A short YouTube monologue (Mike Andes) describing a gate hinge alignment problem on a trailer: the hinge is about an inch (bottom) or half-inch off, preventing the gate from latching. The speaker considers quick fixes such as shaving or bending the hinges and notes the gate swung open on the trailer, indicating a safety issue.
Now we got ourselves another problem. I realized that this is not lined up correctly, and these hinges have somehow, this will not latch. It's a good inch off on the bottom. And I tried everything I possibly could, but I think we're gonna have to, like, shave a little bit off or potentially bend these hinges a bit. But these are not going to fit. It's a good half inch off. Oh, brother. My gate. The gates on my trailer just came swinging open onto a.
Horrible.
See, look at this. It's hitting, like, way below.
At least an inch. It's not like these were hit. And if they were hit when it was, like, getting dumped, it would be the opposite way. You'd be pushing them up. So I'm gonna have to bungee them together for now. Figure out a better solution.
