Mike Andes says track your efficiency score: budgeted hours divided by clocked hours. An 8-hour job that takes 10 hours is 0.8 or 80% efficient. This metric shows you which employees are productive, whether your estimates are accurate, and which services drain profit.

Questions this video answers

Efficiency score = budgeted hours ÷ clocked hours.

If budgeted hours = 8 and clocked hours = 10, efficiency score = 8 ÷ 10 = 0.8 (80%).
