When I hire mentors and they give me advice, I like to push back on things. When my coach gives me advice, I understand that I paid them for a reason. I put my trust in them and I execute. I've been burned by a lot of programs before, and so when it comes to investing, I'm pretty skeptical. I've had some not-so-great coaching experiences, but I understand you can't find the good ones without finding a couple bad ones. And besides, I've learned something from every coaching program that I've been in. Taking risks scares the heck out of me. Raising my prices, hiring team members, spending more money on ads— it's all scary to me. I understand that taking taking risk is what I signed up for when I said I wanted a business. If I raise my prices and it doesn't work out, I can just change them back. If I hire the wrong team member, I'm going to learn valuable lessons. And if I spend more money on ads and I don't get the results I want, I'm one step closer to finding what does work. I move a little slower than most. I take a long time to make decisions, and when I know I need to do something to grow the business, it'll get done eventually. I understand that speed is king. If I have a decision to make, I make it quickly, and if I can get something done in a day versus a week, I make it happen.
