A speaker affirms that trauma survivors experience different reactions—silence, rage, shame, guilt—and none are wrong. Every survivor is strong and courageous, regardless of identity, gender, orientation, or neurodiversity. The message: stop treating people differently based on how they look.
Chapters
Every survivor is going to have different reactions. Some survivors will be quiet, some survivors will speak out. Some survivors will be filled with rage, some survivors will be filled with shame and guilt, even though it wasn't their fault, our society unfairly does that. Some survivors are feeling all these things all at once. There's no right or wrong. If you agree with me that every survivor has strength and courage within them, please yell every. Every! And I asked you to yell every so every survivor in this room today could hear you tell them how strong you are, How courageous you are, how amazing you are. Every means every identity, gender, sexual orientation, body shape, size, neurodiverse. Every means every. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people are often treated differently purely based on their containers.
