Does every human being deserve a basic level of dignity and respect? Every means every. It doesn't mean some. It doesn't mean everyone except that group. Every means 100% of people, of all demographics, everybody. So when somebody says, oh, well, that's none of my business, or I don't know that person, you don't need to because you just said they're a person. That's all I need to know. And they deserve that dignity and respect. Now, the other excuse I'll hear was, that's none of my— Business. Business. Is it your business what happens to another human being right in front of you who's in a dangerous, vulnerable situation where you could help? Is this your business? Yes or no? The most powerful answer you could ever give me for choosing to do the right thing in a difficult situation is not an excuse like, well, I did it because somebody could get in trouble. I did it because I didn't want to get in trouble. But you actually stood up and said, I did the right thing because it's literally who I am.
