Hey, everybody.
Welcome to a special episode today. Today, the media team is going to be out in the field mowing, where I'm going to try my hand at mow ed and blow. We'll see here. I got my instructor Jeremy with me to show me the ropes, see how good I do, and see if I can get those P for P dollars. Stick around to the end to see if I can do it. I'm motivated, though. Oh, no. Oh, no. So that was a dumb question. Rookie mistakes. I do a good job.
So this is just straightforward up here. We'd whack up to there. Go around, around the.
That cat. Okay.
And then you're just doing from here and to the property line. Usually the property lines is, like the.
End of the fence, so it kind of lines.
Yeah, there's a line right there. And you can mow it either way. I usually weed whack first. Okay. And then get around the corners and stuff. And then. Then you just mow. Okay. You can mow either way. You can move that way or just straight up and down. But you like to do two runs around and then do your pattern.
Oh, gotcha, Gotcha. Just makes it easier to turn.
Yeah.
Okay, cool. We'll see if I can get the weed whacker to start up first try. Let me grab some safety glasses, or else we're gonna get torn apart in the comments. Here we go. Safety first. Oh, these are the worst sunglasses I own.
So you just unlatch that.
Okay.
And pull it off and out.
Okay.
And this is that right here. That's the choke.
Okay.
You can always just turn it a little bit or. And then just fire it up.
All right, here we go.
Oh, so close.
Got angstry. All right, let's get started.
So hard to keep this level.
And to keep that speed consistent. Like, so hard.
Stay along this fence. Oh, digging. We'll move this sucker.
Get back in here a little.
How's that look? Did I do a good job going back over this? Make sure it's okay.
And turn my back to the car, so hopefully I don't hit their house with anything.
So you want to go from there and just go along, or you want to come right to left?
Right to left?
Oh, yeah. Or left to right. Or left to right. Okay. Because the weed whacker will blow all the grass into the grass.
Okay, Wait, so facing this way? Yeah. Or facing like this?
Facing this way and going that way.
Okay. You'll have to let me know if I'm going low enough with it, too. I can't tell if I'm making a difference.
I'll show you real quick.
Okay.
Yeah, Just go like this.
Oh, you can ride, like, on the line? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Is that better? Yep.
Okay, cool.
It.
That's it. You don't have to do anything here. Just go up there, around the fence and around there, all the way around.
Here, and then stop and to the front. Okay.
That's it?
Yeah, that's it. Oh, that little area right there.
From right here?
Yeah, from right from the sign over.
Oh, over to the corner. Yeah.
You want to just do that? That corner.
That's it.
Good. Cool. How do you turn it off? Oh, there you go.
Yeah.
Cool. All right, so run this back to the truck.
Well, you just leave it right here.
Okay. Sick. All right, mower.
And then the mower. You just put that level lever down fast, and then cool. And pull the cord there.
You have to hold this in at the same time. I don't know.
I don't think so.
I don't.
And this.
This engages the. The clutch. Okay. When you push down, you got to hold it.
Hold it down. Hold it down. Yeah, hold it down.
Oh, gosh.
I got.
You got this.
Dude, this thing is fast. There's so much power behind it.
I think I missed. Come.
On.
You can just go like this. You don't have to put that close that handle.
Just start it. Oh. And then you go in and out with that.
Okay. Okay. That's so much easier.
This back corner is so challenging. Like, it's such a tight space. It's so hard to maneuver it. I like. Sorry. I did a bunch of, like, dug out those spots. Hopefully the customer's not mad about that. Okay. Hopefully I don't have to do a second pass. We can breathe in.
All right, there we go. That's one side. Let's do another.
So Jeremy's had to two perimeters. And then I can do the.
There we go. Nice. Oh, no. Gotta fix that.
All right. Walls put back together.
Stay off the speed a little. God dang, that is so fast. Come on.
I don't know how they do just, like, little bits of speed every time I pull it. 30.
Property line. There we go.
All right, that's round one. Second time around. Here we go.
It's kind of hard to see, like, my line, like, where I originally was. Another turn.
I held the. The gas on that one a little hard. Then I have to do two runs over here. Dang it. Back area clear.
Just get straightening. Keep it nice and easy.
I definitely missed the spot. Hold on.
Even on this straightaway, like, it's still harder than I expected. The mower just has so much power already. It's looking pretty good. I wouldn't say my stripes are very even, but.
Definitely looking pretty good. Here we go. Aiming right for the camera. Let's see if we can get it in the blaze.
Man, I missed the spot. Oh, man.
Getting away. We're gonna sweat. All right, last try. Oh.
Brutal. Blast out all the grass. Real. Keep it safe. Your next one is, like, right here, too. Do you want me to put it in or just leave it down here?
Yeah, next one's down straight.
Okay, cool.
A rookie mistake. I blew out so many clippings over here and over there. Yeah.
And then the trimmer's right there.
Oh, cool. Okay.
I brought the trimmer for you.
You'll have to look over my work and see how good it is. The mower kept getting away.
Yeah.
Go to press the throttle, and it'd be like. And jerk me forward. Have you been mowing grass for a long time?
Oh, not. Not for a company. I just mow them for, you know, three styles.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. What made you want to join Augusta?
Something different.
Something different. Yeah.
So it is the same thing with the weed whacker.
Okay.
And it's pretty simple. It only goes one way. The wheel will be on the. This side of the.
The wheel will be on this side.
Yeah.
And I just lay it in?
Yep.
Do I have it spinning before I lay it down in. Yeah. Okay.
What's that? Is it okay? Yeah. Oh, so I gotta start down there, huh?
Oh, it's so hard to keep it online.
I can't believe I'm in.
Yeah.
I'm gonna lean it towards you.
Right towards me.
No, like this. So you want to lean it like that so you don't hit the car.
Okay.
Here you go. That side.
Go there. And that's.
Much better. That one was much better. Then turn it off with the button. So, Jeremy, what was the hardest thing for you to pick up? What was the hardest thing for you to pick up when you first started?
It was.
It was getting used to the use of the. Of these kind of machines.
Yeah. Like, just the heavier duty.
Yeah.
That one machine.
Yeah. Yeah.
Lift that. Yeah, it's in. And then you lock it with that.
Yep.
Is it locked?
Yep.
Okay.
And then the blower.
No blower. Okay.
Turn that key. Just turn it this way.
Yeah. Oh, okay.
Yeah. This stuff has way more power than, like, the residential stuff. It's wild.
Yeah.
Now, do I start it Before I. Yeah, yeah. That was a dumb question.
Yeah, yeah. Usually put on the ground, there's a. There's a thing you put your foot on right here.
Yeah. Okay.
And then you just pull it. Hold onto it. Yeah, There you go.
Sick. Put on like an expert. Okay.
Let'S go.
Dude, this thing, like, pushes me away. No wonder they do little hovercrafts with these.
I need to do there again. Oh, I need it.
Cut the side.
Good. Yep. Out of here. There we go.
Three minutes to spare.
Three minutes to spare. No way. Look at that.
I'll start you up again. We'll just blow that off the. Oh. Off the street.
Cool.
Oh, yeah. Where I started it over here. I feel like if I would have done it without the blades, it wouldn't have even done that.
All right.
There you go.
Awesome. Well, thank you so much for showing me the roast. So what was the budgeted time on that job?
30 minutes.
30 minutes. And how fast did I get it done?
47 minutes.
That's P4P right there. That's money. That's awesome. Sweet. What did you see over there that I. That I could do better on?
Next time, be a little faster, but really, really.
I was nervous with the. With the trimmer. I was like, I don't know if I'm doing it right.
I don't know. One thing about trimming, too, is you want to keep your eye on core. Many things in the grass, gas, you know, like. Like, wires around the. Especially around the. The gas meter. Usually there's a copper wire there.
Oh, God. And that will just, like, rip.
Yeah, it would tear. Tear apart. And then you'll get wrapped around your weed whacker.
Gotcha. Gotcha. I know I was nervous when I got up to that hose. Yeah. I was like, I don't know.
Usually we still. We usually bypass the hose. Just go. You know, we usually just scrimp top of the hose, and then.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Okay. Okay. Okay, cool. Well, next time, I'll do a little faster, do a little bit better on the trimmer.
Oh, you did. Good job.
Thanks for going out, Jeremy. Thanks for showing me how to do this. So maybe I'll get out there again, make some P4P. I don't know.
We'll see.
