BUILDING OUR HOME GYM!

Mike Andes and a co-host set up a home gym with a StairMaster, declutter their space, and share travel hacks for staying fit on the road. They also landed a building permit for a five-acre headquarters with a Bellingham shop, breaking ground in March or April.

Good morning, you beautiful people. It is Monday. We are back. We spent yesterday just catching up on a lot of stuff and basically getting back into the groove of things. For today, I feel amazing. I got nine hours of sleep last night. I'm ready to absolutely crush it. Today I have a media team meeting and a lot of book orders to fulfill, like, over 40. So it's just a combination of the free books Mike is giving out plus the collection that is being sold on his YouTube. That's pretty much it. So I have a lot of book orders to fulfill. Let's head to the office. I'm also taking my second meal of the day. Doesn't that look so delicious? It's oats with strawberries and egg whites. Definitely the most weird meal of today. But it's food, it's fuel, it's edible. It meets the criteria. Now let's go to the office. Look who came to visit me while I've been fulfilling the orders. Yeah, exactly. What are you working on today?
What am I working on today? Yeah, Lots of video stuff. Tomorrow we got a guest coming in. Next week, we have the turnaround show we're traveling out to, and we're meeting up with Jonathan Patosnik. So that's gonna be fun. But, yeah, just catching up a bunch of stuff. Lots of media stuff.
Lots of media stuff. All the fun stuff.
All right, folks, we just got back from the contractor's office, and we have secured our building permit for the new headquarter building. So this map shows all the wetlands and the craziness that we've had to do, the setbacks, etcetera, it's five acres. This one shows where the building is going to be at. And this is going to house the Bellingham shop and probably at least the media team to get started. Started. But we're gonna need a bigger building eventually. So next month, once we break ground. So we should be breaking down in March or April. Once we break ground, we're going to propose this new building, which is going to be, like, four times the size that would then be able to house us once we leave the current office. We have this lease for four years, so we got plenty of time to build a second building, but that's the plan. And so it's kind of cool because we finally got the building pro after four years, figured it out, and we got the golden permit. And best of. Yes, best of all, banna got me.
Grilled cheese. It looks very sad, but it was made with, like, keto naan bread. Jump scare. I just got Microneedling done. So excuse the redness. I did not get in a fight. I just got stabbed with a lot of needles. But there's a few updates going on in the Andy's household apartment. Hold whatever you want to call it. I set a micro goal for my myself, like, basically a weekly goal, and this week, that is to get this place organized. I've, like, chipped away at it. I haven't really, like, done anything major, to be honest. You guys. I think we're gonna get rid of the sauna and, like, just have a storage there of some sort either. I get rid of this, too, and then just, like, have a long, I don't know, like, storage situation. Like, what do you call that? Counter extension with doors. Why am I blanking on what that's called? Oh, my word. You know what I mean? Anyways, might get rid of the sauna. Tbd. I would feel a little bit bad doing that. Mike totally gave me the green light, because that thing takes forever to heat up anyway. But it's just a headache to get rid of. I'll take you to the dump and whatever. Anyways. Well, that one is TBD for now. Our pantry. This actually looks a little bit better than it did before because I've been, like, trying to get to it, but it still drives me crazy. Like, disorganized to the max. I hate it. I hate it. I've, like, gotten some of these clear containers that are, like, it. It sucks all the air out. Whatever. Vacuum seal. Anyways, I have some of those. So, like, that part of the pantry is kind of organized, but the rest looks atrocious. I wish I took a before picture or at least, like, showed you guys the before. But this area, I clean up a little bit because I got this magnetic knife holder. Dude, you guys, look. The knives just magnetized to the thing. I used to have, like, a big old chunky knife block right there in the corner where the food scale is. And it just looks so much better. Just don't look at that. Look at the rest. Like, that just looks better. So I want to figure out what to do with the rest of this, because I want to get this off the counter. It just looks messy. Also, I got this little paper towel holder because it used to sit right there, taking up too much counter space. That's kind of what I'm going for right now. I'm trying to, like, get stuff off of counters, make it look organized, because we're not sure when we're going to move. You know, it's still tbd. So we might. We just love where we live. And we've said it so many times on here, you probably are so tired of hearing it. We don't know when we're going to move. But anyways, in the meantime, I'm trying to optimize the space as much as possible. That being said, we're adding to our gym room. So this is currently what it looks like. And in about 10 minutes, there's gonna be a StairMaster right there. The guy is on his way and I'm so excited to get that in here. I can now do my cardio at home because I mostly do Cardio on the StairMaster. My coach has me doing cardio five times a week for 20 minutes. And it would be just so much more convenient if I could do it here and not at the gym after my lift. I can just do it whenever I want in the day that's being added. That corner, I cleared it out a little bit. And then we have our dumbbell rack, which I disassembled, or I took the dumbbells off just in case I have to move it. It'll be a little bit easier. So, yeah, things are getting moved around here and I'm so excited. I try to make this place feel a little bit more permanent, more homey in every way I can. I'm so excited to get the StairMaster. I'll check back in whenever it's here. So you all get to see the StairMaster at the exact same time Michael does. Like you're right here with him.
Well, I did see the photos on that family chat.
Well, true. Forgot about that. But in real life, you know.
All right, I'll be surprised. Okay. Whoa. That's so dope. That's so cool. Look how meaty that thing looks.
Isn't it? I was actually kind of scared it wouldn't fit in here. Like height wise or something. Yeah, it got a little scraped up.
Oh, no, no, no, not that way. Straight. Wow.
It's a beast, man. I'm surprised it fit to your.
Feels even more a beast.
I know it does, because it's like.
Not in a gym setting, but our.
Gym room's coming along. You know, we got the treadmill, little dumbbell set right there, and now the StairMaster.
So if you buy this thing without owning a gym. It was like $11,000.
Yeah.
And it was 4, 500, right?
Yes. Almost 5,000.
Almost 5,000. Which is a lot of money, don't get me wrong.
But we got 50% off just because he owns a Gym. That's crazy.
Because they're preferred vendors, and that's why you join a franchise. Yeah. After reading the. What is it? Art Psychology.
Art of spending money.
Art of spending money. That's how I'm like, you know what? We would both get a lot of value doing the treadmill and thing. And then that's when I moved my office to the office.
Let's go.
Yeah. Big fan.
He's gonna do his cardio on this after dinner.
Okay, so this is my yellow pelican case. I use for packing. Well, not packing. I use for traveling. We're gonna see if I can pack for the next turnaround show in the next three minutes. Now, I do cheat a little bit. I always preload the suitcase. I already have saline. My noisemaker. I have my shaver. I have my hair stuff, like my. Whatever it's called. That's right.
Pomade.
And then I got my cologne and my contact solution. Now, inside of here, these are the hats.
Four.
Four packing cubes. Okay, so what we're gonna do is we're gonna see the next. 3. 3 minutes I can get ready now. I have not prepared anything. So we're gonna see. Okay, you ready?
Three minutes. One, two, three, go.
Okay, cool. All right, so first off, we've got to establish. We have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Five days. Okay? So first off, I intend. You always bring one extra pair of underwear. You know, just a taste.
Only one extra pair. I bring, like, an extra pair for every day.
I got focused. 1, 2, 3, 2. No, no, I do, I do, I do, I do.
Two pairs per day.
Okay, there's the socks and the shoes and then my pajamas. And. Okay, that's the first packing cube. Packing cube one. Done. Okay, next we got a polo shirt from homeworks. And I got this.
Okay, that's a cheat. You already had it laid out on the floor. But whatever it was, it is.
It's cheat.
How.
How much longer?
Two minutes and ten seconds.
Okay, pants. Backup pants. Just insert these. These are going to be for my. What I wear during the actual shoots. And then we also have a interview with John Butoshnik in Dallas. Okay, next one. Okay, shirts. First we do a homework shirt. Another homework shirt.
How much do y' all want to bet he's gonna forget something?
Okay.
No, find out on the trip. Okay, Put your guesses in the comments. What hope we got.
Okay, so all the shirts there. Oh, wait, we're. We're traveling tomorrow.
Just wasted five seconds. Got one more minute.
So then we got pants. One pair of pants. For tomorrow. 2 days, 3 days, 4 days. How much longer?
45 seconds. The packing method is insane. Not even folding.
Yeah, that's why we have Lulu. So you just throw everything. Okay, so there's packing only 1, 2, 3, 4. Okay, now we just need shoes. How many long pants?
23 seconds. You're not gonna make it. 100% gonna make it 20 seconds.
This goes for tomorrow. And then there. Oh, and then.
10, 9, 8, 7. Really? Yep. All right, so what'd you forget? Did you get socks?
The only thing I didn't pack correctly or like, really pack is my computer, but I'm gonna use my computer the rest of the day. But that would go in my yellow bag. This would usually go alongside with my. My laptop, my iPad, and my electronics.
Great cardio session.
But I need to work on those things today still, so that's the only thing I need to pack. Also, I use my. Actually, everything in here is good. So I try to have two of everything when it comes to toiletries. And then I have it where I can just take this and it goes off my desk in here. That's why it was so fast. We efficient.
Manza see if Michael's packing method holds up during this trip. But we're on our way to the airport, so we are flying into Tampa for a turnaround. And then from Tampa to Dallas next week, we're going to also be doing a turnaround, but meeting up with a friend of Mike's.
Tuesday, we're going to Dallas. Well, is it McKinney?
Yeah.
So he doesn't live far from there, so we're gonna go to his house and do a little podcast situation, which would be great because I haven't talked to him in over a year. I was fortunately about a year ago at Equip Expo, there was like a little gathering beforehand, and then I was able to spend like a solid evening with him to come out for dinner and things. So really great to know him. He's obviously, if you don't know who he is, he sold Service Autopilot. He's a co founder of Service Autopilot and he sold in 2019, I think it was. And so he's been traveling the world and doing cool stuff and I still like to talk to him about business, though. So basically built the size of software side business. Like that's like the next step for co pilot soon to be homework.
I'm pretty excited to meet Jonathan petitioning or at least listen to what you guys have to say because Mike has spoken very, very highly of him. So I'm very much looking forward to that. I'm also just looking forward to having a pretty chill turnaround because we're meeting up with Terrell, just one of the videographers, and it's going to be a great, great time.
Packed all her food.
I packed as much food as I could to still stay on my meal plan, and I'm. The ice packs pull through. The food stays frozen until we get to the hotel.
Did you show them the cooler bag?
I did not. I'll have to give you guys a cooler bag tour at the airport.
He's drunk. Traveling luxury, you know.
Right.
So we got to see if this $22 pack is going to be sufficient, though, because if not, then we got to upgrade.
There's this, like, yeti, cooler backpack, things, but it's literally just like a cooler e strap to your back. I kind of need, like, the personal compartment for my laptop and stuff. We'll see if we can upgrade. She's on her maiden voyage this trip anyways, but we're flying in the sky test. Okay. We've got goals to hit. Anyways, here's the hack. If you need to cook something, like oatmeal, for example, in the airport, you just ask a coffee shop or wherever for a cup of hot water. So my oats have cooked in there. And then in my cooler backpack, I have a bunch of ice packs and the food that I need. Oh, your cookies. You want your cookies?
Yes, I do.
Don't tell me I forgot it. There's no shot I forgot it. I did. Egg whites and strawberries. I'm shocked they let me go through TSA with this. But anyways, I better close it up before. But there's a bunch of food in there, like frozen ground beef. Two meals for today. And, yeah, you know, we're trying to stay on track while we're traveling.
