Mike Domitrz says if an employee refuses to engage with company initiatives and violates core values, leaders should remove them. You can't fix people, only offer growth. If they decline, keeping them betrays what you claim to stand for.
Chapters
James, you asked, hey Mike, what about the employee that doesn't want to engage because they don't like the idea? They don't even give themselves a chance to engage. All right, so James, this is gonna highly depend on the core values of the organization. If this employee is blatantly violating core values of the organization and you've gone to them and you've said these are core values that you are not responding to, you don't appear to do them in the way you treat others, in the way you talk in the workplace, Are you aware of this? Right? And if they're not willing to shift or change themselves, because you can't fix people, we know that, right? It's not our job to fix people. But if you offer the opportunity for them to grow and they want no interest in growing, most leaders in this country will tell you they have to get rid of that person because you cannot have a core value to your organization that people aren't living by because then it's just a lie.
