If someone's been drinking and you're unsure how drunk they are, wait until they're sober. Asking them if they can consent doesn't work because alcohol lowers inhibitions and clouds judgment. Genuine desire is clearest when both people are sober.
If I ask somebody who's drunk, are they capable? Are we probably going to get a bad answer? See the danger of that? I ask a drunk person, you're capable, and they're horny, they're going to say they're capable. If you agree that makes sense, say yes, it does. So here's what we do instead. The second I know they've been drinking, if I don't know them well enough to know their level, I can't get consent. So I'm going to wait till they're sober. Because if they really want me, by the way, somebody who truly wants you, will they want you sober?
