Overgrown Property Cleanup COMPLETE Walkthrough [$5000 Landscape Project]

Josh and his crew transform an overgrown duplex that hadn't been trimmed in seven years. They haul four trailers of debris, install landscape fabric and cobbles, and finish the $5000 project four hours over budget after heavy rain slows the work.

Hey, what's up, everybody? Josh here again with Augusto Long Hair Services. So you've probably seen by now the video that I posted. I think it's yesterday about.
The guys doing the property cleanup on the duplexes. We showed you kind of the before walk through with Nick. Saw how bad it looked. Hadn't been cleaned up ever, I don't think. And so Nick just shot me a text that they're about an hour from finishing up, so I'm going to start heading that way and do a little walkthrough with him and see how everything looks.
After the job is done and after it's all cleaned up. See if he ran to any trouble or if the inclement weather we've been having affected him at all. And see what he did to get through that job and see how it looks. It should look great if I know anything about Nick's work, so looking forward to that. Come with me. If you've enjoyed this video or the one before it, just feel free to like and subscribe so we can continue helping grow the channel and help other people and their businesses, because that's what we love to do. So thanks for coming along for the ride, and we'll see you at the job site.
All right.
So recent studies show that if you're going to show up on a job site where it's been raining the last three days and guys have been working super hard, and you're going to be carrying a camera and have a clean uniform on, it might not be a bad idea to bring, like, some coffee or something for them, just so you know.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm gonna pull up here and get the boys some energy drinks, Red Bull slushies, and then we will take it over and see how they went on the job. I know I just had coffee, and that's not even remotely close to coffee, but it's a coffee stand, so I'm gonna count it. All right, we'll see you soon. Just around the corner.
All right.
Here.
Oh, boy. Brother. Thank you.
Thank you. You're welcome.
Oh, boy. I'm gonna be bouncing off the walls.
Yeah, I haven't had Red Bull in so long, man.
It's good.
Yeah, I think gives you a hit. It's a zinger.
Cool. How did it go?
Pretty good.
Looks good, dude.
A couple of hiccups.
Yeah, this place was, like.
Messed up. Are you filming right now?
Yeah. You want to give me a walk through, Tell me about the ups and downs? Yeah, you can take your drink. All right. Cool.
We can just start where we started the other day if you want. All right. Yeah.
We had to. We had to blow up this entire parking lot. It's like old asphalt, and it's all a loose rock. So Isaac's been blowing it all the way, and we've just been picking up the piles.
Yeah.
Very slow, very arduous.
Yeah.
This is the. The light at the end of the tunnel. Sun just came out.
Yeah, I know. I miss seeing that. It's been raining sideways for three days. And then I went to get in my car, and I was looking for a jacket. I looked outside, and it's sunny.
I was like, no way. Yeah, just.
It happens every time.
It's awesome.
Yeah.
So.
The front here. Transformation Tuesday.
It's Friday.
All right, let's do the reveal.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, yeah, when we started, there was a wire fence just completely, like, socked in by over seven years of growth. I was talking to one of the residents who's been living here for seven years, and he says it hasn't been done since he's been here. So. Yeah, just completely filled.
Did the girls move those rocks in there?
Yeah, they did.
Okay, well, some of the residents went ahead and landscaped for us, but. Well, yeah, we'll end up pulling those out, but essentially.
Yeah, just cleared everything. Just took it down to the ground. These guys were probably 10ft up that pole, going completely out this way. Out this way. So really just had to butcher them, get them way knocked back.
On the side of the building here.
Just tons of tons of random plant growth, random bushes. So just pulled everything out. Kind of took this guy off the fence a little bit, just so it's the only thing there, you know, simple. Simple as what you're going for here. Kind of lower maintenance.
Got a really light trimming on these. Looks great.
Yeah, we did a little refresh. Refresh on the walkway. We still got to blow this off, but five, eight minus, you know, it'll. It'll pack down really nice over time.
Get a little moss out on the roof. All the curbs all around, just shoveling up all the debris that's been there.
Cleaning up the edges, making everything look nice.
This is probably the best.
I think the. The biggest transformation, cuz. Oh, man. Yeah, just bushes, like, probably up to here. And it all grew from, like, one central one right here. So all of this is coming out again. We're going to leave this tree and pull out all of the shrubbery around it, and essentially this whole bed will turn into an angle, and we'll fill it in with road fabric, stop the girls from coming back, and then put cobbles down in there. And it had been left untrimm so long it creeped across. And all the runners were putting roots down. So essentially, like it was all one big root system. And then there was that kinnick. And act was going along the curb here. Yeah, Got that all pulled out. We got road fabric down. So nothing's ever going to grow through this. Super low maintenance too. You know, leaves fall in there in the fall. Wait till everything comes down, you give it one blow and break it up. It's good to go for the next year. So, yeah, we did a quick refresh in there. Trim the plant off of the side of the house. I think eventually that plan will get taken out. But we trim that away just to give the painters some room.
Let's see. Bit more refresh in the gravel there.
Ripped out over there. There's a big kush covering these two parts of the corner of the house here. This one wasn't that compared to the one over there. But we did some bullet edging here.
Oh, yeah.
Created a nice wall. Put some material down the sheet and then put some cobblestone over the top of that. Did a refresh on some of the gravel here. Go over here real quick. Yeah, I gotta. I gotta blow off the cobblestone here real quick. It's covered in grass still. But we refreshed along alongside of the house here and then back here. There was a lot of work that had to be done.
Oh, wow.
They had, I think, two standing bushes here and then a bunch of this juniper ground cover. I wasn't really sure what it was, but, man, really big, deep root. Root groupings and real pain in the neck to pull out.
Gonna let that grow over with grass, hopefully. Might need a little bit of dirt, but other than that, that looks pretty good.
You got that hedge topped up?
Yeah, the hedge here. Aaron topped up for us when he.
Was here on that first day.
Okay.
And this tree, this maple tree over here.
Not a lot left of it, the twigs.
But yeah.
So this was. This was like another, you know, eight feet taller than it was on all dimensions. So we just did a hard, hard cut back and, you know, hopefully it grow shoots through here next year. Hopefully it fills out and we'll have to keep it trimmed in here and it'll. It'll start to fill us out. It's probably not going to die.
There's.
There's a lot of like. It's pretty robust. These things are really Resilient.
And then.
Yeah, this one you can kind of see on the fence here. I this interesting kind of the algae growth all along here and that just shows you how big it was before. So yeah, it was essentially from here all the way going up top. Still gotta pull that guy out. But yeah, just this huge dense growth. We tried trimming it back, there was just so much dead growth in it. We ended up just taking it down to the ground and away for next year for it to regrow and we'll just trim and shape it over time.
But.
Got that arbor lighting trim still clean up here in the back.
That looks good with that gravel over.
The back bed here.
Yeah, the back. Since we're right here, we just redid the gravel. Still gotta clean that off. And then same thing. Backside. Yeah, we pulled out a bunch of trees and a bunch of bushes from this area and just took everything down to the ground and yeah, hopefully just in the future every time we come in and mow, we'll just knock it down and keep whatever grows there down.
In this part. Just a bunch of clover and weed growth. We. We were just going to knock it down and spray it but the ground was so uneven anyway. So we ended up just parking the trailer right here and just shoveling it all out flat and then putting the gravel right over it. So we're going to blow that out. Got the bullet edging and then just more low maintenance. Put road fabric down, every inch covering all this and then all the cobbles over top. So never going to be any kind of weed growth.
Obviously zero escaping. There's no bushes to trim. So yeah, just super low maintenance. It's really great for duplexes, stuff like that.
For sure.
Yeah.
And then just break that guy down. There's already a lot of gravel in there, so we didn't have anymore.
Nice. Man, looks sick.
Let's kill her.
Yeah, a huge difference. Yeah. How'd you do on budgeted hours with like the weather and stuff that put you behind it all?
I think so. There's always like a psychological aspect when it's pouring down rain. You know, it's. It's hard to move fast. Kind of crazy to think that it was raining today. Yeah, the second day was really rough.
It came down pretty hard on us that second day and it was not a good time.
Yeah, we. This is our fourth trailer of debris. We pulled out three before completely stuffed down. The 14 foot trailer is full of all stuff in the front. You know, just from all around the front property.
Do you think you would have hit budgeted hours if it been sunny.
I believe so.
I think we could have. I think we could have snuck it.
Well, we're not that far over. At noon we hit the 40 hour mark.
We're two hours over.
Two hours over. We had a couple guys show up one of the days and help for a few hours. So yeah, I think we're going to be like four hours over.
Right.
Right now I think we're four hours over.
Okay. Yeah. Cool. Man.
I think if it was sunny, you probably could have smacked it all out. You get really slowed down by a heavy weight. All the gear and the rain kind of pulling you down a bit.
Especially with moving stuff like this. Like with brush and stuff and gravel gets like 10 times heavier.
Especially we've removed a lot of dirt and like root clusters and stuff. You know, just completely covered in dirt. And when it's raining like that, it gets awfully heavy. Really takes a lot of effort to kind of get it. It up to the edge of the trailer and then. Yeah, probably added a little bit of extra work for us as well.
Cool, man. Well, thanks for letting me pester you guys. Good work.
Thanks for the. The energizer.
Yeah, no problem.
See, I needed it. I needed the water. I slurped that thing.
Oh, man.
Alrighty. We'll see you guys. Another job sometime. All right, peace it.
