I was just notified that the place that I'm going in a couple days has different electrical outlets than the North America. Like, I understand we can't figure out world peace and currency and economic issues and religion and all that stuff, but can we just figure out what kind of prongs go into the wall and where to charge my iPhone?
Okay, so someone asked me the other day, why in the world would you make a video for your team showing all the averages of how much people make that? I talked about that a couple days ago. We were having some internal drama and didn't want that spreading. So here's why I do that. Because I think in the presence of information and light, darkness and drama leaves. And so if there's issues inside the company, things are going on. A lot of times it's because people don't have all the information that you as the owner do. And that's why we have open book management. And some people are like, well, if you don't like drama, why would you make YouTube videos about people's employment and people their interviews? Why would you make drama around that? I don't think it's drama. I have very clear standards and information to share with the employee as to what is going to make them be fired or is going to make them be hired. And there are certain standards and it's very, very clear. And I would rather have clear standards than arbitrary drama happening, not having information being passed up and down the chain of command. And so that's why I make the video about how much people are making and very clear and honest about, hey, here's the averages. Here's what the average in our wage, wages in our market is here. Comparable type of jobs like this one is paying in our local market. Just all the information right there for you.
It's early. Gotta get my spinach omelette in. I love it. Literally could have these five times a day if I could crisp the cheese. Once you flip it over, it's a beautiful thing. Okay, this morning, couple things have already happened. One of our franchisees contacted me because their employee is threatening to come on their property and sue them with a lawyer. Let me be very clear. Most employees and most customers that threaten using a lawyer have no idea what a lawyer or attorney is. They don't know how many contacts and it's an empty threat. Furthermore, most of them think a retainer is something that goes in your mouth, not what you pay an attorney just to get on to them as a client. So a little bit more drama this morning. Another One of our franchisees contacted me because their mother and father are old and they have about 75 to $100,000 because they sold everything. They're like, well where do I invest it? Because I don't really, they don't really want to buy a house and you know, should they put in the stock market? They need a little bit of cash flow every month and you know, typically what I really like to do when it comes to parents, grandparents is try to get them in a house with, where they can have an Airbnb and rent it out for a couple thousand, $3,000 extra cash flow every month, pays for their living, gets a little bit of cash flow running in. But if your time horizon is like three or four years, it's not really worth it to go buy a house and put the money down and then renovate it and furnish it and all the rest of it. So if you're just trying to get them through the last few years of life, potentially might be the best thing is to put that money in the business, grow it and then just take siphon off the profits and give that to them as a form of cash flow for their older years in life where they have to go to assisted living or a nursing home or something like that can get very expensive. So, so, you know, just putting $75,000 or $100,000 in the S&P 500 and expecting a dip enough dividends every month to like live in your later years is not realistic. So your time frame and your goals are extremely important as to where you invest your money. Especially if you're looking for income producing assets like dividend stocks, real estate or potentially a business. It's a beautiful thing, cooking it up. Got a salad over here, an amazing breakfast. Why? Because I'm going on a trip and I can't have lettuce and spinach rotting inside of my fridge. You want to know something funny? Last week at our off site meeting for command center, we had what we do, peer reviews, anonymous peer reviews. By the way, these are really good. Anyways, anonymous peer reviews. One of the things that someone said is I need to chew with my mouth closed. So.
Gotta work on that.
Look at this thing, man, it's a thing of beauty. Perfect cheese. That's some Himalayan salt. Oh, it's amazing.
Now in a couple days.
I'm leaving to fly somewhere. Where? I can't tell you yet. And I hate packing. Here's my theory on packing. If I'm going to any place besides a third world country, anything that I forget I will be able to have within a mile of me. So if I forget my toothbrush, who cares? Guess what? There's a convenience store. If I forget, deodorant. Guess what? There's a Rite Aid. There's a Walgreens somewhere. I hate packing and I hate unpacking. And it's weird because sometimes, like, those details I hate. It hurts my head. I don't even like to think about it. Then I'm gonna have, like, a meeting with Liz and Lonnie right now about command center and apartments and all that later today, and I will go very much in the weeds and the details and all the rest of it, and I'll be nitpicky, and they'll probably think I'm annoying. So certain things, I'm really good at details. Other things like packing for a trip, I hate it.
Excellent.
No mouth. See.
The meeting with Liz and Lonnie this morning was really important. As we grown command center, we've always really hired generalists, people that can really figure things out quickly and learn so many different aspects of the business, from invoicing to scheduling, answering the phones, answering web chat, like, tons of stuff. But now what we have to do, as we are going to be growing past 50 people, is we're going to have enough people to be able to create departments. Now, the reason you can't do that with 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 people even, is because if you have 20 departments and there's 30 people, you. There's literally just. You're putting all the responsibility for a single thing on one person. Now, when you have 50 plus, like we're going to be having next spring rush, that's when you really have to start siloing the business, creating departments, invoicing department, phone call department, estimates and email department. So that's really what we're trying to figure out. I know it's still like five, six, seven months away, but it takes a while to create all the implementation of training the software department leads and then actually creating the organization to make it run smoothly. And next spring rush has to run smoothly. I record everything in life just in case that is a given. This is what comes with it. That is growth. Okay. And you're saying it's only for growth. It's not for any solo. Correct. I like it. So it's a benefit of being a growth model. Yeah. And then they can just choose whatever services and everything else is additional. All right. Yeah. So I guess I have not started the transition of that. I haven't. I emailed you at Lonnie. Do you see that? No, I haven't even gone into it yet. All my, all my invites were in Delani this morning. Oh great. Okay, cool. So I need to get it together. You need to do get it together. Like I told you, I made it 24 hours ago. You should have it. We'll need to know what it is if she's not around. Not really, because. Well, she's not around. Yeah, but like in terms of a backup person, we can set up delegation like we do with. But I can always look at help through delegation. I don't have to log in. True. So we can set that up. Well, as long as we keep it to this, I think we're fine. Because this is manageable for them to remember. But when you have anything above like any more than this, I don't want. Cuz it takes our high most highly skilled people at Command center to do the task. They have to know really everything. And it's also costing the franchisees the most because if you ask the owner like, hey, when have a job on schedule, they know right away. We have to go look at their dispatch board, look at the calendar, see where they're at. Did they add anything in? We're just not as efficient at it. I'm actually headed over to Anytime Fitness though right now because they've been doing a whole bunch of interviews. But I was just next door. I figured I'd pop over here for this one. I think we got someone already set up and ready to roll, but. Never hurts to get more apples.
The gym is completely empty. 4:20 in the afternoon. It's kind of this weird in between zone. Okay, let's take a guess here. Hop on this thing. I have clothes and everything on, so. Okay, I'm not 150. 100. I'm gonna guess I'm like 144 right now. Nope, nope.
148 with clothes on. Yeah, I bet I'm 144. I'm like literally within two to three pounds all the time. I don't change much at all. The supplement section is starting to really take form. Very good. We've already started to sell out of some stuff, so I think people are really enjoying these QR codes. They scan these, they can grab it and go. We originally had doors on this, but we just made it where now they can actually reach in. Just buy whatever they want. This entire wall used to be this like paisley brownish tan. Just tan, the entire thing purple. The team did here. Looks great. And this One all orange, so a little bit brighter. We're trying to organize this back area though because we brought back in here the supplements and we need more space for that. They also kind of use this as the eating break room. And then back here is like cleaning and tools and all the rest of it. So just gotta organize all this stuff, get it all shaped for the supplements inventory. But yeah.
So I just got back from church Wednesday night. Little bit late. I gotta determine if I'm going to record. Here's the determining factor of whether or not I can record. At night I look at myself in the mirror like so. And if I'm squinting a lot and I look really tired, probably not a good time to record. And this blinding light. I didn't even know iPhones did this. You actually have a video with the light on, so I'll probably do some recording. What's funny is I haven't even got my accommodation set up yet for my trip. I'm literally going to a different country, so. So I should probably work on that. But yeah, it's gonna be really fun. Looking forward to showing you guys where I go installing septic and electric at the new shop. I don't know, is that gonna get more views than another loan video title? It's a loan video. That's what the end will be. Best neighbors ever. And show the goats. Yeah. And then what if we just use like this screen grab of doing that. Like that one right there. That one right there. And then something like shop tour or. And then like the title could be something like septic system installed at the new shop. I don't know. We found this. We found what? Oh, oh, dude.
We found this at our new shop space. That would be great. Dude. You found it. The natural truth to it is you found it online and purchased it to get it. Found it at the store. Yeah. Just to. We found this. And then.
In the thumbnail. We dug a hole. We dug ourselves in our hole. Yeah. We dug ourselves another hole. It's a double edged sword. That's pretty. That's a good title actually. We dug ourselves another hole. We dug ourselves in the hole. And then we hit this. We hit this. We found this. I don't know if we found this. Complete clickbait though. There's nothing in there. That. What was the first one we said, you know, we found this. We did find it. We found it at the store, bro. Store. They're going to think, is that grabby? Yeah, because of what you're doing. What else are you going to think? Well, if you change the thumbnail. Yeah, we're not changing the thumbnail. That is the thumbnail. We buried this. Yeah. We buried. Yes. That's not clickbait.
That is definitely the title. We buried this. We buried. This is good. New shop. I don't know. We buried this. It's like, well, what did they bury? And then it's at the new shop. Breaking ground. We buried a septic tank. Duh. What's the alternative? We build a tower for our septic. We put our septic system up in a water tower. Chandelier. Opportunity beyond this. We like this.
We buried this in the new shop. Thumbnails. Breaking ground. Yep. Okay. Yep. Let's go. There we go. Brain scarping.
