If you have not heard yet about a civil lawsuit involving Cornell University, a fraternity, and 7 fraternity members, and this lawsuit refers to 7 people sexually assaulting 1 student at a party. And at one point, this lawsuit states that a chat message went out to a group that said, free blank upstairs. And let me be clear, it didn't say blank. It said the reference to women's genitalia starts with the letter P. Why am I not saying the word? Because then this video wouldn't air anywhere. It would get censored. Right, but let's just describe what just was said. They treated a human being like a free beer upstairs. This is disgusting. This is why education is still vital today around sexual assault prevention, because what many lack or fail to do when it comes to these conversations is engage the humanity of what we're talking about here. A human being. And they lack to address this. The lack of bystander intervention in this case is is disgustingly appalling. It needs to be called out. We need to do better. Campuses need to do way better in being proactive around this topic. And let's unite to show this and make a difference.
