We have a local shoe store going out of business. So you know what that means.
Those are sick. And then Michael is getting Brooks and Hokas to replace his.
This is the one kind of shopping Mike actually voluntarily did. He saw this sign. 75% off. Everything must go.
Two weeks. Yeah. We just came from the shoe store and we're in this, like, oil salt store. We're in heaven. We love salt.
There's so many options. Like, okay, espresso sea salt. What? And whatever that is. Smoked sea salt. Hickory smoked. We're probably gonna get black salt because we tried it at a restaurant before and it's. So here's.
He says flaky salt too.
Flaky salt.
Yeah.
Specific.
Malden. Wait, we want Malden flaky salt. This flaky. We want this one.
Which one?
I've heard it's really good. Malden flaky salt sounds good. Rosemary sea salt.
That sounds cherry. Cherry spice blend.
It's a day of shopping.
Oh, my gosh. This was made for losers, right? Check this out. It looks like rocks.
It comes from Hawaii. It looks like the black rock in Hawaii.
A moment of silence for this lava. For all the people that died because of the volcano that caused this lava.
They also have, like, cheeses and different meats. Like a wagyu salami. Like that looks like bras. Yeah. Then we got Maldon flaky salt as well. It's so good.
Now we're going to go home and make New York strip steak and put that on it.
Very sad day for Michael.
These were my very first good shoes that I bought for running. Now they're holy and kind of falling apart. See, look at the hole. Not good. But they serve me well. These ones, I think, have lasted me six years. These ones have lasted me seven years. I bought these ones first. Bought these ones for 50% off at New Sierra. I bought these full price on Amazon.
They served me well.
They served you well. And now it's time to retire.
I feel so bad. I feel like they're still more juice to squeeze.
No, I don't think so. There's holes all, like, along the side.
Of this, separating the heel.
Yeah. Time to say goodbye.
But you have to admit, because I washed them. These have probably been washed 15 times. These ones may be washed through three or four times, but they're in doors.
How would the olden with the new.
Grave?
Okay, in with the new. Which are these and these. They look sick. 50 off. Yeah. If you got three pairs for 50.
That'S how people leave it at you, when you die at your funeral, like, they die, like, oh, something cool over here. Something else new and shiny. That's why you just do whatever, whatever you gotta do because, you know, people don't really care about me that much.
Wise words. Time to break them in. And now it's such a good day. We got these.
Check out the dates.
And we're gonna put them on the. These beautiful New York strips.
Push this button.
Okay.
Hello, Vlog. It is Sunday afternoon. There's Brianna. Going to make more steak. But we had a little bit of a. I have a survey. Okay, so when it comes to putting things in the dishwasher.
Brandon. Of the opinion that we're supposed to wash things before they go in the dishwasher.
Well, we wash things like pots and pans and we rinse the things we eat from, like the forks, plates and bowls.
So comment below if you think you need to wash things before you put them in the dish.
No, wait, why are you spreading misinformation?
They said that it does not matter.
If you rinse off this video from YouTube for misinformation. Listen, I don't wash our bowls and plates and put them in dishwasher to get washed again. I rinse them so the thick foods and things are not just floating around the dishwasher whenever I turn it on.
So what does soap and, and, and, and, and a scrubber mean? I thought that that's a little bit of a heavy rinse.
I wash our pots and pans and I let them dry in the dishwasher before I put them away.
Oh, really?
Yes.
No, you wash everything, don't you?
No, just the like.
Ah.
See, I, I didn't have a washing machine for like eight or nine and ten years, whatever. When I. So now this new fandangled machine, it's like, why would I rinse it even? I just throw it in there with all the gunk. All right. It's Monday morning. Wow, the lighting on here is great. It's like almost dark, so gonna run stairs. It's raining outside, though. You know, sometimes you wake up, you're like, I gotta get it running. And so we're gonna start this week off running stairs in the rain.
Good morning, you guys. I got in a fight. See that? It was crazy. You should see the other girl. I got micro needling done two days ago. And that, that was like one of the first times that I can remember she ever went below my brow bone.
And it hurt. But that's okay. No pain, no gain. I've one that lighting Is awesome. I have one more microneedling session left out of the package and wow. We'll see what we're gonna do from there. As far as what the results look like. Hold on. Armpit shot. Is that better? That's a little better. I'm in a little bit of a rush right now. I'm getting ready. I'm gonna spend some time with my sister in law and then I have a couple meetings. One at Anytime Fitness.
And gonna shoot some social media for the accounts. This is like an every Wednesday happening. Then have a meeting at command center with Zach, head of the media team, to go over the June turnaround trip. And I'm so hyped that we're actually able to plan this one sooner because it's so much easier getting affordable flights. Obviously the sooner you book because sometimes we're booking like the week before. Supposed to be flying out and that's no bueno. So super hyped about that. It's going to be a good day. This needs to heat up. I like to curl the roots of my hair because as you can see, it's already curly, but the top is frizzy. So you guys, after the last video, wanted to hear more about the cut. I am 3% body fat down from this time last month, which is super exciting. I started Carnivore last year in November, honestly, for the reason to cut down. Because I've heard, I heard so many testimonials of people like having fat basically melt off of them on it, but also because I was having a lot of gut issues which, yeah, different story, a different time, I guess. But basically Carnivore is like, I'm still. I love it. Still pretty much on it with the exception of my yogurt bowls because I have fruit in that. And I wasn't really seeing the results that I wanted. Like, I was maintaining, but I wasn't cutting until February. And then I started to see progress. But that was also around the time, like after we got married, we started traveling a lot more. So I would have some carbs. So once you incorporate carbs into a high fat, high calorie diet, like the Carnivore diet.
Yeah. You're no longer in a constant state of ketosis, so you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot. And I started noticing. Is that a knot? I started noticing some changes in my body that I was like not super thrilled about. Definitely started to gain weight instead of lose. So I was like, okay. Last month I did an evil scan which those of you who are members of Anytime Fitness and they're probably elsewhere too. And Evil is just the brand name, but it's an in body scan that basically it's a scale. And I don't even know how to all the science behind it, so I probably shouldn't even be trying to explain it to y', all, but it's like measures the force of resistance of water in your body or something like that. And anyways, anyways, all I know is it tells you your body fat percentage.
Obviously your body weight, because it's also a scale tells you how what your lean body mass is, like how much muscle you have on your body and like all this super cool information, you're supposed to use it like basically almost first thing in the morning at least like before you eat, before you have any caffeine or anything like that. Took a scan last month, April 25, and I was like, okay, something needs to change because it was like the worst results I'd ever seen. I basically have scanned every month since moving here, like in September. And I was maintaining, maintaining, maintaining. And then.
March and April had. I had bad results on the sheet. So like, okay, we're changing this. So I started tracking. I got macro factor, which by the way, if you guys have not checked it out yet, I definitely recommend you do have to pay for it, unfortunately. I know my fitness pal is free. I think you do have to pay to get rid of the ads, which is pretty stupid. And I think now they make you pay to like scan the product to get the nutrition facts easier, which is really dumb. But for macro factor, it's subscription based. I think I'm on the six month plan right now, which was like.
50, $40, something like that. It's really not that bad. Started tracking calories and I started off with a certain amount because I thought my maintenance was higher than it was. And I wasn't seeing a lot of progress in the first like week and a half. One thing. Do you see that steam? One thing about me is I'm a little bit too impatient, I'm not gonna lie. So I was like, okay, am I not giving this enough time or are my calories just not low enough? I ended up lowering my calories by 200 and I started seeing a lot more results. And yeah, this was two weeks ago or whatever. I mentioned this part in the last vlog. And yesterday I went to Mike's Gym Anytime Fitness and I did the evolt scan again. And I was very happy with those results because my from. So I scanned my bad scan was on April 25th and then I scanned yesterday, which was May 20th, right? I think so. And I, yeah, I was down 3% body fat since last month. So I'm really happy to see results because like I said, I am impatient and if I don't like, I want to see results yesterday. Since I was younger, I always was not super thrilled with the way I looked. Hence why I started working out, doing strength training.
But you know, pressure is a privilege. There's this mentality that like go easy on yourself, like take it easy, don't you know, whatever, I get it, I get it to a certain extent. Pressure is good. Pressure is a privilege. It's there to like, it's your motivation. So don't be too easy on yourself because then you could just end up being complacent and never get anywhere. So I started strength training and going to the gym in 2022, I believe something like that. And at the beginning of that year and I was, I like didn't know what I was doing. In all honesty, nutrition wise, I started way under eating. There were signs for women, there are signs whenever you weight under eat. So it took me like a few months to bounce back from that.
I think I realized maybe like five months, six, four, five months into like way under eating that I was like, okay, this is not sustainable, something needs to change. So then I started doing more research, became a personal trainer, took that course to really educate myself and to help educate other people because I didn't want anyone else to kind of fall into that same path that I did. I've tried literally everything like the plant based diet. I don't know if that's good lighting. I tried the plant based diet back in 2020 actually and I got very, very thin but like skinny fat because like I wasn't strength training at all. So it's funny how like I went from one opposite end which was like plant based to now Carnivore. And I feel so good on Carnivore. I actually this is probably tmi but you know.
It'S okay, we keep it real on here. Whenever I first started Carnivore last year, it like I said it was because I was experiencing gut issues and it was because of spinach. Like y', all, it was so bad. Spinach messed me up so horribly. So I was like, maybe everything that these people are saying about leafy greens has some like a kernel of truth to it. But it was weird cuz like it had never bothered me before. So it was just like all out of the blue. Last week I brought back lettuce because I was, like, hungry and I wanted to fill my plate up with something. It was like a filler food, like, just to make me feel a bit more satiated without having that many calories. And that messed me up. Like, even lettuce. And I was like, but this is mostly water. Like, I, you know, I don't know. It was weird. Anyways, I just know what works best for me, and that's Carnivore. I know it's very controversial. I would never tell someone, like, you shouldn't eat vegetables. They're so bad for you. Because, like, I genuinely, like, I don't believe that, but I know for me.
Carnivore is what works. And it healed my gut for sure up until last week because I kind of messed that up a little bit. I definitely want to show you guys my evolt results in a later video. Once I reach my goal, I'm down 3% body fat. But as far as scale weight goes, I'm down like only 3, 3 or 4 pounds. But it's because I gained muscle. And it shows on the, on the sheet. Like from last month to this month, there's like an increase in muscle, a decrease in fat, and that's what I'm going for because, like, I have a certain scale weight that I want to hit, but I'm more prioritizing body fat percentage. Like, I want to get to, like 20%. The lowest percentage that a woman can sustain healthily is 18. As far as, like, looking very shredded goes. So I'm, I'm good with 20. Right now we're at 24 point.
Something. 24.3, 24.6. I'll have to look back at the scan, so 4% more to go, and I'm very excited. If you guys have any questions about it, feel free to ask. I wasn't sure really what any questions would be for me to answer, but that's just more insight on it. Mike says, what gets measured gets managed. And it's really resonated with me. And I was like, that is very true. So I was always of the mindset like, oh, I'm scared to step on the scale. Like, I'm scared to see it. But once you kind of repair.
Your relationship with food and basically yourself, it's not so bad because, like, you know, you're just working for what's best for you. And as long as you, your health is your priority, then this is just a bonus that comes with it. So anyways, that's my spiel. Yeah, I'm gonna go actually leave right now probably, and then have a couple meetings after and then church tonight, so. So, yeah, jumping to the future a little bit, I wanted to show you guys some more foods that I kind of use as, like, a cutting hack. Because there's, like, the obvious, right? Which is chicken breast, salmon sirloin, like, the leaner cuts of meat, Greek yogurt, whatever. But there's some things that you wouldn't really think about. To sub out some of your favorite foods. I have a couple packages.
Oh, why are they open? Instead of beef sticks, I got turkey sticks because they are lower in calorie and the shipping label is covering up the nutrition facts. Oh, it's 80 calories per one stick. And each stick is, like, about three fourths the size of a chomps, so clean. Ingredients, 80 calories, 10 grams of protein. We're gonna be leaving for the turnaround in two days, so I'm gonna take these with me. Chomps, a staple, 100 calories, 10 grams of protein per stick. These Archer mini meat sticks, 45 calories for 4 grams of protein, I believe. Also from Costco, because that's where I do the majority of my shopping is the Tillamook. No added sugar, Beef jerky. And it's actually really good.
I love honey. I love maple syrup, but it is caloric. Like, a tablespoon of honey is 60 calories. So I got a honey substitute. And you would have never really thought about it before. I mean, I didn't, but it's sweetened with monk fruit and allulose, so cleaner ingredients. And it tastes so good. We already went through, like, one of these in probably less than a week because Mike also loves it. So I got it from Amazon. The brand is wholesome. Yum. Zero sugar honey. We also have maple syrup by Lakanto. 10 calories for 2 tablespoons. And this is sweetened with monk fruit. So, yeah, if you don't want to completely cut out honey and maple syrup, this is the best. I especially love putting this on top of our Greek yogurt bowls because it just adds that extra sweetness. And honestly, like, I'll be honest, the texture, this is pretty runny compared to maple syrup. Usually, like, you can kind of see it's pretty liquidy and it tastes good. But this tastes closer to honey than this tastes to maple syrup. So if I had to recommend just one of them, it would be the honey. If you guys have any other questions, just comment them and then I'll try to answer them as the vlogs keep going. Because I was trying to think of, like, what would a common question about a cup be? And I feel like I covered some of the history behind it yesterday. So if you guys have any more questions, feel free.
I just have to say it.
Whoa.
I did.
Yinks. Please show the results of my cut, baby. My year over year.
Cut this box open.
Wow, that looks sick. Oh, I see. It's framed. Sweet.
Let's go.
Baby. We got artwork for the house. Oh, they're glass, though.
What is that?
It's gonna reflect the light in the studio.
But they do look cool.
Look.
