A message to my younger self...

A speaker shares advice for his younger self: leave friend groups that don't match your goals, live extremely cheap to fund personal projects, reinvest savings in coaches and mentors, and expect criticism alongside inspiration as you become someone new.

So I'm making this video for my younger self because I think there's probably somebody out there who is my younger self and who's going through the same stuff. I just want you to know that you're not always going to be the one that's swimming upstream. Right now you're with the wrong school of fish, but if you have the courage to leave that school of fish, you will find a new school, and that new school isn't taking you farther from your goals, they're taking you closer to them. Number 2, you're going to make choices that most people won't understand. A lot of your friends are going to choose to live high on dog, they are going to spend most of what they make. You're going to do the opposite. You are going to get your expenses as low as you can. You will choose bananas instead of blueberries. You will do those kinds of things in order to save money. That extra money that you saved, you bought yourself time. You could work less and still live off of that, and that will give you time to grow the business. The second thing is you will still be able to save money, and that money is what you're going to use to invest into the coaches, the programs, the mentors, the events, the coworking spaces. And then number 3 is that who you are now is not who you need to be to hit the goals that you have. That just means that you have to become a different version of yourself in order to be able to achieve those goals, and that's going to be tough. It's going to require making decisions that you're not comfortable with, and it's going to require being able to tolerate more risk. But I just want you to know that you have the ability to cut yourself out for it. You can forge a different version of yourself at any time. And maybe the last thing that I want you to know— you'll probably get some haters along the way but you'll inspire a lot of people along the way, and it's going to turn out better than you ever could have originally imagined. So I will just say this: just know that it will be worth it.
