Misty Tripoli lives off-grid in the jungle and gets her water from an underground cenote, a natural cave with a virtually unlimited supply of fresh, mineral-rich water. She uses it for bathing, filling a chemical-free pool, and irrigating plants. The cenote also attracts local wildlife: boa constrictors, falcons, and bats.

So one of the coolest things about where I live deep in the jungle is that I have an underground water cave called a cenote. Bad ass. Am I scared? No. Are there critters? Hell yeah. But fear is a prison. And I refuse to live in fear when I can live in the bliss of nature. Built a kitchen down here. In fact, when I first lived here, I had to. I live in a tent over there until they built my house. And this is where I would take my bath every day. Right there. So cool. Thank you God. Thank you Creator. And so I have an unlimited supply of fresh water. It's pretty awesome. My dogs love to play in it. Cool off. It's kind of perfect because living in the jungle is hot and this is fresh, cool, delicious water. Mineral dense, super awesome. So yeah, this is my cave. So I pump this up into my pool so I don't have to use the chemicals. I can redo fresh water all the time. And I do it in ecological way. All my waste gets a repurposed waters the plants. I'd swim you back, but I don't want to mess up my camera. I have a really big boa constrictor. She's not here today, but she lives up there in the rocks. I have a falcon that lives in one of the crevices at tons of tons of bats. One day I'll come in here and you'll see they'll just be flying around everywhere. You might even see them. What are you doing over there, Poncho? You chilling out? Yeah, my dogs love it in here.
