Mike Andes hired three technicians in under a week using a fully remote process. He posted jobs on Indeed at $20-$30 per hour, fed applications to Claude to format candidate info, then had candidates answer pre-screen questions on video. His hiring manager reviewed 10-15 video responses instead of 100 written applications, cutting time and no-shows.

Here's how we hired 3 technicians in less than 1 week without ever doing an in-person interview. First off, we just use Indeed, and we run applications right from the regular situation. So $20 to $30 an hour, depending on pay for performance, we show that we are going to have them taking the vehicle home, and everything that they can do to grow inside the business. But then we use Claude to take their applications and put them inside of this system called Spark Hire. Now if you don't have Spark Hire, you can use a Google Form or Loom or any video platform, But the objective is that before we get them set up for an in-person interview, we are simply asking them questions and they're responding via video. And then instead of us going through 100 applications, we might go through 10 or 15 videos that were submitted, and then only the best applicants get an in-person interview. This saves a huge amount of time for the general manager and allows them to be able to focus on doing the work out in the field instead of blocking off an entire day, half the people not showing up for their interview, and the other half, they walk in the door and you know immediately you don't wanna hire them.
