Best 5 Minute Ab and Flat Belly Workout | Natalie Jill

A short (under five minutes) YouTube workout led by Natalie Jill that targets abdominal and core strength without crunches. Uses body-weight moves—planks (forearm and hand transitions), alternating toe taps, side-plank progressions, and supine oblique shimmy—emphasizing proper form (flatten lower back, squeeze glutes) and breathing.

Hi, guys. Natalie, Jill. We're doing an ab and flat belly workout today with no crunches. No crunches. No crunches. Not a fan of crunches. We're doing all your own body weight. You can do it in less than five minutes. All you need is either a carpeted floor or a mat and a water nearby. Are you ready? We're gonna take it down to the mat and we're gonna work those abs and core. So bring it down. And we're gonna start in a plank position up on your forearms and your feet. Hold it here. Now, in a plank position, you want to make sure you're squeezing those glutes, taking that C curve out of your lower back. You don't want to be here. You want to be here. Squeezing.
Hold it as long as you can, and you can always rock it back and forth. If this is too challenging, just want to try to hold that plank. Great exercise. Remember, squeeze those glutes. Squeeze those glutes. You should never feel this in your lower back.
Okay? How we doing out there? Great. Now we're going to take a toe tap. Side to side, alternating sides, tapping it out.
Side to side. Remember, this is a short workout. We're going to do the whole thing in less than five minutes. Everybody, including you, can do a five minute workout. Keep it going. If you have to take a break, tap it down slowly with your knee. Take a mini break and then come join me. Right, back up.
Side to side. How we doing?
Nice job. Okay, quick mini break. Stretch that out. Breathe. We're going to go back down to a plank again. We're going to make it a little bit more creative for you. Are you ready? Taking it back down to a plank in those forearms. We're going to start bringing it up. It's your hands. Hold it and then back down. So we're taking it up, up, down, down, up, up, down, down. This is too hard. You can hold it here. You can always rock it. You can always come down for a mini break on your knees, but ideally you want to keep it at up, up, down, down.
Let's get two more in.
Last one.
Nice job. Take a mini break. Stretch it out. Breathe. Remember to breathe. Okay, we're gonna take it back down to a plank. Don't get mad at me yet. Planks are the best exercises you can do for this flat belly. Helps you get that strong core. We're taking it back down to a plank, but this time on our side. So you want to rest your forearm here. Start with your knee on the ground. Lift it up here. This is step one. Hold it here. Or for those of you a little bit more advanced. Bring both feet up. Hold it. Squeeze. If you want a little bit more challenge here, lift your leg up. Hold it.
Back down.
Remember to breathe. You can always put that knee down for a mini break. I want to try to keep it here. Hold it.
Now you're gonna take it to the other side. You flip over, turn it around. Ready? Bring it up. Hold it. Squeeze. Always breathing. Hands up. Lifting your leg to make it more advanced.
Hold it here. Always breathing.
How we doing?
Side planks. You're doing it.
Mini break. Okay, for the last exercise in this segment, take it to our backs on the ground here. Make sure your lower back is flat into the ground.
Feet, starting here, you want to make sure this curve is taken out, flattened to the ground. Point your toes towards your feet.
Bend your knees, and we're going to shimmy it side to side. Now, we're not crunching up. It's just a little shimmy side to side. Working those obliques, working those abs, working that core side to side. Remember to breathe through it.
Keep that lower back pressed into the ground, into the mat.
Nice job. You got through it. You did it. Great job. Are you feeling it? Comment below, let me know how you did. Now, ultimately, I always get the question, how many reps do I do of each? And I'm going to tell you, it's not the amount of reps, it's how intense you're doing it for you. And if you felt it, if you felt it, you're doing a great job. You do it till it burns. Now, if you look down below, I do have information for my new DVD which is four 10 minute workouts using just your own body weight. So really get more into this, including a 10 minute core crusher.
