Why do I want someone sitting next to me to dictate how I behave if they don't appreciate me for how I want to behave? How many agree I'd rather have the friends in this room who love how awkward I am versus how much I'm like them? Who would you rather have as a friend? The person who appreciates your awkwardness or the person who wants you to be just like them? Which one? Awkward or just like? Yell out the answer. Awkward. Awkward. Let me give you a little secret. Almost everybody who makes a difference in the world was awkward in school. They're called the outliers. They didn't do what everybody else did. It's why they live a different life than everybody else lives, because they weren't worried about fitting in. They were worried about, I'm gonna be me and I'm gonna be on this mission. It is not your job to make anybody in this room happy. Not your job. Your job is to live your life.
