Mike Andes argues that pay-for-performance compensation reduces micromanagement while rewarding high performers with autonomy. Employees who slack off earn less; top performers maximize customer satisfaction and efficiency. It's a win for workers, customers, and the bottom line.

I believe that most employees don't want to be micromanaged especially the top performers looking over their shoulder rolling up to them on jobs, always texting them like hey what are you doing? Why are you at so and so's house? Why are you at the gas station? I saw you on your phone what are you doing? I don't do that anymore because like look if they want to be on TikTok for half the day that's fine. They're going to make less money on P4P that's their decision. And the best part of it all is that now the system of P4P is managing the employees. They just want to be able to do their job to the highest extent and the highest level and if they're getting paid based upon that performance, the happiness of the customer and the speed at which they do the job and the efficiency and profitability that is brought into the business I believe it's a win win win.
