lets play a game

A speaker frames personal growth as a game with two choices: leap or stay put. He shares four moments he chose to leap, including leaving engineering for coaching, investing $20,000 in a mastermind that doubled his revenue, and a $25,000 bet that failed but earned him self-respect. Any leap is a win. Staying put guarantees you lose.

Let's play a game, shall we? The game is called Take the Leap of Faith or Stay Where You Are. We're gonna do 4 rounds of the game and I'm gonna leave you with a lesson. All right, round 1: Take the Leap of Faith. Story number 1: In 2014, I was in engineering, had white picket fence life all laid out in front of me. Was gonna make good money, walk into a job, it's gonna be amazing. Except for the fact that I was like, you know what, I think my soul's gonna die. I don't care if I'm gonna make a lot of money doing this, I don't like it. And so I jumped. I took the leap of faith and I called up my mom and I told her, "You know what? I'm gonna drop out of engineering and I'm gonna move to a different country to work for free for 3 guys that I have never met in my entire life that I found on YouTube who are doing this online coaching thing." Guess what happened when I took the leap of faith? Yeah, you guessed it. I changed my life forever. It's how I found coaching and thank God I did. Okay, round 2 of the game. We're gonna take the leap of faith again. So 2017, after I found coaching, decided to go out on my own, and I needed to make some money in the meantime. So I was waiting tables to pay bills, and I decided that I had saved up enough money at this, this job I was working. I was like, you know what, I'm gonna go out on my own. I've saved up enough money, I'm gonna go out on my own, I'm gonna make this work, I'm gonna go full-time in my coaching business. This was 2017. I took the leap of faith, but I did not change my life forever. I failed. I went out on my own for 4 months, couldn't figure it out, and I had to go back and get another serving job. So what happened when I took that leap of faith? I respected myself for trying. I failed, but it was a W. Okay, round 3, take the leap of faith. I was only making $5,000 a month at this point with my coaching business, but I decided to invest $20,000 in a 6-month mastermind. And you know what happened? Changed my fucking life forever. I went from making $5,000 a month to $20,000 a month. It was an insane ROI. All right, last round. Number 4, we're taking the leap of faith. Made a $25,000 investment and thought it was gonna catapult my business. It didn't. But you know what happened? I respected myself for trying. I respected myself for being in the damn arena. Now here's a lesson for you if you stuck with me this long, you trooper. Let's go back to the game. You take the leap of faith or you stay where you are. When you take the leap of faith, if you change your life forever, Or you respect yourself for trying. It's a W. It's a win either way. You can't lose in that game. But let's say you don't take the leap of faith and you decide to be a fucking pansy and stay where you are. Great. Then you can wonder what if forever. That game is an L, guaranteed. It's a loss. Now, I don't know if you've noticed, but not a lot of my examples did I decide to stay where I am. I don't want to play that game. Wondering what if forever? It's just not in the cards for me. By the way, shout out to Case Kenny. This graphic's unreal. I love it.
