When you see safety, what do most people think of? They think of things like protection, so they think of physical safety. What about emotional safety? What about spiritual safety? What about they don't make me feel stupid, right? That's a sense of safety. How about this? Could most high schoolers who are sexually active stand completely naked in front of their partner and be comfortable? Should they be sexually active if they can't even stand in front of a partner naked and be comfortable? It's an interesting question to ask. If I'm not comfortable with me, why am I putting myself in a situation or choosing a situation? I put that— I don't like putting yourself— choosing a situation that I'm not comfortable with them or me in this situation. Maybe I'm ready, and that's okay.
