A short first-person video by Misty Tripoli where she reflects on body image and self-acceptance at age 53. She recounts a long history of body dissatisfaction (bulimia for 16 years, liposuction at age 21), contrasts past self-criticism with present self-appreciation, and encourages enjoying and embracing one’s body despite aging changes.

Yeah, I'm 53 and I'm goddamn sexy. Yep. Even though, you know, stuff's falling low, things are jiggling and wiggling. I think I look pretty goddamn great, if I must say so myself. And that's something I didn't used to think. I spent the majority of my life probably like you, absolutely hating my body. So much so that I was actually bulimic for 16 years. I had liposuction when I was freaking 21 years old. Duh. And there was a moment, and you probably had it, too, where you look at photos of yourself when you're younger and go, oh, my God, if I only looked that good again. Like, how could I not even see, at that age how amazing I actually looked? And then you get older and you keep. It's like, when are you finally gonna. Just gonna go, you know what? This is it. And make the best of it and enjoy it, show it off. Let shit hang out. Because nobody gives a shit. All that matters is how you feel about yourself. And you may not totally like all the bumps and edges and nooks and crannies and all things that happen as we get older, but you know what? Enjoy being in it. Learn to at least appreciate it so that you can move it and have it, you know? But I'm just saying, things are going south. But, mama, looking good.
