Mike Domitrz argues that sexual assault happens because someone chooses to commit it, not because of anything a victim did or didn't do. No behavior or precaution can prevent assault. Accountability belongs entirely with the offender.
I could be somebody who's more passive, not have any education on this, and I won't be sexually assaulted unless somebody sexually assaults me. So the only way sexual assault happens is if somebody commits sexual violence on another person, no matter what the other person did. And that's really important for people to understand, 'cause a lot of times around this topic, people go, well, I'm gonna teach my kids not to do A, B, and C, 'cause if they don't do A, B, and C, this won't happen to them. There's no way you can guarantee that. They could do A, B, and C and still be sexually assaulted, and they didn't allow it. It's just— Unfortunately, this other person committed a crime.
