant, you're transmitting your own beliefs and culture through an embodied, sensory experience. You can't design a restaurant for others because you can't know what they actually want.
Food is culture. It is this incredibly personal thing. I think with software, you can build for other people. I don't think you can do that with food because you have to eat it. You're going to live it. You're going to smell it every single day. Food is an extension of self. I would argue the same is true for beverage. What you're trying to do is impart your belief system, your culture onto other people. And that being the case, I think that it has to come. from a very personal place. Because how, how could you possibly know what other people want?
