In this brief YouTube video, the presenter (Speaker A) introduces the concept that outcomes—such as net worth, weight, knowledge, and clutter—are lagging measures of the habits that generate them, a principle taken from James Clear’s Atomic Habits. He argues that mindset and habits are the foundational drivers of success, especially in entrepreneurship. The speaker offers concrete examples: a habit of daily gym visits versus frequent fast‑food drive‑throughs for weight loss, and an automated monthly transfer to an investment account for building wealth. He then provides a simple, actionable framework: (1) identify a life area where you’re already seeing positive results and acknowledge the supporting habit; (2) pinpoint a domain where you’re falling short, and choose a tiny, manageable habit (e.g., drinking 500 ml of water upon waking) to move toward the desired goal. He emphasizes that small, consistent habits compound over years, shaping long‑term outcomes. The video ends with a call to action—encouraging viewers to subscribe, apply the advice, and return for weekly videos.

What's up guys? I wanted to do this very quick video today on the power of habits. And also really quick, if you haven't already, definitely hit that button right here to subscribe to my YouTube channel. I will be releasing videos every single Wednesday, so definitely do that if you haven't already. But other than that, let's get started. So I wanted to do this quick video today which was actually inspired by a book that I'm that I've been reading. It's called Atomic Habits by James Clear. Um, and I actually have a little bit of a quote I'd like to read you. So in this book, he talks a lot about habits and he says, your outcomes are a lagging measure of your habits, right? Your net worth is a lagging measure of your financial habits. Your weight is a lagging measure of your eating habits. Your knowledge is a lagging measure of your learning habits. Your clutter is a lagging measure of your cleaning habits, and you get what you repeat. Now, I don't know if you've noticed, but the banner on my YouTube channel literally says Mindset, Habits, Entrepreneurship. And the reason that it says mindset and habits is because I seriously think that those two things are the foundation for success in whatever it is that you're trying to create, right? For me, that just happens to be entrepreneurship. So I have that on the banner because habits are seriously so powerful, right? Those are literally the driving force that move you from whatever you're, you know, wherever you are to whatever your goal is, right? There has to be something that's going on in between here and here that gets you where you want to go, and a lot of what that is is habits, right? So I'll give you a couple examples. If you, if you want to lose 20 pounds, right, that's gonna be pretty tough for you if you have a habit of going to the drive-through, you know, every day after work ordering McDonald's because you don't have any meals prepped on the weekend, right? Something like that. It's gonna be a lot easier for you if you have a habit of getting up every morning and going to the gym, right? So just stuff like that. Another example would be, you know, saving money, right? Like, the only reason there's money in my bank account right now is because I have a habit of saving it, right? You know, I have— actually, I don't even consciously do this habit. I don't even, I don't even subconsciously do this habit. Something else does this for me. But every single month, money literally just gets pulled out of one account and just gets put into an investment account. That's a habit that I have that I don't even do it. I don't even do the habit. But it technically is a habit that I have and that's the only reason I have money in my bank account, right? That's the only reason I have money in that investment account. So what's my whole point with this video? Really what I want from any of these videos is for you to actually take action on stuff. And change something in your life as a result of them, right? I don't want you to just watch them and get inspired or be like, "Oh, that's cool," and then do nothing, right? I want you to actually get something from them. So my whole point about this video is think about— heck, let's do this. First, think about an area in your life where you're getting results that you are happy about, right? That could be your career, that could be your health, that could be your finances, whatever, your relationships, whatever. Think about, okay, well, what's one supporting habit that I have that's made that so, right? Like, what's a habit that I have? And it might even be tough to think about because you, you know, a lot of our habits are kind of subconscious, right? But think about, identify what is one of the habits that you have that is making that true for you right now, right? Okay, pat yourself on the back. Boom. Let's start this off on a high note. But then the other thing is think about an area of your life where you're not getting what you want. You aren't at certain goal, you aren't at X weight, you aren't at, you know, insert whatever goal here. And I just want you to think about what habit you could start to adopt that would push you in that direction. And it doesn't mean— it doesn't even need to be a huge habit. Like, it doesn't even need to be a crazy one. Like, example, If let's say you want to lose weight, right, maybe your habit could be that now every single morning, the moment you wake up, before you have any breakfast or start drinking caffeine or whatever, you're gonna drink 500 milliliters of water. A lot of times when you wake up, you think that you're hungry or that you're tired, but you're actually not. You're just dehydrated, right? So maybe your new habit that will help you eat, you know, less for breakfast is just drinking 500 milliliters of water the moment you wake up, right? Doesn't have to be crazy. My point is, pick an area that you're not super pumped about, um, and maybe one that you have a goal in, and figure out a habit that you can do in that area to push you in the direction you're trying to go. And something that you can think about this week as you go about your day-to-day is start to notice the habits that you have, right? Right? Like, think about even the small stuff and any little small habits you have. Ask yourself, if I project this 5, 10, 20 years down the line, what cumulative effect will this habit have on me? And probably what you're gonna find is it's the little stuff, right? It's the tiny stuff that compounded over years either puts you somewhere you want to be or somewhere you freaking don't want to be. Right? So anyways, that's it for my video today. I just wanted to do something quick. Um, but yeah, take that and run with it and figure out one solid habit that is going to push you in the direction you're trying to go. And I will see you next Wednesday. Subscribe, definitely subscribe. Next Wednesday.
