Mike Andes argues that a bad website wastes ad money. Most home service sites convert 0.5-1% of visitors, but after redesign the same traffic hits 1.5-2%. Fix your site first, then buy ads.

Before I spend a single dollar on ads, I'm always looking at my website. Now I'm very biased because we have Home Service Web Design, so take that with a grain of salt. But the ultimate thing is, anytime you pay traffic, what you're doing is you're paying for attention. And if when you get the attention, it's pulling them towards a bad website, the conversion, you're just going to drop way down. And so we see consistently people that have conversion on their website, like 1 out of 100, 1 out of 200. Once they change their design, same amount of traffic, but now it's 1 out of 50, 1 out of 60. As a conversion rate, and they just tripled their business because the site was no more traffic. So I would do that first, Eric, before you spend any money.
