So there's a 4-letter word that will take your coaching business to the grave, and I would like to help you avoid it. Here's 2 quick examples that this was showing up in my life, because if you think I don't deal with this, I am also human and I also do. So talking a lot about this this week because it's very top of mind for me, but I just moved to the States and there's a bunch of stuff that, you know, I need to get organized because of that. First one I had to get organized was an apartment, and I'll tell you what, here's a fun fact, I'm I have never signed a lease in my life. Like, I've never signed a 12-month lease. I always just end up with, um, well, there was a period in my life where I was very scrappy with my living situations, um, and so I would like rent rooms and houses or add housemates or whatever, um, and then at some point I just like, I just got shorter-term rentals, furnished apartments, like all that kind of stuff. So I'd never been locked into like a 12-month lease and I'll tell you what, fucking scared the shit out of me. I was like, committing to somewhere for 12 months, I was like, 15 months, I was like, that sounds terrible. Like, what if I want to move? What if I don't like it? What if this, what if that? And then the second thing that was on the other side of that is like, okay, well, once you make that decision, there's another thing that pops up that freaks me out, which is like, and I'm kind of dealing with this right now, ain't no furniture in here. I was like, ah God, I'm gonna have to furnish this freaking place too, and then I'll have more stuff and furniture, and I'm not used to having that stuff. And I'm like, what if I want to move? What if I don't like it? I feel like it locks me down. Like, I don't want to commit to this. And I was like, whoa, girl, what are you— pump the brakes. Like, what are you scared of? I'll tell you what I was scared of. It was probably— it's a degree of unknown. I've never signed a lease before. I've never had a bunch of furniture before. I was like, okay, well, let's just play it out. Like, let's just worst-case scenario it. Like, how scary could this be? So you sign the lease. Let's just say absolute worst-case scenario, in the first month you're like, this is not for me, I hate this location, I hate downtown, there's not enough nature. It's just like whatever reason. Okay, great, you got to break the lease and you got some furniture you got to move. Cool. How much that cost you? I don't know, like 10 grand or something. All right, cool. You gonna die? No. And then I looked at it differently too. I was like, well, think about this for a second. Like, you run a coaching business that does more than $100,000 every month, which means every week if you just fuck around, you lose $25 grand. So I was like, okay, you're honestly better off just making a decision, and if it's the wrong decision, you can, you know, course correct. But I think the worst thing you can do right now is not make a decision and stay feeling like you're homeless for another week or two. And so anyways, long, long story short, fear is the 4-letter word that will kill your coaching business. And a lot of times the things on the other side that you're scared of aren't that bad. Just play it out.
