Mike Domitrz says saying no isn't rejection. It's honoring your own limits. When you live on your terms instead of chasing approval, some people will be disappointed. That's the cost of self-respect.
You're going to disappoint people in life. By the way, if you don't disappoint people in life, that means you are living by what everybody else wants you to do instead of living your life. It's going to lead you down a lot of negative roads because you're always going to do whatever keeps everybody else happy. Peer pressure will run you, right? Versus I'm living my life. Huge, huge difference around this, right? So you want to be able to say no because saying no is not even about rejecting the other person. It's about honoring my temple. That's actually what it's about. I'm not saying no to reject the other person. I'm saying no because I'm not ready for this yet. The situation isn't right.
