A campus talk argues that "consent is sexy" misses the point. When attraction fades, students skip asking. Better framing: consent is a bare minimum you get every time, no exceptions, whether it feels hot or not.

One of the mistakes we see on campuses is we see slogans everywhere that says consent is sexy. The problem with that then is the student thinks, oh, consent's sexy. So they go for consent. It doesn't work out. Do they ever try again? They're not likely to because the slogan failed them. See, they made it about it being sexy. So I tried, it wasn't sexy. I'm not trying this again. Versus it's the bare minimum requirement. So whether I got a yes or a no, I still got to do this every time. It's the bare minimum requirement. How many agree that makes a lot more sense to set that standard than the sexy standard? If that makes sense, say yes it does. Yes it does. Yeah, now we want it to be sexy. Nothing against that at all. We want it to be. We just can't guarantee that that's gonna be the situation. So big difference.
