Businesses lose money by making payment difficult. A 2-3% credit card fee beats the hassle of paper checks, which require pen, ink, envelopes, and stamps. Simplify how customers pay you.
If I want to make more money, I could probably make it easier for people to give me money. And if I want to make it harder for me to make money, probably a good idea to make it harder for people to give me money. So let's make it where you have to pull out this archaic book, pull out this pen with ink inside of it, write on it, pull it out, put it inside of an envelope, put a stamp on the envelope, write a bunch of words all over it, put it in the mail, hope and pray that the mailman delivers that thing correctly. Hopefully it shows up in your mailbox. Hopefully you pick it up. Hopefully it gets to your desk. Hopefully it gets into your car. Hopefully gets to the bank and hopefully it cashes. Like, there's a lot of hopes. I'd rather just get the money, pay my 2-3% to the credit card processing company, and make that money for certain.
