Hey, how are you today? This episode is part of our Soul series. So here's why I'm doing this. Here's why we're spending the next really six or seven weeks on this. All different topics, but all related to living from our inside out and different tools and modalities that will help us do that. So I'm in a lot of women's to do lists. Every Monday in Flow, 365 women, with my help and in community, comb through their to do lists and find the three most important things that they're going to focus on for the week.
I just want to be clear.
It's not that they're only doing these three things, but these are three things that they might put off and not do or they have put off and have not done for many months, even sometimes years. And they have a lot of meaning in their lives. They make a huge difference in living the most purposeful life or really feeding their passions, aligning with their future selves. That's all different ways that we can say it. And here are the two most important pieces of the choice process. The first is really knowing how to source the choice from the inside. The second is knowing that the fastest path is not always the most obvious thing. For example, your next launch might might not need more emails. It might need more confidence, which could 100% be an inside thing. Getting healthy may not be about eating any better. It might be about alleviating stress you're feeling. So reaching goals is not about doing more. It's often about less hustle and more inside work.
And so this is why I'm so.
Excited about the Soul series, because it will both give us more know how about sourcing from the inside and then also give us things that we might substitute in for writing another social media post or eating our kajillion salad, because these things are actually what might help move the needle towards what we're really wanting. And it's just not always obvious because most of us weren't taught all this. Reaching goals can be fun and restorative and soul filled, which is why we're having this series. So tune in. This is number one. I'm going to tell you a little bit more about this episode in one second. You can get the accompanying workbook@plansimple.com Summer if you don't already have it. That's a great place to take notes. And also typical MIA style, we have 40 plus pages of lots of insights and planning pages. It's really an activity guide that you can have some fun with this summer in this whole soul restorative. Let's get set up for fall journey.
All right, so today we are going.
To talk to Megan Siemens. I think you're going to love her. We're going to be talking about human design. We actually have two of our soul.
Talks on human design.
I don't know if I've reiterated this enough, and I don't want you to think that I'm not 100% doing this.
For you, because I am. But I'm not going to lie.
The reason that this all came up for me and that I'm super excited to give it to you is because it's part of what I needed this summer. I bought this human design blueprint, I don't know, maybe six months ago. It's pages and pages. I'll tell you about it on Instagram. So come tune into the conversation over.
There as well over the course of the next few weeks, today, whatever.
If you want to know where I got this blueprint and it's just been.
Sitting on my phone. So I have it wherever I go.
It's been sitting on my laptop and I just haven't taken it in. I took in a couple bits of knowledge at the beginning, but I really want to take it in. And so I wanted to go deeper with Megan and our guest on the next episode and really talk about human design and how it can be leveraged, how it can help us in the planning process and how it can help create more ease. And I have found that ease. If you haven't noticed, if you're, you're new here, you wouldn't have noticed.
But if you've been around for a.
While, I often talk about ease because it's one of the things that has.
Helped me really follow through and fulfill.
My goals the most. Because when I'm feeling at ease, I am often more able to take action. When I'm feeling stressed and tight and nervous and all those other things and overwhelmed, it's harder to take the next step forward, whether it's an easy step or a hard step. And human design really shows how your unique energy is designed to move with the most amount of ease.
And so I'm so excited to talk.
About this with Megan. We're going to start with the basics. She's going to go through the five human design types.
It's so good.
I hope that you enjoy it.
Just so you know a little bit.
More officially about Megan Siemens. She's a certified life and energy energy coach. She helps really big hearted humans create success without the stress of comfort zones, people pleasing or burnout getting in the way. And she teaches her clients how to integrate their human design so that they can balance out into life on purpose. And I'm super excited for us to learn from her today. So without further ado, let's get the amazing Megan Siemens on the show. Hey, Megan, welcome to the Plan simple podcast.
Hi.
I'm so excited to be here and pour all the goodness into your audience today.
Oh my gosh. So tell us, take us on the journey of how you got into human design. Like, how, how did you get to a place where this was the thing that you really love to share about?
Yeah.
So I've been in the coaching world since 2017 and I started my path in life coaching and I've always helped people kind of come back home to themselves. They tend to lose themselves in the career or in the roles that they've picked up. And really, I've always loved helping people understand the magic of you. I truly think that's like the greatest gift we can give to the, to the world is to be the most us version of us that there is. So human design kind of naturally fell in my pathways from clients. Various clients would just ask me, do you know about this human design thing? And truly at first I was like, don't like it. Do not want any part of it. I found out that I was a projector in human design.
Yep.
Wait, you're a what?
Tell me again.
I'm a projector. Okay, yeah, yeah, Projector in human design. And I'm sure we'll talk about the types. So if you're already like, what is that? I'm sure we'll get there. But I was like, nope, not me. Doesn't make sense. I'm definitely supposed to be a manifesting generator, which I feel like that's what. That's what you are, right, Mia?
Yes. Yeah.
Yeah. So I was like, no, thank you. But clients just kept bringing it to me. They just kept bringing it to me over and over and over. And I was finally. I think it was. Let's see. When did I really lean into it? End of 2019, early 2020. I was like, okay, enough clients have brought me it that I'm gonna lean in. I'm gonna just see what this system is all about. And I was pretty much hooked. I read the entire textbook of human design front to back in a single setting.
Oh, there is an actual textbook.
There's a full textbook. There is.
Oh, interesting. I didn't even know that for some reason.
Cool.
Yeah. Yeah. So I read the whole textbook cover to cover in one weekend sitting, and I was like, wow. There was just so much that unlocked for me, that unlocked for all of the people in my life. I started looking at their charts, and I was like, yes, it truly gives you language for the gifts that you already know, but you might need to come back to a little bit.
I love that. Okay, so it's funny because I'm just like, I'm stuck on this, so I have to say it out loud. But we've had two people in my group who are human designed coaches. Like, they use human design in their stuff. And both of them were projectors.
Yes. Yeah.
So I was like, I wonder if people who, like, are meant to share human design often are projectors. That's so funny. That's weird, because the same. And both of them had the same thing of, like. Because a lot of people who end up being clients of mine happen to be manifesting generators. But I do notice that happens a lot. But there are these projectors, and often they use human design in some level in their work, which is kind of.
Fascinating now that you said.
Yeah.
Right.
So will you tell us now that everyone's like, what are you talking about? What are all these things? Will you tell us about how it works? How we know what we are and what the types are?
Yeah. Yeah.
So you pull your human design chart with your birthday, your birth time, and your birth location. So those are the only three things that you need. From there, it just spits out this chart that has shapes and numbers and lines and colors, and it truly is a rabbit hole. There is so much. There's 2 billion different configurations of a human design chart. But the very first Place you generally start is your type. So that's what we've referenced to a few times. There's five main types in human design, and this really shows you how your energy is designed to move with the most amount of ease. And so that's kind of the tip of the iceberg. And the place to start and the place to really get into, like, experimenting with it all. Yeah.
Will you say what it does one more time? It's how you move with the most ease.
How your energy is designed. To move.
How your energy is designed.
Yeah, with the most amount of ease. That's right. Okay.
And will you give us some examples of how that might be different between different types?
Sure. I'll just run through all five types if that feels good.
Cool.
Yeah, great.
I think it'd be interesting to start with projectors, since you already mentioned them and how they kind of dive into human design. And that happens often because projectors are really here to be our guides. They have this bird's eye view perspective. And we love deep diving into a system. So once there's a system system that we kind of get aligned with, if we're hooked, we're hooked, and we're all the way in. So where I'm like, I read the book cover to cover, I found this system that just felt really good with everything in my being because it kept coming up to me again and again and again. And I was like, fine, I'm going to deep dive into it. So our projectors are guides. They dive into systems. They then are really known for helping people optimize and manage, manage their energy. Projectors aren't really designed to go, go, go all the time. Projectors need a lot of spaciousness in between. So our projectors might work in a sprint, get a lot of stuff done really fast, and then turn off, take a break, take some space. So many different ways, shapes and forms. But yeah, those are our projectors. And then, in contrast, we'll go to our generators. Our generators are designed to be our doers. They are our builders. They are our creators. Once a generator says yes to something and they start a project, they start an idea, whatever it is, they are designed to see it all the way through and to use up all of their energy in a really satisfying way in one day. And so you can see that subtle art of contrast there where our projectors might work a little more in sprints, our generators might just want to go, go, go, go, go, go, go and see it through. And to interrupt their energy might feel incredibly disruptive. And then we have our manifesting generators, which you are. And our manifesting generators are designed to be our multi passionate movers. They're designed to hold as many yeses as possible at one time. My multi or my, my manifesting generators who are multi passionate generally are usually doing like 27 projects at once. They're like, oh, I've just opened up a horse farm and I'm also coaching people. And I also just started a writing circle. And I also just started this new hobby as well. Is that you're. You're. You have the, the grin with you. Does that feel true for you?
100%. 100%. And it was so helpful to know that because that's one of those things, like, I'm sure we all have the thing that society has told us is wrong always. And like, for sure. I was just told I was add and like creative and I needed different things, you know, and it was like. But it wasn't like said with good gusto. It was sort of said negatively by much of how I was met.
Yeah.
You know, in school and whatnot.
Yeah, that's incredibly common with manifesting generators. Like, they're often told they're like super flaky. But that's literally how the manifesting generator energy is designed. It's designed to pivot and pivot fast. Once you decide there's a new direction, you're designed to go and follow that new direction.
Interesting.
And they really have a gift of showing us many different ways of being in this life. So we have our. Who have I left out? Okay, our manifestors. So our manifestors are kind of our bold, disruptive. They're the only energy type that's designed to just initiate without any kind of response from the environment or people or spaces around. They're really here to show us new ways of doing things and just give themselves as much freedom as possible to make those new ways happen. Our manifestors are. My favorite example of a manifestor is they're the person that you're sitting at a dinner table and all of a sudden they've got up, they've left the room, they've maybe left the house or the restaurant, wherever you're sitting, and you're like, where did they go? They have just like gone off to do their thing. That is, that is the manifestor energy. And then finally we have our reflectors. And our reflectors only make up 1% of the population. So they're our rarest type. And they're really designed to sample and amplify the energy of a space. So they really show us the health of a community. Reflectors tend to have a slower pace. This doesn't have to mean that they move super slow. It just means they create things in a little bit of a different way. They're constantly ebbing and flowing off of the environment, off of the space, off of the people around them. And they have this really potent and powerful energy when they are just letting themselves be fully present with it all.
Cool. Yeah.
And so quick deep dive.
I love that. But okay, and so then you also said that there's like a bazillion different ways. So how does that all get constructed? Like, how does, how does all that come together? Because that feels like we're in one of five buckets.
But yeah, yeah, yeah, I love a bazillion different ways. It's. It's a perfect way descriptor for human design. Yeah. So from there, that's just the energy type. So that's just how your energy is designed to move day to day with the projects you're doing. But then from there we have these other granular pieces of your design. Like, you'll see your authority, which is how you're designed to make decisions. Your profile, which is where your greatest opportunities come from. Your channels, which are your strengths, your centers, which is how your energy flows throughout your body. And if you can believe it, there's even more granular details in that. So if you just heard your energy type and you're like, wait a second, I am a generator, but I feel more like a manifesting generator. That's so totally valid. There's probably something else going in your design. We're all multi dimensional beings. We're not just designed to be one way. That's it. So it's just full of a lot of contrasts.
And what's the next, like, what's the. The next marker that you like looking at after what you are?
Yeah, I like to look at authority after that. So that's that decision making way of being. And that was one of my favorite elements when I finally let myself get into human design. Are you looking at what yours is? I'm curious. I am.
Wait, what is what we're looking at? Definite.
What are we looking at? Authority.
Authority. Inner authority.
Yes.
Wait for clarity.
Okay, so that's such an interesting contrast for a manifesting generator because the manifesting generator energy. Yeah. Wants to move fast, wants to do pivots and make things happen quick, but the emotional authority. And this is really designed for, like, big decisions. So we're thinking like, if you're going to move or if you're going to make a career decision or a relationship decision, it's going to be big decisions. It doesn't have to be like every time you're choosing something to eat for dinner or anything like that. But they'll wait for clarity or sometimes called emotional authority is at minimum, needing to sleep on it before you make your big decision. Because the, the thing that emotional authority, or wait for clarity authority tend to lean into is, oh, my gosh, I'm so excited. I'm going to jump on board. And then they wake up the next morning and they're like, I do not have the energy for that whatsoever. What was I thinking? Or they jump out at a really low, low, like, oh, this sucks. It's not working for me anymore. And then they wake up the next morning and they're like, but I was being a little dramatic. I can totally do that. And so for the wait for clarity, it's really about waiting for that emotional charge to be neutral. It's waiting for, oh, I just know instead of I'm charged and making the decision. Does that feel true for you?
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah.
And it's. It's hard. It's like one of the hardest parts I think of my thing because I, like, constantly want to go. And what I find is, like, I've started to, like, like, try to map it a little bit to time. But, like, I know when I have an idea, I'm, like, way ahead of myself. Do you know what I mean? It's like these fast downloads, and I know I'm like, yeah, I know I can't do it tomorrow, even though I feel like it should happen tomorrow. So, yeah, one of the things that's definitely helped me is to stay like, is to see how much I can find those moments of wanting to do new things. But, like, within one thing, like, we have one program that I've tried my hardest to stick to for, like, six years. But, like, I find creative moments in it. So I like, I play around with boundaries a lot, and that's really helped. And it makes sense now that you're saying that.
Yeah, yeah, that's such a. A great way to consider it. And really what our inner authority does is it just gives us that moment to come back to our inner voice and to get out of, oh, I'm going to spiral in my brain and just, like, try and figure it all out up here, or I'm going to make a decision based on what someone else says I can do. And it just brings us back to our own inner way of being, our own inner compass.
What are some of the other examples of inner authority?
Yeah, so we have sacral authority, which is following your gut. So generally these people are designed to tune into their body. It might be like a very visceral reaction. So I'm being pulled towards or I'm being pulled away from. My inner authority is self projected and so authority is designed to come through my voice. So talking it out loud, I am very often talking to myself until I hear the thing come through. And it's just this moment of like, oh, that was it. And I hear the thing come through and I'm like, yeah, that, that was the decision. And so I'm getting too caught up in my internal world.
Yeah.
So I mean there's, there's several other authorities, but those are a few examples.
I love it. Okay, so let's talk about using this. So you did, you did say at the very beginning that it can be a big rabbit hole, which I will fully admit. Like, you know, I start as I start following people's like I'm following you and I'm following different people who share about human design. And it's like, oh my God, like, you know, you can just. There's so many nuggets.
Yeah.
That you could spend forever. I bought some report that I read all the time, but so it's like. And every time I read it, like I hear something slightly different. So it's like, how do we use this? Like, how do we implement this? How do you recommend navigating? Making this not just another shiny object that like television that takes us away maybe from even our own design, but helps us to really integrate it into the things that we're meant to do here.
Yeah, I love this question so much because I am so about integration over information when it comes to human design. Because it's really, it's all about coming back to yourself and why are we rushing that? Like we have a whole lifetime to be ourselves.
Yes.
Oh my God, I love it.
So I, my recommendation is doing exactly what you said already. Like if you have access to a report, if you go onto my website, I'm sure we can link the link up in the show notes. There's a spot where you can pull your human design chart for free. And I have the different elements that we've chatted through today listed out in there with some descriptions. And so go ahead and pull that first information and just see what you are drawn towards. Maybe it is your type, like I talked about. However, I also shared I had huge resistance to my type when I first found human design. And so I needed that second entry point. So where I really started was with my authority in human design. So notice what are you drawn towards and then use that as an experiment for whatever time frame you want to lean into. Just noticing, how does that show up for me? How does it feel when I'm not doing that? Are there any examples in the past where you noticed that this worked really well for yourself or it didn't work so well, and what was maybe out of alignment for you there? So I would say get that initial point of information and just start leaning into it piece by piece. A lot of my clients will do, like you said, put their guide on their phone, or they'll even print it out and keep a hard copy, like on their desk and just kind of use it like an oracle. Open up to a spot and be like, ah, interesting. How can I lean into that a little bit more today?
Yeah, I love that. So I think that's a great idea. Like, it's literally like instead of an org, like, you just open it to that point and see what's there. That's so great. And I imagine that also, like, if you're in the midst of something, like making a big choice or then it would be helpful to lean, like, just remind yourself how you might navigate that choice in different ways.
Yeah, a hundred percent.
That's so true itself.
Yeah, it's like a. It's a tool in your toolkit. Right. So if you're feeling a little bit stuck, if you're feeling caught in an area of your life, you can just consider like, well, what's the thing that feels misaligned here? And go to that and then reverse engineer it back into flow, back into alignment.
So can we talk? I mean, so around here, very often we're setting goals. So. And I feel like an important part of that is, you know, having the goals right, which I so like, as I'm thinking through human design, I'm like, oh, depending on what your design is, it's like it might affect how, like, which goal to choose. Right. And then we have to, like, make the path toward the goal, which is sort of what you were just saying. And then we have to show up to take action.
So how can human design help us.
With those three things? Like, what do you feel like is the most supportive way to let it help in all the different stages? Because we've talked a bunch about decision making, but I'm wondering About, like, the other pieces of just. And of just showing up to things.
Yeah.
Well, I think with human design, there's also a big deconditioning element that we haven't touched on quite yet. And this is kind of like I touched on in the beginning of my story when I was like, oh, it's a projector. But I was like, no, I'm certain I'm a manifesting generator. And a part of me really had to look at, well, why do I want to be that? Like, what are the stories that are running that for me? And for me, it was, well, if I took that spaciousness that's important for a projector that's labeled as lazy. What are you doing? Get to work. You're supposed to be doing things. Go, go, go. Keep up with everyone else. But really my process is a little bit slower paced. It has a little bit more spaciousness. And this doesn't mean I'm slow paced and can never go, go, go, and can never do the work and flow at, like, all times. It's just honoring my energy. And so I think there's this deconditioning process of noticing what. How have I been operating and what story is keeping that in place? Then you can get into that space of alignment of like, okay, if I'm operating from myself, my whole self, and not these stories that, you know, parents, teachers, society have laid on me, what do I actually want and why do I actually want that? And so it's coming from that place of self versus creating a goal from someone else.
Yeah.
Which is what we talk about all the time around here. So I love that.
Yeah, yeah. And that's really what human design is all about. It's just coming back to you. It's coming back to your core way of being and shedding away those stories that just aren't working for you. And then from.
Yeah, oh, go ahead.
Well, I was gonna say, and then from there, I think there's some of those more granular elements that can help you with, like, the pathways and different things like that. I think profile is a great piece to help you find pathways and opportunities, which we can open up that part of the design too, if we want to.
Wait, you said profiles?
Yeah, yeah.
Profile. It's two numbers.
I'm a. I'm a four, six.
Ah, so am I.
Really? So interesting. How many different profiles are there?
Oh, my goodness. How many different profiles are there? I can't think of how many there are off the top of my head, but there's six lines. And then combinations between the six lines. So it'll always be two numbers. Like 4, 6, 6, 2.
Got it.
Yeah. Yeah. And. And these are cues that can show you what pathways your opportunities are going to come with the most amount of ease. So for you. And we can run through all six profile lines if we want to. But the 4. 6. The 4 is all about your greatest opportunities, coming from your network, coming from your inner circle. And then the 6 is the role model. And that is really being someone who can offer the big picture, the perspective, the zoomed out view, versus getting so caught up in the details, which I love your. The way that you approach planning because it feels like it has that big picture element to it. Like, I feel like most people who are approaching planning get really caught up in the details, but I feel like that six is in action there a little bit.
It's super interesting because also, like, one of my superpowers is being able to see that for other people. Right? Like, so I can very easily see when people are in the weeds, but I also can very. Like, it's like, it's almost like this, like, weird patterning. Like, I can't even explain it, but the second someone tells me they're weeds, I'm like, oh, like, I can. I can automatically see that. So that's very interesting. So cool.
Yeah. Oh, that's. Yeah.
So you can see how, like, I mean, just in things that I'm thinking about today, you know, it's like you can see just in little things. You know, I've been thinking about.
We.
We are. We have launched a course recently. We're always thinking about, you know, next things. And. And it's like, sometimes I can get really hung up on, like, well, should I be writing more Instagram posts?
Should I be doing this? And. And everyone tells me all the time.
Like, how amazing my network is.
And.
But it's like, you don't always go to that, you know, like, and I.
Might be able to spend hours writing.
Instagram posts, but it's like, I can also see how that's not my thing. I should probably be spending hours talking with people who have other people. And that, like, probably would help me much more. And I can, you know, you can see how. Wow, that's such an easier way to, like, figure out the path.
Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, my gosh. I love that example because it feels like the entire process we just talked through of like, okay, I'm going to shut away this story that says, like, I need to write more Instagram posts. I'm going to show up on social. Okay, I'm going to come back to what feels good for me, which it actually does feel really good to chat with my inner circle. And then using that for. In human design of like, oh, there that is. Looking at me right in the face like, okay, that actually would probably be a really great place for me to lean into.
Yeah.
Yeah. And I feel like that's. So that's such a good example as well, of, like, how we use our time. Because it's sometimes hard to imagine, you know, we can all go down the rabbit hole of looking up our human design, and many of us will come out of that rabbit hole and be like, what the hell did I just do? I was supposed to be doing X, Y and Z. Right. Like, you know, I had planned on this, and all of a sudden here I am, like, out of the rabbit hole. But if we do it kind of systematically and go figure out our thing and get a report and.
Yep.
Talk with someone like Megan and, like, really understand.
Yeah.
What it is. And that takes time. Like, it does take time. It does take time. But I can tell you that I'm gonna use that, like, in next. When I get off, when. When we're done talking, I'm gonna be like, where am I not using this ability of me to source from community and from people? Like, where am I fighting that and doing something different when I already know that that's how I'm made? And, you know, I do know that.
Yeah.
But it's funny because it's also the thing I question the most. So that probably comes up all the time, Human design. But it's like, with just. Even with that reminder, I can see how I save time, you know, And I don't spend the next two days thinking about the social media posts, only for the thing. Not that social media posts are bad, but, you know, I can spend a lot of time in content creation, and there's probably an authority that's much more suited to always be creating content.
Yeah. Yeah.
I don't know if that's true, but probably there is.
Yeah.
I mean, I. I love this so much, and it's just like, what if we give ourselves that spaciousness to lean into what feels good and what if that just opened up more for us? Like, I find that I'm also a 4 6, and I find that when I take that time to lean into my network, to lean into my community, that all of the sudden, like, the writer's block dissipates. I'm like, oh, I've Been trying to write posts for days, haven't been able to, but then I leaned into that strength a little bit, and then all of a sudden, out of. Out of nowhere, it all kind of rushes through, and I feel like that's what coming back to our gifts can really allow us to do.
Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, there's so much. I mean, we all, like, there's no doubt that most people listening to this have. I feel like I need to be putting up air quotes even though people aren't seeing it. But we all have, like, we all have too much. We all have too, too much that we maybe could do. Like, we're just living in a world of too much. And, you know, we'll probably look back on this time and just be like, what was humanity thinking? You know, like, because many of us, like a lot of the responsibility that we have, it just sort of piled up and we landed here. So I just feel like whenever we can really be sourcing from our insides, which this is just a reflection of that, we just find the faster path. Like, we, we. We have the next step. And I really don't believe that we. Even though the world is moving so fast and we're having to take on more. Like, I believe when we have the idea, like, oh, I think I could actually help my mother and take care of her in a different way. Or like, oh, I think I'm gonna make this course. I mean, clearly in my numbers, I need to pause and wait and like, have the idea. Like, I, I will take, I take that to heart.
Yeah.
But also, I don't think we would think of it if we don't at some, in some timeline have the capacity.
Yeah.
It's just, how can we use this.
To, like, figure out how that will unfold? How, you know, how, how to best have the capacity. I guess.
Yeah. Yeah.
I feel like that even comes back to what we were chatting about at the beginning of, like, what's the rush? What if instead you honored the capacity, you honored your flow, you honored what felt good and it unfolded better than you even imagined.
So you obviously have been doing this for quite. For a few years. So how do you find if we go back to this idea of Rush and how sometimes we want to do that because, you know, it's a fun. You read the whole book in a weekend.
Yeah.
So. And, and, and that's part of your.
Yeah.
Human design. Right, is to do that. It's definitely not part of my human design. So what, like, how can this unfold? Like, what is a way that you see it unfolding and how do we slow ourselves down so that we can really use it? Because I imagine there's a lot of people who go down a huge rabbit hole, get all excited and then like forget two weeks later.
Yeah.
And it's not really utilized.
Yeah, yeah.
So I think what it comes down to, I mean, I feel like a broken record. I feel like I've said it a few times, but it's really just, it's knowing you. Right. And I think there's this element of trust, of you already know you. It's maybe just awakening some pieces again. And I'm not concerned if you leave learning about human design, whether you leave a session, whether you leave working with me for four months and you remember consciously, oh, that is my four in action. It's not about I need to know every single element. It's just like, can I know me and can I trust that I know me? And it's finding these little pieces of language and anchor points that bring you back to remembering what ease feels like. And to me, when I talk about Rush, it doesn't necessarily mean you're moving fast paced. To me, rush is like a pressure. Right. And so am I putting a pressure on myself or am I creating ease? Because when I read the book cover to cover, that felt like ease to me. Right. It didn't feel like I was like, I must read, must consume, must, must finish book cover to cover. It was just like, wow, this is so easy and I'm so captivated and I can't look away. And that, that's really what you're coming back to. And so I think it's this trust of like, I know me and I can let go of the stories that are off.
Yeah.
I was at a retreat that I was sort of holding space. Like, I wasn't a participant in the retreat, I was helping lead the retreat. And somehow there was like three people who like did human design there. And so the like everyone at the beginning was talking about human design. It just became like the thing. So after the first night of dinner, I understood, like everyone had talked about it enough that like you could kind of tell people's different things.
Right.
And it's really helpful. Yeah, it's like really helpful because, you know, in a retreat setting, people are trying to grow and evolve and like do new things. And then you're like, oh, but like, you, you can start to see where I mean. And this was a room full of people who like, know how to operate from the inside out.
Yeah.
But we're human.
Yeah.
And so it's so easy to, like, even hear what the person next to you. Like, how you wanted to be a manifesting generator. It's probably just because, you know, you were in, like, amongst a bunch of successful entrepreneurs who can sometimes be manifesting generators. And, like, it's so easy to, like, want those things. Hold on. It's so easy to. To want those things outside of us, even when we're somebody who normally operates from the inside. So it's. It's really. It's. It's really cool, I think, as well, to start to understand, like, it helps. When you said ease, I was like, oh, that's so. That's so good. Because it really does mean that ease is an internal thing. You know what I mean? Like, I think we're always looking for.
Easy, how it looks in pictures, how.
It looks in Instagram, but, like, ease really is an internal game, and it's so different for everybody because reading an entire book in a weekend is not my idea of ease.
Yes.
Oh, my gosh. I. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that. I. That's so true. And I talk about ease quite often, and it's so true. It's an internal state. And that doesn't mean, like, life is easy. It's rainbow and some butterflies. It's just like, can I hold myself through it? Whether it's really and really extraordinary chapter or a really hard chapter, can I hold myself through it? And what if that was ease?
Yeah.
I love it. Okay, so what questions have I not asked that I should ask?
I always love that. What questions? I feel like we've dove into so many elements of design. I feel like I think we did good.
Yeah.
Like, really masterfully covered so many good pieces of design.
Yeah. So I feel like for anyone listening, if you go pull your design if you don't know it, and I knew mine, but actually, recently I just went and pulled it again. First of all, my mother always tells me that I was born at 11:45, and actually on my birth certificate, it's 10:24 or something.
Yeah.
So I, like, I kept being like, I don't know how minute to minute it has to be, but I was like, what if some of the things are different? You know, it's still a manifesting generator, but I haven't gone back and compared, but I was like, what if the things are different? So I went and repulled it.
Yeah.
But also, it's just, like, it just brings it. So I recommend everyone just, like, do it. So that you have the printout, you know what the things are and you can refer it. And then it's like. And then maybe it's like just before.
You'Re making a plan for whatever it.
Is next week, your summer vacation. It's like, what if I just glanced at it and like learned something new about how I can do this?
Yeah.
Yeah, I love that. And you kind of opened up a great question there of what if I don't know my birth time? So maybe we should.
Oh, good. Let's answer that. Okay, let's do it.
Yeah, you brought up a really good point there. It's a common question of like, oh, if I'm not sure what time I was born, does it matter? And as you saw when you pulled your chart again, oftentimes the big things won't change. The type might change from morning to night, but the smaller things might change. So get as close as possible. If you're like, I don't know if it was 9am or 10am, that's fine, go ahead and pull it. You'll get to know your type and stuff like that. But if you were going to go into a more intimate kind of reading or session or anything like that, you might want to get those kind of more detailed, minute to minute elements in there.
Yeah, that's funny.
I was actually going to play a game and I was like, I wonder if. Even though she had no idea what it was and still doesn't what human design is. I was like, I wonder if I was treated more like the person, whatever all the qualities that were at that other time than this time. But I haven't gone back to that level of detail. But I'm like, it's so fun. It's so good. And it's. I personally, I think I use it most in business.
Yeah.
But like, I feel like it's one of my favorite tools for business. Like, it is one of my favorite tools for business. I will say that, like, because really is about how our energy comes to. And I feel like I make more big decisions in business on a more regular basis. Like I haven't moved in a while. Like, I haven't had many like huge life decisions.
Yeah.
And another fun thing is to do your kids.
Yes.
Right. Because that's so helpful. And we all, like, we can usually find their birth certificates.
Yeah. Yeah.
So good.
Yeah.
I love business dynamics with human design are wonderful. I truly think I was fully hooked in human design when I looked at my husband's design and when I saw his gifts and his Elements and the way he leads in our relationship and the way I lead in our relationship. There was something so cool about that. So, like, relationship dynamics are fantastic to dive into as well. Whether it's your kiddos or your partner or anything like that, I love it.
Well, thank you so much for this.
Will you tell everybody how to find you? Like, what's the best way to interact with you?
Yeah, absolutely. I'm so grateful for this conversation today. So I'm pretty much everywhere on the Internet. Eganseemmons. So website is Megan Siemens. You can pull your human design chart over there at megansiemens.com hd-chart and my favorite platforms, Instagram. I love hanging out on the Instagram stories. So you can come let me know you found me from the pod and what your human design type is, because I always love to hear that.
I have one last question.
Okay. I love it.
How do you explain it to skeptics?
Yeah, I think just owning that. Yeah. It is kind of wild and mystical and ultimately there's nothing to believe in. So if you like it, take it. If you don't, leave it behind.
Yeah. All right, cool. Yeah.
Well, and maybe pull yourselves in a person's or something. Maybe they'll see it in somebody else.
Yeah, cool. Yeah, yeah.
Lead with curiosity. I love it.
Yeah.
All right, well, thank you so much. This was so fun.
Thank you. Such a great conversation.
At the end of every episode, we always share three doable changes so you can take what you've heard and put it into action. And so we're not going to change things up just because we're doing more episodes.
We're going to give you lots of.
Different actions you can take.
But here's the thing.
Please choose one of these things. Choose the one that really resonates with you and make it happen. Try to hold one thing at a time. That's a really important part of following through in a way that feels really good to your body and your soul. All right, here we go. Doable change. Number one from my conversation with Megan. Get your human design chart. So if you don't already have that, if you don't know what you are, I hugely recommend going and getting your chart done. And even if you just know from.
The perspective of what of the five.
Types you are and you don't know all the other details, I hugely recommend.
Getting your whole chart done because there's.
Lots of really insightful details deeper down that are the unique you beyond your type. And we're going to keep going in the next episode.
With this. So go get your chart done.
There's a link in the show notes. Megan has it straight from her site. And you'll. You'll see your identity. You'll identify your type, your authority, your profile, and your channels. And you don't have to know what it all means. The whole reason that we're here doing this series is because I got my.
Chart made, like, I don't know, six.
Months ago, and I haven't really fully integrated it, learned it, started planning from it, and so that's why we're here. I'm here doing this with you, so just get it done. You don't have to know all the things yet. All right, number two, explore one part of your chart again. You don't have to learn it all at once. You could read more about your type or your authority. You could order a book. You could search online. You could schedule a call with a human design specialist. Remember, your goal is to learn more about yourself, not get all the details of human design firm in your head. All right, doable change. Number three, ask yourself, how can I lean into who I am? If you're getting stuck, notice if there's something from your chart that you could lean into, a strength or a better way of decision making. What happens when you let go of old stories and what you should do and choose a path of more ease? Just experiment. Open up that report. See what jumps out at you. I am not joking, but the first.
Thing that jumped out at me six.
Months ago in a moment when I was just feeling super constrained by time and reaching a goal in a certain time frame was all about how my time is. In my 50s, you all. I just turned 49, so I'm not even there yet. And it just took this edge off. And then I leaned into my goal in a different way, and I reached it in a different way than I even expected. It was better, and it was because.
I was so, like, tight.
And then this one thing sort of freed me up. It allowed me to surrender. So you never know what it can be. All right, choose the one that resonates with you most and I will see you on the next episode. Which hint hint is going deeper into human design. This is my week of human design. Also, come join us on Instagram. I will be sharing what I learning, what I'm doing, what I'm integrating throughout the week.
Thank you so much for joining me today. If you know a woman who wants a little more simple and a lot more flow, share this episode and send them over to the Plan simple website to download our free course and if you can find a five minute window today between meetings in the carpool line while you're eating your lunch, head on over to itunes and leave us a review this one Action plays such a big part in helping other women find us and I have so much gratitude.
For you in advance.
So thank you so much. Until next week, dream big, plan from your heart and have a great day.
