3 Ways to Train Your Mind

Mindset shapes everything: your thoughts, feelings, actions, and results. Three practices rewire it: meditation sharpens focus, reading fills you with ideas from people who've already won, and a daily gratitude journal trains your brain to notice what's working instead of what isn't.

What's up guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. Today I want to shoot you a video on my top 3 favorite ways to train your mind. Now first things first, why would you do this? Why would you train your mind? Well, I don't think I have to explain to you why people go to the gym, right? Why it's important to train your body. You have muscles, they deserve to be worked out, and And to be honest with you, I don't think your brain is any different, right? That is a muscle that you can train as well. And I would argue that it's just as important, if not possibly more important, to train your mind than it is to train your body. Now, why is that? Um, because I truly think that mindset is the foundation for everything, right? Your thoughts influence your feelings. How you feel influences your actions. And the actions that you take influence your results, right? So I truly think that training your mind is just as important as training your body because your mindset and how you think is literally the foundation for everything that you create in your life. So that being said, let's get into it and we're going to go through the top 3 ways or my top 3 favorite ways to train your mind. So the first one is meditation, and meditation is good for a ton of different stuff, but the main focus of it for me, the main reason that I love meditation, is because you can train your mind to focus, right? We live in an ADD type of world these days, right? So many different videos on social media, these things popping up, um, this appointment you need to get to, this email that you need to check, this phone call that's coming in. There's just So much to balance. And to be honest, our attention span as human beings is actually decreasing. And if you want to be productive, if you're an entrepreneur, you are a type A person, you've got a ton of stuff on the go. If you want to be productive, you need to learn to focus. And meditation is something that allows you to train that part of your mind. My second favorite way, and these are not in any particular order by the way, these are just my top 3 favorite ways. Um, but my second favorite way to train your mind is by reading. Now, what do I think this does for you? Why do I love this so much? Honestly, it is a source of a ton of inspiration. It just, it allows me to think of possibilities. It gives me ideas, it gives me insights, it gets me thinking. I learn things. I can see, you know, the people who are writing these books have a lot of times achieved obviously some level of success, right? So by reading those books and seeing, you know, what they were able to accomplish, it's motivating for me because it reminds me that this stuff is possible. The goals I have, the dreams I have, the things I'm trying to do or create in my life, they are possible. Other people have done it, right? And I can see it, like when I'm reading those books, that they've done it. And it provides me with hope, it provides me with inspiration. Another thing about reading books that, you know, I really love is you're learning stuff, right? That's training your mind too. A lot of times people who have written these books, they have maybe taken their 10 years of experience in a particular field and narrowed it down into just 200 pages that you can read and learn from. So my second favorite way to train your mind is by reading. My third favorite way to train your mind is to practice gratitude. Now this can mean a ton of different things. For me, I try to make it a daily habit, and so I've chosen something that I I can put into my daily routine so that every single day I train my mind to think more positively and more optimistically. So for gratitude, what one thing I recommend is doing a daily gratitude journal, right? Maybe every time you get up in the morning, you write down 5 things that you are grateful for. And what that's doing is that's training your mind to be more positive and be more optimistic and focus on the fact that the glass is actually half full and it's not half empty, right? Because there are a ton of things that you could focus on. There's a ton of negative things in your life. There's a ton of positive things in your life, but you're going to be a lot happier, a lot more positive, a lot more fulfilled if you focus on the positive things in your life, right? There's that saying that what you focus on grows, and that's the point of gratitude. It's to consciously place your mind and your attention on all the things that are great in your life. And that is a way that will train your mind to be more positive and more optimistic. Alright, so to recap, I think it's super important to train your mind, right? I think it's just as important to train your mind as it is to train your body in the gym, and you can do reps. Like, you can actually do exercises for your mind. What are those exercises? Number 1, meditation. That is something you can do to train your mind to focus. Number 2, reading. That's something you can do to train your mind to see the possibilities, see that whatever you have in your mind, your goals, your dreams, whatever, it's possible. Somebody out there has probably already done that. And number 3 is gratitude, right? Having some sort of practice every single day that trains your mind to see the glass as half full rather than half empty so that you can be a more positive and optimistic person.
