Mike Andes and regional manager Chuck discuss why close ratio matters for lawn care profitability. They measure it as estimates accepted divided by total estimates sent, and flag a new location doing more estimates than others but converting fewer into jobs.
If we don't fix it, we will not be successful.
I own seven lawn care businesses across the US and this is Chuck. He's my regional manager. Once a week, Chuck gets on a coaching call with all my general managers and ensures that the key performance indicators of the business are running smoothly, including profitability and in this case, close ratio, which is the number of estimates accepted divided by a total number of estimates sent to customers.
The next thing I want to address is the amount of lead flow. So we have a brand new location that has almost done more estimates than everybody that that to me, again, unacceptable.
They're new GMs, so it's a matter of getting them squared away. This isn't. We're just not there. We're not where we need to be and we need to continue progressing forward.
