Best Exercises to Flatten Your Lower Belly | Natalie Jill

A short instructional YouTube video by Natalie Jill demonstrating exercises to target the lower abdominal area. The speaker introduces the goal (reduce lower-belly pooch) and demonstrates several core-focused moves—leg circles, V-hold, slow leg lifts, and flutter kicks—while emphasizing form cues (press lower back into the mat, optional hands under the glutes or forearms for support) and how to scale difficulty (higher legs = easier, lower legs = harder).

Hi, guys. Welcome back to Happy Healthy Fit. I'm Natalie. Jill, if you don't know me. And I'm going to talk about today, the best exercises to attack that lower belly. Because although we've got the same set of muscles working through that whole area, that lower belly pooch is what everybody says. How do I get rid of that? So I'm going to show you some of my favorite exercises today. You could do them with me to learn how to do them, and then we're going to talk about how to put them together.
So my first favorite exercise for this is leg circles. And let me show you how this works. You're going to lay on your back, so you want a mat or some carpeting. Make it comfortable. Don't get too comfortable because we're going to attack that lower belly. Put that lower back flat into the ground. You want to make sure you don't have a big arch C here to protect that lower back. You can also place your hands underneath your butt if you want to help support. Head's flat, fingers pointed forward. And we're gonna slowly lift up just to right here. Now, the higher you go, the easier it's gonna be. The lower you go, the more challenging. So once you're in this position and you decide, do you want it more challenging or a little bit less challenging, we're gonna just make some big circles with our legs. Let's try a couple with me and play with it a little bit. You'll see how the higher you go, it's a lot easier. Where if you keep it right here, lower, you're really going to feel it here. You can reverse it the other way, too. This is a great, great lower belly exercise.
The next exercise I want to show you is just a V hold. You can do this flat on your back, or you can come up just to your forearms here. Whatever is most comfortable for your back. I'm going to take it all the way down and just hold those legs up to a slight V. Just holding it right here, and you'll really start to feel it engaging in those muscles. Same thing. The higher you come, the easier it is. The lower, the more challenging. Really concentrating on pressing that lower back into the ground flat. So you're feeling it all in those abs, really in the lower part. The next exercise I want to show you is just slightly lifting these legs up and down.
You should really feel these slow and controlled concentrating on that lower belly area. Really feel that.
Same thing. You can come up to this forearms, whatever is more comfortable for you. I'm already feeling them, and I just showed you a few. Okay. The last one I want to show you is a flutter kick. Same position, but this time, we're going to crisscross those legs right here. And with the flutter kicks, you can move your legs up.
Or down or just hold them right here. But just by hovering it right here, you're going to really attack that lower belly. I already feel it. Okay, so how do you put these together, and how many should you be doing? The key to any exercise I show you is you want to do what's challenging for you. So it's not about just doing a certain rep number or a certain time. It's not about saying, oh, my gosh, I needed to do three sets of 12, or I have to do these for two minutes each. It's what's challenging for you and what you feel, and that's how you start to change and get that definition. So for these exercises, what I would suggest is doing one at a time for as long as you can go. So you feel it where it's feeling good in those abs, you're feeling it there. Not anything hurting your lower back or anyplace else, but what's intense for you. And then you can repeat through all of those exercises, you'll get a great ab workout. Now for more ab questions. And how to get that flat belly and how to do that through diet and exercise and everything you need to know. Make sure you check out the link below, because I've got a full article written for you right there with exactly how to get the flat belly in those abs. Bye.
