Mike Andes breaks down time to send the quote, the days between a customer asking for an estimate and getting it. Most businesses take two or three weeks. Cut it to same-day or over-the-phone, and your close rates jump.

This hidden number can sink your business. Let me explain. This number is called time to send the quote. That is the number of days that it takes for you on average to send the quote to a customer after they have asked for the quote. So for some people, they get a phone call and in three or four days later they go show up to the customer's house, look it over, take measurements, etc. Three or four days later. After that, then they prepare the estimate, send the quote out to the customer via email or text message and. And then four, five, six, seven days later, the customer accepts. After you call them or follow up with them, we now have two, three weeks that have gone by since the time they asked for the quote. The question is, how can you reduce that time? How can you ensure that you have prompt delivery of the estimate that you get to the customer's house immediately, the same day, or better yet, doing it over the phone? Reducing the time in the estimate process will always lead to a higher close ratio and a better outcome for you and the customer and the business.
