What Homeworks Is Building Next: Dispatch, Recurring Work, and Treatments

HomeWorks founder Mike Andes previews the dispatch board, a recurring-events engine, and a treatments module for lawn care. The company shipped an AI interface connecting to Claude and ChatGPT, and is rebuilding its codebase in React/Next.js. A pilot at a Texas lawn care location will test fertilization and weed control features before the treatments suite launches in Spring 2027.

Hi, I'm Mike Andes. I'm the founder of HomeWorks, and I wanted to give you a little bit of insight as to what we're working on next. Over the past few months, we've been delivering and shipping product at a very high velocity. We have released the MCP and API access, and we're one of the very first CRMs in all of home services to do so. MCP is connecting to your AI agent, things like Claude, Manus, ChatGPT. And just be able to talk with plain English to create automations, get data for your business, and understand really what's happening inside of your company. API access is the ability to build dashboards, build full applications using all the information inside of your account, and being able to customize reports and making your own apps, websites, and pulling all that data on a live basis from your account. And one of the first in all of home services to do that with both MCP and API. That's been great. And every single week we've been making improvements and adding more data that can be accessed using the MCPN API. Also in the past few months, we've completely done a refactor of the events, and that started with the All Events page, then the calendar, and now right around the corner is the new dispatch board. I believe when this is done, we will have the best dispatch board in the home service industry, bar none. And I truly believe that larger companies, as they are starting to come in more and more every single day, a lot of people are wondering, what's— what are you guys working on next? And we made it very clear that our big focus this year was going to be moving from the old PHP codebase into React and Next.js, which is the code language for this much more modern infrastructure that you've seen throughout the entire system, starting with the client portal, estimates, and then now moving all the way through all the events. Calendar, the dispatch board, the pages that you're using the most. And there's still pages that we're gonna be working on throughout the next several months that could absolutely be improved, made faster, snappier by moving from the old codebase into the new codebase. So what I'm about to share now is not necessarily an exhaustive list. There'll be lots of little tweaks and adjustments and feature adjustments over the next few months. But I wanted to give you a broader picture of what we're working on next, mostly for the companies that are considering joining HomeWorks. And if you're inside HomeWorks wondering what's coming next, and the number one thing I want to say is, I believe the thing that makes HomeWorks different than just about every other home service CRM is the fact that I as a founder am still involved in the home service industry every single day, not just from a software perspective or listening to members, which I do on a daily basis. But also I have my own business. This is actually where I'm sitting right now, the future home of Right over there is going to be the Augusta Lawn Care of Bellingham, the very first location for Augusta Lawn— Augusta Nation. And then right over here is going to be offices for the team at HomeWorks, the engineers, designers, sales, support, to be able to be close to actually seeing what all of us as home service business owners are encountering every single day out in the field. And to be able to see the technicians and how they're interacting with Fieldforce mobile app, with the dispatchers, with the people that are using it here at Command Center and the admin side. And so I believe that that is what actually makes HomeWorks different than any other software. And this is going to be a huge testament as to what we're working on next. Right now, the dispatch board is our main focus. I truly believe that the dispatch board is the fundamental cornerstone of every great scheduling software, including HomeWorks. It really is the thing that connects your team out in the field, your office, the sales team. Everyone has to go through the dispatch board to know what to do next in their day. And that's really our next focus. And it's going to be where the calendar and all events and all this refactor that we've done has— is really going to show just how powerful this new dispatch board is. After that though, we are going to be moving our focus to recurring events as well as chemical applications and treatments. Now, instead of just building it, we have been talking with members for years and we have had many, many calls and seeing how you're actually using chemical applications and treatments throughout your business. And that's been great. And we have a long list of things that we got to get done to be able to have large treatment companies be able to use HomeWorks. And I've always said, if you had more than 400 or 500 chemical application clients, you probably might want to use something else for now. We want to change that. And instead of just listening to third-party data or listening to our members, I'm going to go do it. And so you might have heard on my main channel, the Mike Andes channel, that I'm gonna be moving to Texas. And one of the things I'm doing in Texas is starting a brand new Augusta Lawn Care location that's going to be using treatments and applications. We're only offering 2 services, one of which is going to be fertilization and weed control. And we're going to be testing firsthand the features that we're going to roll out this offseason to make sure that if you're doing chemical applications, doing treatments, that it'll not only be good features, it'll be features that have been battle-tested out in the field doing the actual work and making sure that it's actually useful. And so that's what's gonna be next. After the dispatch board, which I truly believe is going to be world-class, after that we are working on recurring events and making sure that the recurring nature of weekly and biweekly visits, monthly, quarterly, annual, the ability to be able to have like we have now the indefinite visits, but being able to make sure they're honoring off-seasons, but moving all of that into the new code base That's gonna be really game changer. After that, we're then going to move into treatments and applications. My hope is that by Spring Rush of 2027, that a lot of people have been waiting on the sidelines, or a lot of you that have been doing workarounds using the MCP or API to kind of build some workarounds, treatments, and applications will be able to fully utilize it right inside the application of HomeWorks. So I'm looking forward to this offseason. There's a lot on the horizon and we're just getting started. The velocity of the team over the past 6 months has only elevated as we've been able to use AI tools. We've been able to, as a team, get collectively stronger, the trust between the team. The velocity at which we're shipping is so high, and I don't anticipate that getting any lower. So I am super, super excited about this offseason. I can't wait to use these tools in my own business out in Texas and be able to make sure that what we're shipping is useful for all of you out in the field.
