No, this is horrible. This is bad, bad news. Shame on you. No, I'm just joking.
Hey everyone, it's Mike Andes here and today I'm going to be actually making some phone calls and calling some law and care and landscaping businesses out of the blue, just cold calling them and making sure they answer their phone. Because the number one thing that's going to different you between most of our competition in this industry is just whether or not you answer the phone and get back to customers promptly. So we're going to be calling some of the clients that we have from Lawn Care web Design. So if you go to lawn carewebdesign.com you can see some of these websites. We're going to go right on their website, give them a call and let's hope they pick up the phone because if not, you're basically wasting money by having a great website, by having great social media, by having great advertising if you don't pick up the phone. So let's go ahead and give them a call and I hope this is a reminder to you to make sure you answer your phone calls as soon as possible because a lot of times the estimate, the bid, the job goes to the person who answers the phone first. Alright, so the first one. So we're on long careweb design.com here. Let's go ahead and go to our work scroll the very bottom. Let's get this one here. This is Cameron's. Cameron Cosney. Okay, looking beautiful. Very good. Okay, let's go ahead and give him a call. Call us now at 3 1.
Hi, we have reached Cameron Cosney with Cosney's Lawn Service. Sorry we are unable to take your call at this time. Please leave your name, phone number and a brief message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Cameron, it's Mike Andes. I hope you're doing super well or calling some of the lawn care web design clients and seeing if they answer the phone. Say you failed the test.
But no, I hope you're doing well brother. I'm just looking through your website today and checking out a few things. So I really appreciate your business doing this with Lawn Care web Design. Hope it's serving you well and I hope that you're so busy right now you can't even pick up the phone. So that's probably a good thing I guess. Hopefully you're making money. Hope you have a good one, brother. Take care. Bye bye. Alright, so we're 0 for 1. To get things started off, we're over 1 in the first innings. Let's go to the next client. Here we go. All right, the next one up is Pro Landscape Services. Here's their website. Green and red is obviously their kind of theme, their brand. Okay, very cool. All right.
Three rings of death.
Thank you for calling Pro Landscape Services. Your call is important to us, and we're not. Again, thank you for calling Pro Landscape Services and make it a great day.
David, David, David, David. You didn't answer your phone. This is Mike Andes. Hope you're doing super well, brother. Was looking through your website. I wanted to give you a call. Thank you for your business, but I was also just checking to see if the phone. When it rings, we pick it up and we failed the test. But I appreciate your business. You know, I hope you're out there making money because we're not answering the phone. So the phone is ringing. I called from the website, but I appreciate you, brother. Have a great rest of your day and we'll stay in touch.
Man, that's 0 for 2. What are people doing? Like, put your phone up on the website, get it all looking pretty, and then don't answer the phone. This guy should answer. My goodness, we're over two. All right, the next one up is closing Lawn Care. Okay, we got pretty cool. Orange is kind of the brand. It looks like. Well, it's cool. You can get scheduled right from here. Oh, actually, just submitting an estimate request form. Great. I like the logo here. That's pretty cool.
See, the third time, the charm.
This is clousing Lawn Care. Our hours are 8 to 4 Monday through Friday and 9 to 2 on Saturday.
Bryce, it's Mike Andes here. I hope you're doing super well. I'm just calling to see if you answered your phone, but you didn't. So. So you failed the test. It's my birthday today, and I'm calling you to say. Why didn't you call me for my birthday? No, I'm just joking.
We were just calling some of the clients saying thank you for your business, but also just checking to see how many answer the phone. So far, we've only contacted 0o for three. So I hope you're out there killing it, crushing it today. And I hope you're so busy right now you can't answer the phone. And I wish you all the best, brother. Stay in touch and have a great rest of your week.
Oh, man. Okay, well, we're 0 for 3, so we basically struck out already. Now, this guy, I think, is on top of it. All right, so this is Harford Lawn and Landscape. Zachary's done a couple consulting calls with me before he started this spring, and I know he's crushing it this year. So this is his website. Let's go ahead and give him a call.
Three rings, like, what's up with this?
Thank you for calling Harford Lawn and Landscape Services. Our office hours are Monday through Friday.
7Am to 7:30pm It's 11 Pacific time.
Right now, we are either on the line with another client or out of the office. Please leave your name, phone number and a brief description of your project. We generally return calls within two hours during the workday or the next day. If you call after hours. Thank you and have a great day.
I gotta do a math equation just to figure out when I'm gonna get a cold. Math, Zachary, hope you're doing super well. This is Mike Andes. We're calling a whole bunch of landscapers and seeing if they pick up the phone. So, unfortunately, you did fail that test, but you did pass the test of getting a great website. I love it. We're on your website now. Just looking through it. I appreciate your business with lawn care web Design. I hope you're out there crushing it making money, because obviously you're not answering the phone. So I sure hope you're making money. But anyways, brother, hope you're doing well as you go into the fall season. Take care and have a great day. Mercy. Is that Oprah floor now? Mercy. Goodness. All right, let's go the next one. You know what we should do? We should call like 10 landscapers in the same area and see if any of them pick up, because this is what your client is doing. They're calling landscapers, they're calling people that have great looking websites and they're just literally seeing who picks up the phone first, because whoever does is the person probably getting the job. All right, we're over four. Let's see if we get an zero for five. Mercy. Goodness. Here we go. All right, Yardworks Lawn and Landscaping. This is a relatively new website that we just got up on Lawn care web design. Very cool video they did. I like this. And they had the tweels on the right standards. Let's go slow motion. This is a good camera, too. I love that house. Let's go. Oh, it's a hustler, not a Right. Sorry. My apologies as a great video. Okay, cool. So great looking website looks like. Let's go ahead and give them a call and. Oh, that is a cool, ideal mosquito Control. Sweet. Okay, Yard Works contact. Let's give them a call.
Yard Works, this is Elizabeth.
Hi, Elizabeth. Is Josh there by chance?
No, he's not.
Okay, can I. For sure. My name is Mike Andes and I was just giving a call. We were doing some testing on the website, Lawn Care Web Design. We built the site for you guys and I just wanted to reach out to him, say thank you, and also congratulate you because we're calling all of our clients and seeing if they actually pick up the phone. And you did, on the very first ring.
Wonderful.
You guys are doing a great job. I was looking through the site. It's looking really good. And I just want to say thank you for your business, too.
Oh, yeah, no problem, Mike. I will definitely give him the message that you called. What's a good number he can call you back at.
Oh, he doesn't even have to give me a call back. I know he's busy. I just wanted to let him know. And we're kind of running you through the test, so you passed. You got in the first ring. You're pouncing on that thing.
That's always a good day.
Awesome work. Well, you have a great day. Thanks so much.
Thanks, Mike.
Take care. Bye. Bye. Oh, they passed. Finally, our fifth one. Someone picks up the phone on the first ring. Let's go. Oh, this is great. This is Zachary calling me back. Let's go.
Sorry, we already chose a different service. I apologize.
It's not fair.
I was on the phone with my.
Wife.
Talking about my infant's appointment.
I guess that's important. You should probably take her call over my call just for the sake of quality of life.
Yeah, yeah.
How you doing, brother?
No worries, brother. Well, I'll let you go. I know you're busy, but I wanted to check in. We're doing a video where we're calling everyone, seeing if they answer their phone. So there so far? So far, the average is about 20% of people pick up, so it's not looking good.
Do I get to be on the video calling back? Because I do call every number back.
You get like half. Half a point. You. You got a call back within like five minutes. So you're good. All right, this is going to be Blaine from Evergreen. Let's go ahead and give him a call.
The mailbox belonging to Blaine Wanger is full. No new messages at this time. Please try again later.
No, this is horrible. This is bad, bad news. Don't let your voicemail box go full. Oh, that's painful. Okay. All right, well, I'm gonna have to send a request form or something and just let them know that they're. Their mailbox is full. Because I have done that before. And let's just see here. I'm gonna put in my name, put my phone number in here. Service is needed. Your voicemail box. Mailbox is full. Shame on you. No, I'm just joking. Your voicemail box is full. All right, so we called six people. One person answered the phone on the very first ring. So, Elizabeth, congratulations. You win a prize. We got a call back within about five or 10 minutes from Zachary, So shout out to him. But again, this is just to reiterate the fact that answering the phone is the number one way to get business for your business. So whether you need a calling service or whether you need to make sure that you have an office person, like, I get it. If you are 1, 2, 3 employees and you're working out in the field all day and you're sweating, you don't want to be picking up the phone. Great. Get a. Hire a calling service. They usually charge you a few hundred dollars a month. They might charge you a couple bucks a minute or per phone call. They might not even do a great job of answering questions about lawn care and landscaping. But at least there's a live person that gets the contact information, sets an appointment. Do something on the phone so you can get the business. I genuinely believe most of us would double our business if we just answered the phone. So I know today was a little bit like, humorous fun calling people that I actually do business with with Lawn careweb design dot com. But it does not take away from the moral of the story, and that is answer your phones. And if you're not. If you're trying to grow your business and you're spending money on marketing and you're not answering your phones, I think that's crazy. If you're spending $1 on marketing, trying to get new customers and not answering your phones, you might as well just go flush the money down the toilet. So if you're trying to grow your business, the number one thing you can do is answer your phones, answer them in the first ring, and get those clients on schedule. I'm Mike Andes. Hope that was helpful. We'll see you tomorrow.
I don't know if any. Oh, sick.
Good. Sorry.
Boom. Hey, everyone. I'd like to invite you to Landscape Summit. It's a conference I have in January. It's gonna be the 13th, 14th and 15th of January, 2022. It's here locally and I'm really looking forward to meeting other landscapers like yourself that want to grow their business.
