You wanna know what really sucks? Feeling helpless.

Misty Tripoli lives off-grid in the jungle but scrolls her phone and worries about AI making it impossible to know what's real online. She describes a persistent helplessness about the world and argues that changing it requires a shift in consciousness, not arguments.

You want to know what sucks? Is feeling helpless, not hopeless. Helpless meaning living out in the jungle, off grid, by myself, like away from the world. I don't really know what's going on most of the time. The only time I know what's going on is if I turn on my phone and do some scrolling and then I see stuff that I'm just like, what the is going on in the world? And I have to also question, what if it is real? Like with AI now, we have no idea what's real and what's not. And it's getting so good that we're not going to be able to tell the difference. I think we kind of can now, but it's going to get to the point where we can't. And I think some things now we can't. It's that good. So it's what's real, what's not, you know, and just seeing what's going on out in the world, not in my world. This is what's crazy is I feel like I live in a different dimension. I feel like I live because I don't even know any of that exists unless I turn my phone on. Like that is crazy. It's like it only exists in this little box. And when I'm in my world, in my day out in the jungle with my dogs, none of that exists. It's not there. And when I turn it on and I see it and going, what in what can I do about any of this? And this feeling of just helplessness, that there's nothing I can do. Nothing. And I've already known this. I don't even share my political views because it's irrelevant. Because what I've learned is you're not going to change anyone's mind. And it's just rage bait. Like, you know, everyone believes what they want to believe inside on whatever they want to side, and that's just where they are. And if they change their mind, it's because they've gone through something personal that made them change their mind. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. You feel helpless. We can kick and scream and yell and throw our hands up and. But does that work? We've got to create a different world. Like they say, you cannot change a problem from the same consciousness that created it. Someone's got to wake the upper.
