Keepin' It Real - Q&A Living in Mexico | Episode Ten

Misty Tripoli speaks in a livestream episode of her Keepin' It Real series about relationships, boundaries, and her life in Mexico. She recounts recent relationship experiences (including a volatile, younger partner who became possessive and physically aggressive), her move-buying land in Mexico, her love of being single, and personal growth work (ayahuasca, juice fast). She promotes her upcoming Groove Workshop (four-hour live online), mentions travel plans (Montreal in September), and a planned retreat in Mexico in early April. The episode includes casual livestream elements (dogs, Wi‑Fi issues) and is conversational and autobiographical.

You know what to do. Let yourself kind of groove for a minute. Let your shoulders move. With me. Wiggle a little. Wiggle a little bit. Put your arms, your head. Show me what you got. Now get ready. Strike a pose, and snap. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. Hey, Poncho. Poncho. It's okay, buddy. We might have dog barking today. I'm just saying, today is one of those days. So happy Sunday. Hi, everybody. I'm Mr. Tripoli. This is Keeping It Real, my jungle series. This is episode nine. I told you from the beginning, you may get dogs barking in the background. Life just has to go on. Stick with me. So we're Little Housekeeping. If you want to watch all the other episodes, you can go to my broadcast. Okay. I'm hoping this isn't going to happen. Sometimes this happens, you guys, where my WI fi gets. It just pauses for some reason. So let's see if we can keep some stability in my WI Fi. If not, it pauses. Stick with me. I'll come right back. So, yeah, you can go watch all the other episodes. Last week, we ended up. If you didn't see last week's episode, it was all about learning how not to love yourself, but how to make love to yourself and why that's important, and tapping into your body. Not just your brain and your wisdom, but actually, like, getting in your body, that is. I'll tell you what. One of the secrets to an abundant life is learning how to get into your body, which is one of the things I'm going to share with you at the end of this, because I have a little surprise for you. So stick around. At the end, I will share my little surprise with you. So this week, I, I, you know, I was like, what do I want to talk about? And just relationships keep hitting me. Not literally, but the topic of relationships, I have freed myself of that. Here we go. And my. Just that it's something. So many comments. And I read so many comments about you guys that you're stuck in a relationship or this. Or I have this, and I can't wait till it's over. Or, you know, or I. You might have a blissful relationship. Right? You know, so. And why I'm 50. How old am I now? If I was born in 71, I'd be 54. Am I 53? Because in a couple weeks, I'll be 50. I'm 53. I'll be 54. Okay. This month. So why I'm single at 54 by choice. Like, I'm love. Oh, my God. Do I Love being single. I love living alone. I love being alone. I love my own company. I, I, I, yeah, love my alone quiet time with my dogs. Like don't, don't, don't. My peace. And I got to a clarity because I want to share with you my final relationship of that I've had in my life. The last one where I just finally went, what am I doing? Like what am I seeking in relationship? Who am I? I had just finished this three year pleasure like with my sex slave, this beautiful Mayan man that we just. I knew it was only sex and I had to end it because he was falling in love with me and getting really possessive and really jealous. And I had been very clear with him I didn't want to be his girlfriend or that this wasn't going to go any further. But it, I just got to the point where I'm like, the nice thing is I just have to let you go because I'll never love you or feel the way about you that you do about me. And that's not fair. So adios. And his possessive weirdness got like, it's wild what jealousy will do to you. Like it'll make you do some crazy that you're like, was that me that did that? So that ended and I'm still in blissland. Like I'm in the echo of all that delicious sex. I'm not seeking it anymore. It's just I want gave myself permission to have that experience of just enjoying and exploring my sexuality for three years with another person and having all my fantasies fulfilled and all of that. So I'm riding that high. I'm in Costa Rica and I had just ended my 10 year anniversary of my retreat. It was epic. There was like almost 100 people. We were out on the beach in Costa Rica grooving every day. It was so blissed out. And then at the end of that I did a seven day juice fast, like liver cleanse. I don't know why I'm telling you this but. Because it doesn't have anything. Yeah, but it's interesting. So I checked myself into this amazing place, Hacienda del Sol, I believe it is. It's awesome. I used to go every year. I need to go back but 7 days juice fast, liver cleanse and then what's interesting, I don't know if you've ever heard about ayahuasca, but I knew about ayahuasca but I wasn't interested in doing it. But then all of a sudden I'm in Costa Rica and it's I feel like I'm supposed to do it. And then all the opportunities and it all just perfectly played itself out. Hang on a second. Are you eating all of the treats? Luca? Luca had his b. His. His little nuzzle in the entire bag of treats. Luca. All right, so back to the story. Had to stop that from happening. All right, so it was. It all lined up, and I was able to do it, and I did it after. So my body was so. And then all I ate was put. So for seven days. Juice. Just juice. And daily colonics. Like, I was cleaning myself up from every end. It was amazing. The. That was coming out of me. Literally. I felt like I was my own science experiment. It was awesome. Like, disgusting and awesome at the same time. So at the end of this, I'm eating papaya, literally, to reintroduce food into my system for two days. And then I do ayahuasca, and that'll be another whole thing. What happened to me when I did ayahuasca. But I'm on this high. I'm tapping into other realms. I'm like. And now this is 2020. Like, the end of 19. 2019. And it's now we're into January, and I'm in California, and there starts to be this whisper. I had just gotten done filming some body groove content. I was like. I was just. Life was so great. I was single. Like, didn't have to worry about that old jealousy issue. And Covid hits, and I'm in California, and I was like, get me home as fast as possible. Like, I'm out of here. And I didn't have this land yet. I was still living in my apartment in Playa del Carmen. Now my apartment. So I'm going to pause when it pauses was. It is just the most sweet, authentic Mexican apartment. Like, I loved it. Right near the beach. 400amonth, two bedrooms, just like. But it was, like, all Mexican tile, and everything was falling. The doors were all handmade by stock sticks. I mean, just. I'll take you on a tour at some point. But I knew, like, things were just falling apart. And I knew if I had to stay here, I wanted it to be nice. So I didn't even ask the landlord. But I re. I pretty much remodeled the whole apartment. But I'd been living there for 10 years. And here, like, in Mexico, they have, like, rules. Like, almost like, they can never throw me out. Like, I'm a part owner of the building kind of a thing. So there's some really interesting protections Mexico has on people that where you live and stuff like that. So right at this time, at the beginning of COVID I'm. I'm riding my bike to the beach every day and dancing and. And I'm still taking myself out salsa dancing. And again, I. I go out salsa dancing. And as I'm. I'm leaving, I'm walking out and walking in at the exact same time is the most. Like, I just stopped in my tracks. And it wasn't about like this big macho man. It was the most unique, bizarre, wild. Like, my whole body just was so turned on, I couldn't believe it. Like, long hair, beautiful black long hair down to his waist. Just like, came in with this. This really cool hat and he had the mustache that was all. And I was just like, what is this creature? Like this red leather hat and just this long black hair just looked so. It was the most unique individual I'd ever seen. And we're walking right towards each other, and I'm stopped and he just keeps walking. And he walks right up to me, basically is like, I've known you for 10 years. And I was like. He goes, I knew I was going to meet you, but I wasn't ready yet. I was like, what you talking about? I'm pausing. He goes, I have been watching you ride your bike past me for the last 10 years. He goes, I see you a couple times a day, but I hide. And he goes. And then he was also one of these pre Hispanic dancers that would dance with the full costumes on and just all the face painting and the fire dancing. He did that shit. And he had seen me dancing on the beach. He knew who I was. And he's like, you are like. He just was, like, wanted to bow down to me. It was the craziest thing. He's just like, I was not. I was not ready yet to speak to you. I was like, ah, I got it. Like that. And he's just like, you're a queen. And. And. And he just goes, you're leaving? Yeah, I'm leaving. And he was like, let me walk you to your bike. So he walked me to my bike. I gave him my phone number. I was like, I need to speak to this thing right here. I was fascinated. And we started dating. Now part of this is me wanting to remodel my. My apartment. I went out with him a couple times. Just very unique, wild. Like the most, to this day, the most interesting, fascinating human being I've ever come in contact. Not. Not just that, but he was fearlessly free and authentic and like, Dangerously, like, wildly free. Like, at a level I thought I was free. And I was, like, I was blown away. Like, I was fascinated by this person. And then come to find out the dude does everything, like carpentry. He made me a beautiful leather bag. He made me jewelry. He made my furniture. And then he's like, you want me to remodel your kitchen? And he remodeled my kitchen. But during this remodeling, he was in my house all day long, every day, my apartment. And I just. I'm sorry, but a man that uses power tools and does with it and actually makes that is so sexy on a level that's not physical. Any woman knows what I'm talking about. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Like, to watch him transform, my kitchen mama was on fire. And, yes, of course, we started a relationship. And of course, I cougared that again. He was, like, 17 years younger than I was. Yeah. And we were having a wonderful time. I was now in this whole other realm of just, like, I would sit and just watch him talk and listen. And a lot of how I learned Spanish, because he would speak Spanish, and I just was fat because he was also a poet. Just like, the way he used his words and the things and the. Just. I. Yeah, I was. I was cooked. I was cooked, but not the way that I was cooked in the love of my life. That was a love from here that was, like, unconditional with him. It was a love of the unknown and the wildness and just this whole world and life that I had dreamed of. I would love to be with a partner that was as wildly as creative as I am and just, you know, what we could create together. And I had this fantasy in my head of what we could do together and all. Oh, my God. You know, and this is also when I bought my land, okay, My land found me, and I purchased it. My relationship with him had just begun when I bought my land, and he was. He didn't help me with it in any way. He didn't have money. He was an artist. He was one of those starving artists and still living with his mom. But then he just started staying at my house, and then he just kind of stayed at my house. And I loved it. I was having fun. We were taking trips. He had gotten me four dogs. Like, I told him, when I move out to the jungle, I want dogs. And so all of a sudden, within two weeks, he had brought me a German shepherd, a pit bull, brought me a rescue little puppy that I saved, and a schnauzer yeah, it. Within two weeks, and I was still living in my apartment. I was like, like, slow down. But they were the first dogs of my life. And I'll tell the whole story about my dogs and these dogs that were my babies that he took from me at the end of this relationship. But that's okay. That's okay. All right. So we're having this just yummy, yummy. And I'm getting my land. He's starting to build the furniture. And, like, so many of my pieces are handmade by him. Like, he carved my. All of my chairs to be an eagle. And, like, the dude was. He was just wildly creative. And then about nine months into that relationship, mind you, I was, like, infatuated with him. Like, I was riveted by him. And one day he comes home, and he just starts screaming at me. Now, even though I've been through relationships or whatever, I never, like, scream, yelled, and fought in relationships. It was like, we'd have arguments, but it wasn't like this. Like, actually raising your voice, yelling at each other, getting intense and physical. That had never been in my life. I'd never experienced that. And. And I. I literally was just stunned. Like, he was literally screaming at me, and. And I'm just like, is this happening right now? Like, what even did I do? And I realized it was. There was, like, nothing. He was just pissed off at something. Like, he was screaming in Spanish. And I couldn't understand everything because it was so fast and so intense. I was just like, I don't even understand what's going on right now. Still don't. But he calmed down and apologized, and I was. Well, not really apologized. Just kind of like, it's over. Like, whatever I did, he's over it, Which I don't even know what I did. And this started to repeat itself, and I ever. I. I just. I mean, talk about a huge red flag. I was like, this is not okay. And I told him it is. This is not okay. You are not allowed to talk to me like that. Like, if you want to talk, let's talk. But the moment you raise your voice, I will leave the room. It's not necessary. We're not doing that. And he would just go off, and I'm just like, what is happening? Like, this man, that was just amazing and just. Was so gentle, but yet so connected to his masculine. Like, he had never shown that side of himself. But he's now at my house and staying with me now. He thinks he lives there. Like, thinks he's living with mama right now, and one day he came home and he had. And he had some powder on his nose. And I was like, what is that? And I wiped it and I licked it. Now, I've never had. I. I didn't know what. I've never tried cocaine, but my tongue went numb and I was like, is that cocaine? And I just. Like, I'd never been with anyone that had done hard drugs. Like, that just wasn't a part of, like, you can drink, I don't care if you smoke a doobie. But hard drugs, like, I. For me, that's not a part of my life. I don't want anything to do with this. Like, fine for whoever wants to do it. But it's like, I love plants and natural things, but like this stuff that can really. I was like. And I told him, I said, that is not okay with me. And if you're going to do that, I will not be in a relationship with you, flat out. But come to find out, he started to tell me. He's like, I'm bipolar and. And now my life is a nightmare. Like, I had just bought my dreamland. I'm starting construction and I've got this psychotic. Like, don't know who he's gonna be from one second to the next. He actually got quite physical with me. I had bruises on my arms and I'm like. And I'm thinking to myself, how the did I get to this situation? Like, I've done too much work. Like, how did. And I knew everything's my response. I attracted this into my life. So I'm like, I took responsibility, but I'm like, what the. Like, I thought it was. I thought it was moving on to the next level of. Of love and whatever, but I guess I had some more lessons to learn, but holy. And it was hard for me not to get mad at myself constantly by like, how the did you let this happen? Like. But now I really. I was afraid. I was afraid for my. My well being. I was afraid. I didn't know how psychotic. Then I started. Like, he would come home with bruises on his face, which mean he had been in a fight, and I'm just like. And then if I didn't do exactly what he wanted to do or talk to him the way I. He wanted me to talk to him. Like, I mean, he never like punched me or anything, but, like, he would grab me. I'd like. And he had long fingernails and he would rip my skin and I just. He would just pull me where he want and I was. I'm this powerful, strong, independent woman. Now I'm like, I feel like my light is just doing this. And I could feel it. I could just feel my light diminishing. And what was interesting, at the same time, I started to run out of money. I didn't know how I was going to finish construction because the money. It's like my businesses went flat, of course, because my light was diminishing and I wasn't putting my heart and my love wasn't in it. It was dealing with. That was so psychotic. And I. I didn't know what to do. I actually went and saw a lawyer. And luckily I had money. Enough money that in Mexico you can make shit happen. So I went to this lawyer and I said, he will not leave my house. I have told him to move out. I don't want anything to do with. I wouldn't let him touch me. Like, he would try to get physical. And I just. My body was like a stiff board. Like, do not touch me. Leave my apartment. Leave my apartment. Get out of my apartment. And so finally I took legal action. And it scared the shit out of him because he didn't want to go to Mexican jail. But at this point, with my photos and I would record him screaming at me and. And all of this, so I had enough evidence that. That I could actually have him arrested. So he got terrified and he finally left. Thank God. But it wasn't until about six months ago was the last time he contacted me. Now that was three years ago. He's tried to use the dogs to manipulate me. He's used his mom's cell phone. Like, this guy is like, I've blocked him on everything, but this dude was obsessed. Like, I'll give you one more chance. This is what he would say to me. I'll give you one more chance. You know, we're supposed to be married. And then I just realized I was in a relationship with someone that should probably be in an institution. Like, but it's over. And that taught me that this is why I'm single. Not because of that relationship, but what I learned in that relationship. And what like, with. I know all of you are at all different places in your relationships was that I will not allow any. Anyone, anything that dims my light. You're gone. Bye Bye. Audios. Not one second longer. Like, I don't. What I. And I've worked, done the inner work to find my inner peace of bliss. And seriously, like, all I've had in relationships, it's fun a lot of. But relationships are hard, period. And that's okay. I don't want to work that hard. I don't. I really don't. I don't want to work that hard. And part of the surprise, I want to tell you is thanks for sticking around so long. We've got to actually end this because we're. We're hitting our time. But anyways, the learning points here for you to take into your life is that setting those clear boundaries, and that's what I did. And that my life is the most valuable thing how I feel. And I will not to diminish my life or take away from my peace and my freedom. But what I did is I learned my core value. And that is part of what we're gonna do in the upcoming Groove Workshop. So it is up online, it's grooving my life, and it is four hours live with me online. We are going to move, we are going to go deep, we are going to connect, we are going to have conversation and I'm going to help you. I hope if you're going to be present with me, really take charge and learn what it feels like inside and what you have to do to prove your life your way, on your terms, whatever that means. And I'm going to help you play with that because I don't know what you need. Only you do. My job is to help get it out of you. I'm on the other side of that relationship. I'm single now and I'm happy and I don't. I don't fear him anymore. That's over. But I had to take responsibility, that I needed to learn some more lessons. And thank God that I didn't get hurt and that I was able to get him out. But if you're interested in joining my Groove in my Life workshop, your life, your way, it's in my link tree at the top or if you're watching the playback it, you can just actually type in GML GML in the comments and it will automatically send you the link to red on my broadcast channel.
