In this conversational video, the speaker recounts attending a racial‑justice march where participants displayed "Black Lives Matter" signs. During the walk, a passerby responded with "All Lives Matter" in an argumentative tone toward a BLM sign‑holder. The speaker uses this encounter to explain that supporting Black Lives Matter is not contradictory to believing that all lives matter; rather, BLM highlights systemic inequities that prevent Black lives from being treated equally in areas such as the justice, education, and housing systems. By recognizing these disparities, those who say "All Lives Matter" can and should support BLM. The video concludes with an invitation for viewers to comment, noting that this is part of a daily video series and encouraging ongoing dialogue.

So hello. Today while I was at a march, I saw people responding to certain messages as people were walking. And it was a march, I think the official title was for racial justice, was what the march was about. Now keep in mind, as I'm discussing today, you can leave comments below and I'm able to see those comments and even able to discuss them and bring them forward in this discussion. so that we can engage in a conversation if you want. And I'm doing this a little bit different way. I appreciate that thumbs up there, thank you. I'm doing this a little bit differently than in the past, using a different program than I have in the past, so hopefully everything runs smoothly here as I am talking. Here's what, what I'm finding interesting, and I'm seeing it on Facebook and I'm seeing it live. So when I was at the march, I saw it occur as we were walking around town, and some people were carrying signs that said Black Lives Matter. And at one point someone said, all lives matter. And I thought— and they were saying it almost argumentatively towards a person who's holding the sign Black Lives Matter, which I find is interesting because if you believe all lives matter, then you believe Black lives matter. It's not one or the other. That's the problem here, is that people seem to think the signs say only Black lives matter. I didn't see a single sign that says that. I did— I haven't seen that on Facebook. I have not seen signs that say Black Lives Matter More. Haven't seen that on Facebook. Haven't seen that in any of the walks or the protests. It says Black Lives Matter. And the reason it says that, if you're saying, but I believe all lives matter, what Black Lives Matter is saying is that we want people who are Black to know their lives matter in a country, in a society that has a history of not treating their lives like they matter. So if you believe all lives matter, then you want to be able to recognize, well, whose lives are not being treated like they matter? Because we want to help those individuals if you believe all lives matter. And so it's a— it should be a yes and a yes. If you believe all lives matter, then you would want to support Black Lives Matter because you believe all lives matter. That's what this is a discussion about, is about trying to make sure that we have a justice system, we have an educational system, we have a housing system, we have a society That does treat everybody equally, that we are all being given the same opportunities, that we are not treated less than based on skin color. That's why this discussion is happening. So when you hear people say All Lives Matter, say yes, which is why you should support Black Lives Matter, because Black lives matter. And that's today's discussion. I want to thank you for joining me. We told you we'd do a video a day. And so I appreciate you swinging in and, and watching this video. Keep in mind, you can leave comments even if you're not watching this live, and I'll be able to see those throughout the day too. So please feel free to continue to leave comments, and thank you for joining me here today.
