The COPS Called us???

Mike Andes and Brianna recount a police wellness check after a cushion blew onto their doorstep, then walk through their Sunday routine, cook bone broth, and share small lifestyle swaps like cast-iron cookware and dryer balls.

Rolling.
All right, folks, this is our first.
Cut.
Ribeye from the cow. And I have to say, it's phenomenal. Like, we had the ground beef pretty good. I did the taste.
Ground beef was really good.
It was good. We had the roast last week, which was, I would say, like, a 7 out of 10.
It was really lean.
Yeah. So, yeah, little tough, little gamey. This ribeye.
Quite possibly the best ribeye I've ever had.
I agree. I seriously agree. It is so good. The fat marbling on it is perfect.
Yeah. And we like fat marbling.
And it's not grizzly.
What?
It's not grisly?
No. And you pair that with, like, literally, my wife's chef kiss kale chips.
Also made in the air fryer. I always made them in the oven. Bad decision. So my wife came along and was like, no, no, no. You put them in the air fryer, and she crushed it. So this is quite possibly the best meal we've had all week because we've been on the turnaround trail today. We finished a business breakthrough, and now we're setting new heights with Mr. Betsy here. Ms. Betsy. Miss Betsy was a good cow, but she graduated to our plate from the fields of Whatcom county to our plate here in Bellingham. Thank you, Betsy. Rest in peace.
This is the end result.
He also does this at restaurants too.
I'm a little more discreet in restaurants.
He doesn't make the noises. I was not joking.
No one saw. Is it chef? Is it a compliment to the chef?
Truly?
Apologies for the background noise, but we are at another woods coffee location, different than the last one that you saw in one of our first vlogs. This is actually their roastery, and around that corner is the actual, like, roaster machines.
This is my favorite part of our Sunday routine. In between church services, we will come to the coffee shop, and I will edit, and Michael will do work after lunch. So, yeah. That is our mid Sunday update.
He's locked in. Welcome to this segment of story time with Mike and Bri. Flashback to Friday, two days ago.
Wait, is it when the cops called?
Yes, when the cops called. We're in the car driving.
To another turnaround, I think. No, we were driving home.
Let's say it in 10 seconds. Okay. We were driving on the turnaround show, and the cops called on a wellness check. Okay, continue.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
That was so hard for me for some reason. Okay. And I'm like, hello? And he was like, is this Brianna? And I'm like, yes, it is. And he was like, Are you with Michael? And I was like, yes, I am. And basically they were doing a wellness check because our cushion actually, that one's inside that blew off. Our cushion blew off of our balcony.
And someone picked it up and they thought, no, they brought it to our. Our front door.
They brought it to our front door. Which I'm like, how did they know where we lived? Which is kind of weird to me. Like, you know, we were.
That's actually a good point. I think it's cuz they could just see how many floors up.
Wait. Oh, yeah. So. And whoever found the cushion, put it outside our door, left us a note like, this blew off of your porch. And obviously we were on the turnaround for. We were out of town for six days total. So I don't know at what day they put the. The cushion outside and ob. That we hadn't gotten it and put it inside. So they called the cops to do a wellness check on us.
Now we have another. Another lead, another theory.
So the other theory is that we do have a police car that parks down in our parking lot. A police officer lives in our apartment complex. So don't anyone try to burglar us, because they will come and get you.
We're gonna find you.
We're gonna find. So yeah, basically, cops called simply because a cushion fell off of that chair. But also, by the way, super awesome, super sick.
It's already dirty.
And then also barbecue that come summertime will be used, right?
Not used yet. Correct Story time. We got the cops called on us. Not clickbait. Emotional gone wrong.
Hello, vlog.
It is such a beautiful day here in Washington, and I am going to this place called Whatcom Falls. I don't know if you guys can hear.
The rushing of water in the background, but it is this absolutely beautiful place.
With a lot of trails, but there's like one major fall, and if I end up walking to it, I'll show you guys.
All right, we are here on Washington's longest pier.
Over there, that's Mount Baker. Over there, that is the sun. That is Brianna.
This used to be a railway out to where they would load up barges, I think with coal, something else. But they just turned it into the world. Not the world's Washington's longest pier. That over there is where we used to have the boat, but because of the budget, we cut the boat subscription out.
Yeah, can't afford it. You know what I'm saying?
You guys, I'm feeling very Laura from Little House on the Prairie right now, so I wanted to document this moment. I currently have beef bones in the pressure cooker right now because I'm trying to make some homemade bone broth. Growing up, my mom made that, and it was like medicine pretty much. So anyways, I will probably show you guys that whenever they're done. It was so easy. I just roasted the bones and then stuck them in the pressure cooker for three hours total. And I'm super excited to see what it looks like once it's done. I'm gonna run in the store and get some mason jars and a strainer because I didn't really plan ahead for that. And then in here is dinner. This is a chuck roast. I seared all sides of it in a cast iron pan, first seasoned it, and then put it in the crock pot. And hopefully it turns out good. I don't really have much experience with roasts, so we will see. That's all vlog. We are currently trying to make a video for everyone who trying.
We only win. We do it, baby.
Yeah. We're on, like, the 10th take for everyone who contributed to our registry for our wedding. And it's not going great so far. I don't do well with unstructured. Like, I need a script to follow. So here's a little insight on what it's been looking like. I'll say. I just wanted to say thank you so much for contributing to registry. It's really helped our apartment feel like a home. Okay. Beautiful. Okay. Hey, everyone.
It's Mike and Brianna, and we have been married for.
I have to fix this.
Hold on.
Redo.
What? Hi.
Hello, everyone.
Hello, everybody. This is Michael, and that's Brianna. Hello, it's Michael and Brianna. And we have officially been married for five weeks.
Six weeks.
And so we are successful thus far.
And in part, all the gifts have really made the subpar you and you're lying to me so much for.
It was so good until the end.
We just wanted to say thank you so much for contributing to our registry. It has really.
And if you go off the rails, just stop and I'll pick it up.
Sure. So just want to say thank you and we appreciate you so much.
Thank you.
Okay. I think that was it.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Hello, vlog. I figured that it might be interesting for some of you guys if I shared some healthy swaps that Mike and I have kind of done in our life recently. Kicking it off with instead of using dryer sheets. Pretty much ever since moving here back in September last year, I swapped over to dryer balls. I just, like, put about 10 drops of essential oils on each of them and I throw them in the dryer instead of using dryer sheets. It's kind of a paradox though, because I still like, I use a normal laundry detergent and then these things which make these clothes smell so good. But it was $5 off at Costco last week, so, like, how can I say no? You know, we improve halfway. I will say natural deodorant is like the one thing I refuse to do because I rather smell good. And natural deodorant does not do that for me. I used to use these Febreze wall plugs, which are not very good. So I'm way late to the bandwagon because these have been a thing for so long. But a diffuser I recently made. I don't know, I may have showed you guys earlier in the vlog, but I made bone broth.
With literally just water, roasted beef bones and salt. And it turned out so good. It's so gelatinous, meaning it has so much collagen and it is so good for you as well as raw milk. Pretty sure we've talked about this quite a bit, but I get it from a local co op grocery store here. I definitely prefer to use cast iron and stainless steel over non stick and silicone utensils. I still do have a silicone spatula that I use for Mike's spinach omelets that he's had routinely for years and years. But I have definitely switched over to more stainless steel utensils, clearly. And cast iron. Plus being that we eat meat a lot anyway, cast iron gives it such a good flavor if you keep the pan seasoned, meaning, like, well oiled. Good morning, everybody. Recently we made a purchase. And I'm not telling you all this to influence you to do this because in all honesty, you probably shouldn't get this, but there's this very cool little adapter thing that we plug into the car and we use CarPlay to now be able to watch YouTube and whenever we want to while we drive. Hence why I said we do this. But this doesn't mean you guys should do this.
Distracted driving. Horrible.
As Michael's holding his phone in his hand. To prove my point. Michael is a very skilled.
Yeah.
Person that drives while being on their phone at the same time. But it's so cool when it actually loads.
Well, because we're in the parking lot.
Yeah. The only downside is, like, you obviously have to have it connected to WI.
Fi and that's not the phone.
And we have. We do have our own hotspot.
So one day when we're rich, we're gonna get Starlink on this, on this thing, and then we'll be out here cooking with Chris. Go, folks. Like, check this out. Look at this. Literally, it looks like YouTube. Because it is YouTube. It's a beautiful thing about the Android operating. You can hijack it. That's right.
And now we're going to watch the new video on Mike Andy's channel.
That's right.
It is the luxury lawn care turnaround. So we're going to wash this on our drive to a coffee shop, show.
Up and do the same effort, but.
30K.
