So on Tuesdays I come to Puerto Aventuras to get my groove on. And today. Well, this is your second time doing with us. Yes. So tell us your name and how old you are.
I'm Estelle. I'm 56. I've been living in playa full time since 2017, but I've been traveling around Mexico since late 90s. So yeah, I have lots of crazy stories to tell.
Well, no, do you know what she just told me that I was like, are you. Are you serious? She got a. What is it, a VW bug?
It was a Toyota van Le from 1989.
And. And this was back in the 2001. 2001. What did you do?
I drove from Montreal to Vancouver and then from Vancouver to Tulum and then back to Vancouver for like six months with my dog. Me, myself and I.
By herself with her dog.
No cell phone at a time. I had a Polaroid camera and a map.
Yeah. Amazing. And where are you originally from?
France. In France.
Just want you guys to know that all these amazing people that I meet here and get to hang out with, we've all ended up here somehow. And our stories are magical. But it's not even Mexico, you guys. It's just basically follow your heart, do what you want to do. This has really nothing to do with Mexico. This has to do with living your best life, doing what you want to do, and being brave enough to do it. Because that required some m. Like massive balls. I don't even know if I would.
Do that back then too. It was like.
Not coones. Laia. The girl got some. The girl got some labia.
I'm just saying, I learned Spanish really fast. Yeah, there was no choice.
So we're talking like she and she had a couple kids here, like raised in here. Two kids. They just left the home. She's back to being yet for a long time. Again, another huge question. Do you feel safe here? Are you scared here?
Never. Ever? Never. I've never been scared here ever. I've been scared in France many times. Paris, one of the scariest city I've ever been. Oh, they can't fuck around with me. No one around with anyone here.
Badass. Another badass. Just so you know, you can do anything you want.
Yep.
You just have to start just easier.
Here really, because, you know, it's always warm and nice.
