Mike Andes realized he didn't want to become like Grant Cardone and Gary Vaynerchuk after hearing them brag about working harder than everyone else. That moment taught him to choose humility over the kind of public boasting about work ethic that made him uncomfortable.
This was the exact moment when I realized that Grant Cardone and Gary Vaynerchuk were not the role models I wanted to follow the rest of my career.
Think about what I was doing when I didn't have it. Who works harder, me or you? Me. How do you know that you just can't be working 18 hours a day, every day the way I am? I just don't think you are. I just believe it in my heart. You don't really know anything about me. You're right.
Okay, now they both have gotten much better. And I should also add the fact that I think actually if you had played this clip back to them, they would actually now both be somewhat embarrassed by the way they handled this because they both have matured. But it was from this moment where I was like, I'm not going to follow these guys because I don't want to be that guy bragging about how hard I work and telling other people that I work harder than them.
