Showing to use Streamyard

Mike Domitrz shows how Streamyard pulls comments from YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn into a live overlay. He demonstrates the setup, reveals that Facebook profiles must be public to work, and troubleshoots common issues like video delay and audio feedback.

All right, so my— oh, by the way, now I can post comments. So that is interesting. I wasn't able to earlier. So I'm going to put my YouTube in the— that is really odd. I can now post comments, so it must be comments to YouTube, I'm thinking. But we're going to find out. I'm going to put my channel in the comments. So youtube.com/centerforrespect, that's where this is now playing live. So this is playing live. That is the deal. YouTube allows you to post your comments on YouTube while it's feeding. So that comment ironically went to YouTube, which doesn't help a whole lot. So youtube.com/centerforrespect. If you see me there, we would love for you to leave a comment. Mitch is doing it right now. I can see he's typing. So Mitch is going to test this to see if we can see your comments on YouTube where this is playing live right now. If that shows up, uh, then we will know that YouTube comments also appear here. And what you'd want to do is test LinkedIn, that's another one, but we do know Facebook. Here's the key though, this is really important if you're a Facebook user using this. Your profile or whatever page you're on must allow public viewing of your profile, of your post. So if your post says friends only, well then it might struggle with allowing comments to come back and forth because it thinks you're not giving public access, and this needs public access. So you want to make sure that you have public access there. So did you just post, Mitch?
I'm trying to get to your video to see us live right now. For some reason.
All right.
Oh, you're trying to go. So Center for Respect. Yeah, it's YouTube.com.
But I can't see our video live.
Interesting.
All right, let me—
here we go, here we go, here we go, here we go. I think I got it.
I got it. Got it.
Okay, so there must be a slight delay.
Talk about healthy date.
And all right, so Mitch is testing that. While Mitch does that, youtube.com/centerforrespect. Oh, stupid me, I put .com after it.
That's not the way you get to YouTube. All right, so here we go.
Mitch, are you on it?
I am on it. I'm trying to figure out how to do the comment though on my phone. I'd like—
Oh, you're doing it on your phone, right?
So what I'm trying to do is—
I'm trying to figure out—
hi—
comment though on my phone.
Yeah, we can hear that you're there. Live now. Here it is. I'm going to mute it so we don't all get the double sound. I am watching myself, the 4 of us now. Let me just kill the volume.
All right, I killed the volume there, and I'm gonna make a comment on my own post. You know, that, that's a good point.
It—
there's the comments. All right, so I just left a comment. I'm going to leave that page there. Now we're not getting the double feed, and they're there. We are getting YouTube comments. All right, so great to know, everybody.
Watch this. Silas—
there's Silas's comment on our screen from YouTube. Now this is interesting. YouTube has a very different look for how the comments look, but these are YouTube, right? There's Kim, there is Sunshine, right? Now we're in minimal branding. So now let's see what happens if we go to default branding of YouTube. Look at that, looks just as nice. So the default branding, whether you're on YouTube Or you're on Facebook, there's Mitch right there. And once again, there's Silas, right? So it's actually a really beautiful look. So yes, you can see the comments from YouTube. Yes, you can see the comments from Facebook. So I think it is safe to say if they're able to connect, it can show comments. So if it's LinkedIn, you're going to see the comments because it would really defeat the purpose of this platform if you could not see the comments. All right, any last thoughts or questions? Because this has rocked. Thank you, Mitch. Thank you, Kim. Thank you, Daniel. Thank you, everybody on the Zoom, our Zoom crew. We've got a new tagline now.
Zoom crew. Oh, by the way, let's do it for real.
The way, the way we do this for real is I'm gonna go to brand, I'm gonna say goodbye everybody, everybody's gonna turn their cameras off, I'm gonna play the goodbye video And we're gonna be out.
All right, so everybody have a great one. Uh, I can kill their cameras if I want to.
I could just do it like going like that. And left with me to say thank you so much for joining me here today. Uh, this has been awesome showing and learning myself as we go through this experience. Have an awesome day.
