3 things I'd look for in a coaching program

After spending $400,000 on coaching and courses, this founder shares what actually works: one-to-one support when you get stuck, a community for accountability and peer learning, and detailed courses with specific implementation steps. Skip programs that skip any of these three.

If I was looking for a coaching program to help me grow my business and I was trying to figure out what to invest into and what I needed to make sure that the offer had in order for it to be a good fit for me, here's exactly what I would look for. And for context, this is coming from a chick who has invested probably upwards of about $400,000 at this point on coaching courses, mentorship, masterminds, etc. Been in a lot of stuff. Number 1 is I would try to make sure that there is some degree of one-to-one support. Support, uh, some form of messaging access, or maybe call, or something that if you are stuck on something, that somebody is going to give you some individualized, personalized attention. And the reason that I say this is because I know for sure there are programs out there, um, and like high-ticket programs, maybe like $8K or something like that, and there is actually no one-to-one support. Like, you will get on a group call with these programs, and it's like, you know, once a week they will have a group coaching call with like 500 people on it. There's no way on God's green earth you're gonna get to ask a question on a call like that. Like, I literally know friends who've been in programs like that and like literally didn't get to ask a question. Like, that is very tough to grow your business getting that level of support. So number 1, I would make sure that there is at least some form of 1-to-1 component. Number 2, and this might sound contradictory to the first thing I said, but it's not, they go together, is this is just my personal experience. I actually for sure would recommend that there is some form of group element as well. For me personally, I've actually realized I don't prefer— I do not prefer one-to-one only containers. That might sound very sexy and you're like, oh, I just get 100% personalized support. At least in my experience, I have done some very high ticket, I would say ultra high ticket, one-to-one coaching programs. Like I'm talking 100% $100,000, like 6 figures for a single program that was totally one-to-one. And I feel like it was missing some stuff. I didn't like the fact that it was only one-to-one and there was no community element. I didn't have other people pushing me. I didn't have anyone to compare myself to in a good way. I didn't get to watch what other people were doing and take inspiration from them. I think it missed the mark in that element, or in that respect, and Yeah, I think one-to-one is good, but I think having that group and having that community is incredibly powerful. And the last thing, the third thing, is I do think that there should be some version of a course where people can go insanely into detail on the very specific how-to stuff that you need to implement for your business. Because even though I think a lot of the results come from the implementation, you genuinely still do need really good information. So that's it. Those are the 3 things I would focus on to make sure that an offer has, if I was trying to choose a coaching program to grow the biz.
